hello all,
I was going to post yesterday because i was nervous about auctions.
2 ended within 1 hour of each other $ 112 & 102 respectively. they also were very similar items and winning bidder was the same. alittle jumpy i was about whether he would pay.

so after sweating for a day he emails me and says" please copy down my info: mastercard blah blah blah exp date total is $262 thank you, please ship to ......"

now my question is why didnt he go through pay pal or hit pay now spot on auction, could this be fraudulant. i emailed him back stating i didnt know if paypal asked for any confirmation like mothers maiden name or anything but he should click on pay now and that would work him through it, any prob to email me me back.

Sorry so long winded but had a bad feeling from get go and this could all be legit but fighured i run it by the experts here any help or insight would be great.
Thanks

Gee this guy seems to think you are a store!

Woo Hoo! I just ended my first Ebay auction today (my first of 16 listings I've put up this week). It was pretty exciting for this first timer. In the last minute of the auction, there was quite a bidding frenzy between 2 folks for my wireless network antenna. It went from $45 to $74 in mere seconds as they went back and forth. With only 3 seconds left, I hit the refresh screen one last time and the bidding ended at $76! What fun!!!

I may have my first NPB. A lady won 2 of my auctions and i sent her an invoice heard nothing from her today was 3days after so i sent her a reminder. I am begining to wonder. and i am hoping she isn't a NPB
If she is where do i go on ebay to file a NPB with them? I haven't noticed a link for this anywhere.

Thanks
Sharon

I have received an email from one of my customers that she received the items and loves them but hasn't left any feedback for me yet. Is it OK to email her back that I am pleased she is happy with the items and I'd appreciate if she leaves feedback for me? Or is this rude/not allowed?

Thanks,

Martha

Try sending a regular email, not through ebay or paypal. Anti-spam software may block emails from ebay. This is the notice I send, in addition to the auto-invoice from PayPal: "Just a note to let you know you were the winning bidder for ebay auction number -----------. I've sent an invoice from PayPal, but sometimes they are collected by anti-spam programs. Your winning bid amount is $----- plus shipping of $----. The amount due is $---- payable to ------@comcast.net if paying by PayPal. If payment is to be by other means, email for payment address."

Sometimes I get requests for feedback after I've purchased something. Somethings they email specifically for this. Personnally, it feels strange to me to get this kind of email. However, now being on the selling side, it's kind of fun to watch the star number go up, and having people say that my item is just as described, or that I shipped promptly can only help me out with my current sales.

I was suspended from ebay and I'm wondering why. The email says something about my contact information being incorrect. Could this be a spoof or something. I did try signing into Ebay and it said my account was suspended. Help!

Lisa

Did you try signing on through the email? If yes, try signing on direct. Hopefully you didn't give any info. eBay usually sends you a note with all the info of why. Were your auctions stopped. IN most cases it is a spoof.

Is this your name on eBay? If yes, then you are suspended. Perhaps someone tried to reach you and was not able to. Is your info current on eBay?

I got an email back from them saying that I need to provide them with my name, address and telephone number. And they will call me to verify. Does this sound right? They are not asking for my password. I haven't moved or changed anything so I'm confused as to why this has happened. I had a couple of auctions going last week but none right now.

And yes, my name is FireflyfromMI.

Should I just go ahead and email them the information?

Personally I would call ebay or at least go to there customer support by way of "My EBAY" page and ask some questions.
Giving someone your name address and telephone no# is enough info for someone to steal your identity. Make sure it is ebay before you give them a thing! BUT... don't ever click on anything in an email that is asking you for ANY kind of personal information.. go right to site and go from there...
Contact EBAY yourself and just ask.:wave2:

I am just fuming! I sold a brand new Creative Memories album last week - it was still in the cellophane. I sent it in a bubble envelope and today the buyer posted that I took no care in shipping and it arrived ruined. HUH??? How can that be? What in the world could happen to cause a scrapbook album to be ruined? If there was a problem, why didn't she email me first and ask for a refund or something before just slamming my 100% positive feedback??? What is wrong with people?

