I agree that the Single Rider line is awesome on EE. I've never used it (was going to this last trip but a wonderful family gave me a single FP so I had two of those) but I've never seen more than 10 people standing in it. I wonder if people don't know about it because it's kind of off by itself. Now the single rider line for RnRC, that's another story!

AKL and WL are probably the only two Deluxe resorts that I have any desire to stay at. I priced out AKL fo our October trip but I just could not justify the extra expense. Oh well maybe someday when I win the lottery.

I would love to be able to sit there and watch the Giraffes though, that looks like a lot of fun.

Haha, they're pretty funny when they're missing the magic part of it, like, what're we so shocked about!! EE is great for the single riders, it makes the wait time so much shorter. Paige used the RnR single rider and the wait was under ten, but that was before noon!

I feel like I'm always torn when it comes to deluxes; do I want to stay there during a short trip because it's cheap then, or do I want to stay there a long trip so I can really appreciate the resort?! Like, if I'm down for two nights for an audition, I'm never going to be in the room, so why bother, haha!

I'm glad that you finally got to see some animals. I'd have been annoyed to pay extra and not see any too.

at your description of Dinosaur. I've pretty much told Maddie that she'll hate it and we aren't doing it.

Yayyy for seeing animals from your balcony!! We were only at AKL the last two days of our trip and I was sooo angry every time I didn't see animals! I know they can't really control where they go but the giraffe's didn't really come close to us. However, I LOVED this resort and we're staying there again in October.

Can't wait to hear about MNSSHP! My sister & I are going to our first party this year

It was great!! Haha, I really did love having the savannah view, it was goregeous, even without animals. I do understand you can't control them too much, and they're probably more out and about durign the day, when we were at the parks, but ho hum, that was MUCH more for me instead of Mom. Lawl, our first night we were walking around the grounds and she was all "this is JUST LIKE AFRICA, except, we'd round that corner and there'd be a rhino walking across the road"

Yay!!! So glad you're going, they're a blast!! And we hit up two of them this year, and are going to another two come Sept!!

Giraffes are amazing! I fell in love with them and polar bears when I was over in Australia like, five years ago. (Sounds odd, but I spent a lot of time in zoos, Sydney's got the greatest zoo!]

A bit of a real life update while I've got your attention!! I currently have no internet or cable at the house, and it's the roomie who's name is on the paperwork, so I have to wait for her to get everything sorted out, hence the lack of posting from me! I'm so sorry!!

Number two: the Sept trip, I expect you've all seen the new ticker, is booked and all ready to go! It's going to be an awesome trip and I'm super excited for it, it's also a birthday trip for everyone but me! I didn't know when I booked it but two people in our party will have birthdays during the trip, and my Mom's is the week before! Yay!

Mom and I headed down to the bus stop at AKL and sat down to wait for the Magic Kingdom bus while we chatted with another couple of families that were down there. At one point, a small girl came up to me and asked if she could have her picture taken with me! Since we werent in a park, and I wasnt signing autographs, or saying that I was Alice, I figured it was okay, it was super cute and adorable anyways!

We got into MK and got our wrist bands & candy bags (which were Wreck It Ralph themed, so excited to see that movie!) and our first stop of course, was for some photopass pictures!

Yay! As you can tell, I was Alice (movie/park version) and Mom was The White Rabbit. I thought she was going to be the Queen of Hearts, but she said that there was too many layers in any Wonderland costumes, and ended up kind of Disneybounding as the Rabbit, with some ears, a tail, and made a clock out of a coaster in the hotel room. Pretty crafty that woman is! Me, well, I got my costume off Etsy, from pixiedustboutiquee (http://www.etsy.com/shop/pixiedustboutiquee) and I highly recommend her! Shes got both adult and kid costumes, and theyre all really legit. My old roomie that used to do princess parties, a lot of the costumes she had were from this shop. Yay!

With the photopass picture done, we headed down Main Street, it was still super early, although past 4:00 pm, so it was okay. However, it was one of the first Halloween parties of the season, and there wasnt really a lot of people out, especially adults, in costumes. I was kind of wary, and Mom reminded me I had wanted to go on the tea cups in our costumes, but I didnt really want to at this time, there were too many kids pointing out at me already haha!

