This is my very first trip report...oh I've had other trips...just never got around to reporting about them.
I'm hoping to remember enough from our upcoming May 8 day long trip to do a report then too. But for now this was our quicky for the day. So here it goes..
DH-Chad(26)-Loves Disney when we are there and doesn't want to leave, but I have to bribe him to get us there to begin with.
Me-Mandee/Mom(23)-Self diagnosed Disneyoholic, lives for planning our next trip...already trying to figure out how to get DH to renew our AP's. I needed this day trip to get me through until May.
DS-Jeremiah(4 3/4)-LOVES WDW, but his real love is the "Real Disney World, you know Mom with the castle." 40 3/4in. tall, rode TOT last Sept. and didn't scream. He says he won't do it again because it made his "belly hurt". He swears up and down that, "No Mom you're arguing with ME." He thinks the Disney resorts ARE Disney World.
DS-Seth(3 3/4)-LOVES WDW, but would probably be content if we only went to a resort and stayed there. He thinks hotels are the greatest. 40in. FINALLY tall enough for some of those great rides!
DS-Ethan(23mo)-He thinks Mickey Mouse is the best.
Asks me to draw MM on his hand EVERYDAY. He also has a new found obsession with Buzz..demends to watch it at LEAST 4 times a day.
DS-Kaleb(7weeks, 3 days)-First trip outside of the womb. He was an angel!
It all began Friday night. DH comes home from work and we are going about our daily rituals, taking showers, giving baths, making dinner, having coffee...you know the ones. Anyway after he had been home for about 2 hours he says,"Oh your Dad wants to come over tonight and sit around the fire(out in the backyard).(Mom was at a Ladies conference) Aimee(DS18) will come over and watch a movie with you." Me: "WHAT??!?!?!?! I don't want to watch a movie with Aimee I want to spend the evening with you. I've been with 4 kids with no one to talk to all week, I want to spend time with you, not my sister. This isn't fair to me, I get to stay in the house with the kids while you are outside till 3am(maybe a little bit of an exageration) and I have to go to bed by myself because I can't stay up late since I have to sleep when the baby sleeps. blah blah blah" He's getting a little PO'd now but I don't stop...now I start crying about how I just spent the whole day cleaning the house and now they were all going to come over and I'd have to clean again Sat. He realizes FINALLY that we have had this same conversation not too long ago after my family had come over and he and my dad and a friend stayed outside until like 1am and made a HUGE mess of my JUST cleaned house. So he says he shouldn't have made plans without checking with me about the status of the house.
I am a little obsessed. So we compromise and they come over but only stay inside, no fire. (Drags in all kinds of dirt and grass.) A little while later I casually say,"You should have said,'Your Dad is coming over for a fire, and by the way, I'm taking you to WDW tomorrow.'" He thought about it and said,"You want to?" So the packing began. I threw together diapers and wipes in a bag and made Jeremiah and Seth get dressed in what they would wear Sat. and we were ready!
I go to bed after 11 and am up at 3 with Kaleb....5:30AM the alarm goes off. Of course it's EASY to get out of bed that early when you're going to MK! So I start getting ready get everyone up and feed Kaleb. We didn't make it out the door until after 6. Didn't start heading out of town until 7am(had to get gas) But it was a beautiful day!
It's a 2 1/2-3 hour drive on nice country backroads...Kaleb started freaking out once, so I hoped in the back and gave him a bottle. In his car seat of course. The whole way we have the radio blasting so we don't have to listen to the "Are we there yet's" We didn't tell them where we were going, just that we were taking them to a park. Finally the MM power lines..uh oh, I hope the boys don't seem them.
Jeremiah: "LOOK there's Mickey Mouse, this is Disney World"
I should have known...
Me: "Yeah Disney World is around here."
Okay a couple more miles and we go under the WDW welcome sign. I hold my breath hoping they don't see it.
Seth: "HEY! This is where Disney World lives!"
Drats! I tried.
We say nothing until we get to the parking lot and Chad tells them where we are and that we surprised them.
Jeremiah: "When are we going to the park with a slide?"
You can never please them.
It takes us forever to get out and the stroller out and diapers changed and Kaleb in his sling. Finally we are standing there waiting for the tram, er uh, I mean "That cool, fast noisy ride." We piled on to the tram. Chad first with the stroller and then our 3 DS. Then I got in with the backpack and Kaleb(7weeks). After we get in this family of 4 starts getting in the seat in front of us. They had about a 4 year old and the baby looked around the same as my DS7wks. Mom and 4 yr old get in Mom is holding the baby. Her DH hands her the infant car seat(for the life of my I can't figure out why SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO many people do that, I would NEVER bring my CAR SEAT to the parks, talk about carry too much stuff.... Okay, so now Dad lifts up the double stroller and gets in. Great, were ready to go
...nope. CM comes over and tells Dad that the stroller has to be closed. No big deal right, we've all done it a MILLION times. Well aparently it was his first.
He can't figure out how to do it. He pushes the butten and twists and handle and it only closes a little bit.
Mom is trying to explain it to him all the while getting more and more PO'd that he can't close the stinking stroller. Dad is also getting VERY PO'd and at this point starts slamming the stroller up and down.
This man from their row got down and was trying to help..but nope. It won't close..well it could have something to do with the fact that they had 3 big bags in the basket.
We had twice as many kids and only one backpack(without wheels. ) I don't know why they needed sooooooooooooooooooooo much stuff. So now he trys to take a bag out, with the stroller half collapsed...of course it doesn't come out and he resorts to more up and down banging of the stroller.
Finally she got a clue and they got off the tram because he wasn't going to be able to close that stroller. He obviously never took, "Stroller 101".
When she got off the CM said over the speaker, "Yeah, I didn't think so." But really, I felt horrible for them starting their day out that way. I hope things got better.
We get to the TTC and of course first thing is we have to make a potty stop. While I am waiting with Ethan and Kaleb and Chad took Jeremiah and Seth in, Ethan spots the monorail. He FREAKS out, I can only imagine he is going to end up like Em from Delswifes trip reports. Everytime it comes wizzing by he flips and wants to go to it. Finally we are heading up the ramp and onto the Monorail. Ethan was in heaven...when we got to MK and got off he saw the opened door next to the one we came out of and said,"AGAIN!". The line to get in was short on our side, but super long from everyone getting off the busses. Chad waited for about 15 minutes to get a stroller and we were off!
Ah..there is nothing like walking under the train station and walking into MK. The castle was beautiful all ready for the celebration..although I have to admit, I think the big picture on the front looks kindy tacky.