They didn't ask for her password..which is how eBay handles it. She actually is suspended, so it sounds like someone tried to reach her using her eBay info and couldn't .eBay then tries, and if they can't reach you, you get the note she got. Or, your credit card has expired..that's another reason they suspend. eBay will never ask for your password..and this note didn't if I understand her right. I would send them what they are asking for. It's info that would be available in your contact info. You wrote them and they responded. As long as they don't ask and you don't give your password you should be fine. If you call them, they will just send the same note they already sent you...they won't solve this over the phone : (

OHHH! I hate people like that. I had one last month. I worked with him and everything, so that he could send his payment a few day later than I would have liked. Then he hounds me for days after he pays for his feedback, which I do on my own time, I have a big feedback leave day. Then after I leave the fedback I hear NOTHING from him. Then one day I go to check my feedback to see if some of my buyers had gotten there stuff, and what do I find, but a nutral from this guy saying that the the movie case was not mint, but the tape seems to play fine. Now he knew he ws not getting a brand new, never viewed movie, I said it was used, and out of print. No e-mail to me to let me know he was not happy or anything. So he has now been blocked from all of my auctions, and I had to write under the nutral that he never contacted me to give me a chance to fix the problem.

What would you do?:

I sold a brand new factory sealed PS2 game. Buyer took 15 days to pay. Today I received an email that said they received the game & left positive feedback, then an hour & a half later they email me that the game does not work & they want a replacement (which I do not have) & that I should have tested the game first (it wouldn't have been new & factory sealed if I had tested it first). I've sold dozens of new games before & never had one not work (nor have I ever had one of the games that my family owns not work, and my husband literally has hundreds of them, it's his "hobby" ). Would you offer a refund?

ETA: After I promptly responded to his email & said that I would give him an answer tonight when my husband gets home, he immediately emails back & says he needs to know right now what I am going to do to solve this problem.:(

Update: Is this a fair offer for us to make?: If he wants to send it back & pay the shipping, we will refund the bid price if the game does not work for us & IF it is obvious that the game has not been abused (we are concerned that the new disc will be kept & a used game will be returned, the buyer has said they run a game shop). I don't know what to do if the game DOES work for us though.

Anyone have an idea on when's the best month to list Halloween costumes? I have a Zurg and a Peter Pan that I'd like to unload and I want to list them so that I make the most on them.

Thanks!

 I am getting SO frustrated. I'm new to selling on Ebay. I'm trying to print a shipping label on Paypal to ship out a small package tomorrow morning and they US Postal Service is down right now. GGGGrrrrrrr!

OK, folks, dumb question time again...

Being the kind of person that tries to go above and beyond, I have been waiting for the high bidder to contact me. I've sent the invoice, a reminder, a follow-up reminder, and the non-paying bidder e-mail through ebay. I still haven't heard ANYTHING from the buyer, so I've now requested the phone number to contact her.

This person was new to ebay (member since March 4), and had 0 feedback. Well, I was new once and thought she had to start somewhere, so no problem, right?

Wrong! Since my auction, she's received several glowing positive feedbacks, thrown in with several negative ones. This morning I checked to see if she had bid on or won anything else, and noticed her feedback had increased--then I noticed that this person is no longer a registered user.

Does this mean I can forget about trying to call her or getting paid for my item? I'm assuming if she's no longer using ebay, I can just go ahead and file for refund of my fee and leave a negative (not that it would really matter at this point!). Fortunately, it wasn't a big ticket item, but she bid on it and should have been willing to follow through with the transaction.

I guess what really bugs me is that the terms are stated twice in all my auctions: 3 days to contact, 10 days to receive payment. I don't think that's unreasonable. I guess I'll have to update my auctions to state that I'll absolutely adhere to those guidelines and start leaving negatives instead of trying to work with people (OK, I won't word it exactly like that, but I'm sure you can understand my frustration).

Grrr...sorry to be venting so early in the morning. Maybe a nice long day at the office will clear my head!

Thanks for listening!

Thanks!

I listed my Ariel costume back in September. I listed it obviously used, and I got about 3/4 of what I paid for it. This was a Disney Store Ariel costume.

Yes, you can go ahead and just file for the NPB---you will not be able to get any money out of this person (or leave them a neg--this is impossible once they're NARU'd).

I would not change auction terms based on this experience---remember, people who don't pay will not be deterrred by tough-sounding auction terms, and people who DO pay may be deterrred from bidding by any auction terms that might possibly sound like you are a troublesome seller!