We did however wander down this way, and a CM walking by asked if we wanted a picture together in front of the topiary, and we said sure!

Yay! And at this point, like, 4 little Brazilian girls came running up with autograph books and pens, and I was all Nope, no, not really Alice and thank God the CM just said the same thing, and didnt say anything to me (probably because I reacted the way I did)

Mom and I just kinda wandered through the park, doing a full lap, just wandering around, but we did make a pit stop in Adventureland to take pictures of some adorable dressed up kids!

And of course we had some time for a Dole Whip before the party started! I got the Vanilla Pineapple swirl, and Im not sure what she got. We sat ourselves down on the little planter thing right in front of the Fairies meet & greet to eat, and let me tell you, it was difficult to eat that ice cream and make sure that nothing was getting on that dress! Eeek!

We then made it back to the hub in time for some Move It Shake It fun times, and hung out around there for something to do!

While all the presents were going by at the end, I even got a little shout out & big wave from the Mad Hatter! Yay! It was exciting for me. I may have been a little uncomfortable being one of the only people dressed up, but once the actual party starts, Im all down for the awesome costumes! We headed back up Main Street, which was one heck of a gong show at that point, since we had a big target in mind, and hey, some more photos while were at it!

I dont know how they manage to clear the parks out, its pretty impressive, and Main Street gets to be quite the cluster mess as they try to keep everyone on the right hand side of the street, and its just super crowded.

I will admit, I wasnt in the greatest moods at this point, as we had pretty much just been wandering around for the last hour and a half. I didnt want to ruin the dress, so I was really hesitant to go on any rides, especially before the party, but we did have a place to be now.

Once we made it down Main Street we headed into Town Square Theatre and found the line that was for the Princess (and their PRINCES) and plonked ourselves down on the floor to wait. Id say it was about 6:30 right now, and we didnt have long to wait before theyd open the doors. Yay! Mom also found a hilarious shirt on a parent that she really liked, and had to get a picture of!

And with that, I leave you, as the update with royalty has just too many pictures to even handle!

As I had said in the last update, Mom and I arrived and Town Hall at just about 6:30pm, MNSSHP had yet to actually start, and we’d already done a full lap of the park! Ha! Oh well, now we were ready for some characters, some princes to be specific!

They CM’s let the line in just before 7:00 hit, into the red carpeted room/line up room, and right at 7:00 they started letting everyone in! I was super excited, I mean, princess is one thing, but Princes, I mean, they’re never out, and this is half the reason I’ll come to Disney for parties like this, rare characters! I definitely mentioned to Mom that it was mainly Flynn, I mean, let’s be serious, the other princes don’t even matter at this point! We weren’t too far back in the line, and thus, were into the princess room pretty quickly!!

Rapunzel & Flynn were up first, and I went solo to start things off!

Mom definitely pointed out later that she managed to get a picture of me standing in perfect ballet positions, yup…that happens…

They were both super awesome, and were signing some post cards for me for friends back home while we chatted about various things.

I told Flynn about my roommate, Cody, (who was originally supposed to come on this trip….) and how he thought he did the perfect smoulder, and how he really was Flynn Rider, and asked if Flynn could possibly make a tutorial video for Cody, and he of course obliged!

Just in case you wanted to check it out! Afterwards, Flynn was all “so, worked on ya?” Rapunzel and I just kinda shared a glance and commented that it must not work too well on blondes….HA!


While we were talking, Flynn noticed by bag, and made a comment on my “satchel” and how they were so handy to keep things in, right? And then was all “you wanna see what’s in my satchel?”

ARE YOU SERIOUSLY ASKING ME THIS?!?! I had actually meant to ask, but completely forgot when I got up to talking to them (this is apparently a trend when it comes to characters and me….) Uhm…yes Flynn Rider, I DO want to see what’s in your satchel!

