I haven't even taken any pictures. I just checked into this thread yesterday and found out about this idea. I like it ! And I have alot of things to sell. I am going to have to re-read some of these posts and learn how to do this. Thanks for the great info.

I've found a new source of merchandise, and wow, it's going great! Have you bought perfume, or received it as a gift, and tried it once then never used it again? Or, have you gotten cosmetics GWPs (Gifts With Purchase) that you never really touched? They sell really well! I made $45 today cleaning out my bathroom cabinets - a $10 BIN for 3 perfume sample sizes that were untouched, and a $35 BIN for a perfume and bathgel gift set - the bath gel was unopened, and the perfume had been sprayed once or twice. I stated that in the listing and that it was still 99% full, and BANG! Neither listing was up more than an hour!

Name brand cosmetics do great for me as well! Every once in a while I luck into a bunch of stuff and it almost all sells on the first listing for way more than I expect! :bounce: :Pinkbounc

Mrs. Snowgod and disneychrista: I think I got it from reading your posts and following your links:

example: I live in zone 1
I'm sending a 3lb. package to Tampa,Fla.(my mom lives there, I know her zip)
zip code is 33615
To send parcel post it would be $5.65 and
To send priority mail it would be $$6.85
Then if they want ins. they would add $1.30 (up to 50.00)

THat shipping sounds like alot to me. When I did the buy it now on the camera from e-bay, the shipping was 5.00 andits coming from Minneapolis. He's probably sending it regular mail. So, if what I figured is right, then I should give the option to the buyers if they want regular shipping, parcel post or priorty mail.
This is if I do actual shipping. If I do a flat rate, then I just figure that being I'm zone 1, the buyer is zone 8, and it goes regular mail (right?)...

Another THANKS from me to you.....
Denise

I've been lurking for awhile now, and I would like to join the ebay class. PUH-LEASE?! I'll raise my hand before talking! :)

I have bought on ebay, but never sold on it before, until I had a goal to work toward - a Disney honeymoon with my husband (who I will have been married to for 10 months by the time we go - that's the military for you) in December.

I've put up 10 things, two went without bids, but I ended up selling them (and some other things) via friends, and I'm about to close my first sale tomorrow! Woohoo!

Anyway, just wanted to join the class and say HI! :p

Hey everyone!! Just checking in. I expected to have a not so good week, what with the power outages, etc. However, I had a much better week than I expected. 3 of my items that I put up with BINs sold for MORE than my BIN, you gotta love that. And most of the rest of the stuff I listed sold.

DW and Myself are currently looking for ways to make extra income for those annual WDW trips. Seeing this thread has "reinspired" me to begin selling on Ebay.
DW has had some minor success in selling name brand clothes on there but everything Ive tried has turned south it seems like.
I will go back and read all the posts here to try and get some ideas on how "real" people do it.
Ive heard of those great success stories but I cant look around our house and see any "treasures", but hey, one mans junk, you know the rest of it.
Thanks for the inspiration!

I sold 2 identical items and left positive feedback on the wrong one...which now turns out to be a non-paying bidder. Is there any way to correct this? If I go in and respond to that feedback they will still get the positive rating.

Yesterday a listed a small Pooh hinged box on Ebay for a starting price of $5. Its only in its 1st day and is up to about $9. The problem is someone has email me wanting to by it right now for $60!!!!

Is it fair to stop the auction and cancell all the bids so far? I have never done anything like this before.

I have got around 14 emails for this box in 24 hours, 2 from Japan!!!

Here my update! My auction ended yesterday for the small Pooh hinged box.

ENDING PRICE: $112.50!!!!

And to think this thing has been sitting on a shelf for years!!!

only through square trade..and there is a cost with that, and even then it's not a postive thing, since I'm sure the person you left it with wants it to stay as is. They do give you two warnings to be sure before leaving it : (
It may be best to just forget it and move on.

I had the same problem awhile back and the Post Office gave me a 1-800 number to call.. Don't get nervouse when they ask for your customer# - just tell them you don't have one and you've been trying to order supplies on-line... The number is:

Ok, I have a question....I have a bunch of BRAND NEW COACH bags that I bought then decided that I didn't like, and never returned. Do you think it would be worth it to try to sell them on ebay? When I say brand new, I really mean that I may have used it one day to try and then went back to my ol' reliable. It's stupid for them to sit in my closet and not have someone use them when they cost a pretty penny. Thanks.

What is a couch bag??

My new rule is throw nothing away, give nothing away until I've put it on Ebay.

Yes,I got a Coach bag last year on e-bay & I paid $125 +s/h. Its fairly small. Coach bags are expensive to buy retail, so when I was looking I went straight to e-bay. So, by all means if its not doing anything but sitting in your closet, SELL it. Even old beat up Coach bags were going for $$$.

Coach is a designer label bag. They usualy sell in up scale stores and have there own little stores.

Oh, yes, absolutely! First, do your research to see what they are selling for now. That should be very encouraging. Be sure to check completed items, also. I'm not personally into designer brands, but maybe others here can suggest whether these might do better now during the back-to-school and fall wardrobe shopping season, or if they would be better held for closer to Christmas.

If any of them still have tags, be sure to list NWT in your title.

Let us know how you do! :D

Wow, wait'll my sister hears this! Her home was burglarized a few months ago and they took all of her Coach Bags! The next weekend she bought $400 worth of replacements on eBay. She was so thrilled at the prices she got! :teeth:

Coach sells very well on eBay. I sold three of her old items and they sold by Buy It Now almost immediately.

I have a bidder on one of my items that lives in the UK. I clearly stated for non-us bidders to email before bidding for S/H. I just went to the USPS site and found that it will cost about $40 to ship this item to the UK. I am concerned that after the close of the auction (next Saturday) that the person will back out when they find out how much it'll cost to ship. So far they have only made purchases from within the UK. What would you do?