He said that it was pretty awesome, but I couldn’t tell anyone what was in it, I was sworn to secrecy…well…I’ve seen pictures of the inside of the satchel on disboards & tumblr, so I’m totally okay breaking that pact…sorry Flynn!! It’s of course, Rapunzel’s crown! If you ever get the chance, ask to see what’s in there, it’s so gorgeous, and every last detail is worked into it. Like, Disney, doing it right! Talk about commitment! Also, I have to say that I love the picture of both Rapunzel and I looking into the satchel…..you can’t really tell where we’re looking with Flynn’s back turned…..

And then Mom jumped in for some pictures!

They were both seriously fantastic, and were so good at getting SO much interaction with me, I was very impressed. Mom definitely commented that I had held up the line a bit, baha! It was true, I had only planned on getting the video, but it took a lot longer once the satchel and them talking got into play. Oh well, it was awesome!!

Snow and her Prince were up next, and honestly, I couldn’t tell you what we talked about, at all. They were good, we chatted and got our pictures.

Then last, but not least, were Cinderella and Prince Charming!

They were super good, but again, I couldn’t tell ya what we really talked about or anything, nothing could really compare to the first couple we met!

And there ya have it! We were probably in and out within 10 minutes, obviously we didn’t have long to wait once the doors were open, thankfully we had gotten there as early as we did! I was happy, now it was only a little bit past 7:00, and we had a party to complete! Let’s do this!

I'm so excited to read your Halloween party posts since I was at the same party I got to meet Flynn and Rapunzel that night as well and they were one of the best meets I had, well with the possible exception of Pooh and the gang during the fireworks when Piglet got scared, covered his head and knocked off one of his antenna which was super hilarious Anyways, I digress. I also got Eugene to give up what was in the satchel and he told me Rapunzel and I were practically the same person since we were so hyper and talkative and excited about everything They were amazing!
Yay for a new trip! I think we're going to be there at the same time. I'm so excited, fall is such a nice time to be there and I love all the characters you can find at the Halloween party, so of course that's a must. And I am curious to see the Villain party on the 13th. Oh so much to look forward to.

Thanks!! I did end up actually really enjoying it! I was super impressed with my Mom's ability to throw together a costume like that. She also kept telling me that she should have made my Alice one and I should have gotten someone else to make the Peri costume, she really didn't have fun with that one baha!

Dear god, the hours I have spent on etsy looking at stuff, one shop "neverbugcreations" i believe that's it, has amazing, perfect, park accurate costumes, but they're SO pricey, and Janet, mom2trk on the disboards here has some amazing stuff too, I'm definitely getting one of my costumes for this year from her!

Haha thanks! Glad you've enjoyed! I definitely wanted to attempt to "drink around the world" kinda thing, and there's always fun cocktails to try in Disney. In terms of non-alcoholic make sure you try the LeFou's brew! It's tasty! Have a magical trip!

Ladies and gents! It's an exciting day today, I finally got the photopass CD in the mail today! FINALLY! Luckily for you, I've typed up a bunch in advance, and it's posted and on the go! Here's the link:

Mom and I headed down Main Street towards the hub where our next plan of attack was of course, more characters!

We jumped in line for the Tremaines, since they were right there, and noticed that Bert was behind us!

This of course, was just a guest dressed up, and Mom made some comment about now they’d have to do a little dance, and he seemed kinda put off, and said that he couldn’t do anything like that. I understand that you don’t want to get in trouble with the Disney uppers when you’re in a legit costume, but Mom seemed kinda shut down from it, she was just trying to be friendly! Of course, there were plenty of other people in costumes now, and this girl, well, she certainly knew her role!

Totally adorable! I noticed that it was pretty much time for the Mix & Mingle to start, and there was no way that we were going to make it to the front of the line before it started and the Tremaines disappeared for bit, so I suggested we come back later and head to some different characters first!

Mom seemed kinda confused, but followed along anyways. Since we had headed into Adventureland, our first stop was the veranda of course, and who was there but Jane, Tarzan & Terk!! ACK! Of COURSE we jumped in line. Now, I’m 98% sure it was while we were in this line that I got spotted by a fellow Disboarder! I can’t remember what her name, or disname was but she was dressed as Tink, and said that she had read a bunch of my TR’s and it was nice to finally meet face to face! So, hello! Hahah It was nice to hear a lot about how my TR’s are lovely while I was down there this trip!

The wait was a little long for these guys, but we did manage to get to the front of the line eventually. Honestly, I’m pretty sure the wait was longer than expected because they were talking, A LOT with every guest, the interaction was seriously amazing, they had so much to say!

Jane was absolutely PERFECT, and I mean perfect. I’ve watched Tarzan a couple times in the last little bit, and more before I had gone on the trip, and she is seriously just one of my favorite characters overall! I mean, their story is so different, and their romance, UGH, like, the way that they look at each other, and they really take their time falling in love. Jane is just perfect, and this meet and greet was amazing! They even had us posing like gorillas for the picture!

Jane was definitely making gorilla noises too, and then was all “I’m the only one making any noise, now I just look silly!”

Also a fact: Tarzan….that’s a lot of tanning/bronzer. Seriously, that friend of his must have quite the hassle getting all that ready for the Halloween parties! Mom and I thanked them and moved on through Adventureland, Captain Jack was out and about, but his line was horrendously long looking, so we skipped over him and settled on some photopass pics in front of Pirates!

This point of the night was really just a lot of wandering, I hadn’t really had as much time as I would have liked to do my research for the party, and what characters were out and where they were, so I was just going off of my knowledge of last Halloween. Because of this, Mom and I were pretty much doing a loop of the park and seeing what characters we wanted to get in line for, and the next ones we found were Aurora & Prince Phillip over near the Expansion.

I remember this Prince from last Christmas, and Aurora, well, a very good friend of hers has a tumblr that I follow (I’m like 99% sure haha). So it was pretty cool to get home and realize that! They were both super sweet and kind as they said hello and took pictures!

I had also heard report of the expansion being open during MNSSHP, I guess there’s a little bit less crowd, and people are focused on different things at the party, so the area wouldn’t be as crowded. Not that the rides/Belle meet and greet/restaurants would be open, but I just wanted to go look around at all of it!! Unfortunately, nothing was open, so we continued along our way. The next stop would be a good one, as it was our very good friends, Alice & the Hatter!! The line was a bit long, but wasn’t too bad, and the wait definitely wasn’t as bad as the Tarzan & Jane greet was!

Now, right around this point, when I got to the front of the line, and had already started to walk forward to the two greeting everyone, the handler called out to Alice “Okay Alice, it’s time to go!” SERIOUSLY?!? I had heard the handler say that there was 5 more minutes, but that had not been 5 minutes ago!

Alice of course was a little put off by this and actually said “No! I can’t leave now!”

She couldn’t leave the meet & greet right as someone dressed as her, who clearly was in line to meet both the Hatter AND ALICE. Like really, you could have waited until after us to call her for her break. Thankfully, Alice was beyond great and made sure that she chatted with me and made the protest to at least get a picture before she left!

Thank goodness for good characters! The whole time this was happening (and seriously it all happened in a span of under 2 minutes!) Mad Hatter was yelling “No! Go! Go! We’ve already replaced you anyways!” Ha, good one Hatter!

By this point in the trip I had an old autograph book out as I was starting to get a lot of repeat signatures, so Hatter had a bit of trouble finding a blank page, and started saying “Where’s Mickey Mouse, I’ll just sign over his name!” I definitely thought he would, but he ended up finding a blank page to sign. He also signed a post card for my other roommate Krista while we were there.

He was seriously great! It made up for the fact that Alice had ran off just at the beginning of the meet and greet!

We just KEPT taking pictures with him, and of course, we had one last one to take that he went “QUICK, NOW LOOK AT YOUR WATCH AND BE SCARED THAT YOU’RE LATE!”

HA! Mother… now, somewhere along our adventures between Tarzan and Aurora, Mom’s clock fell off! It was just a coaster stuck through her little neck satchel thing with a pin, and as any pin trader knows, those things fall off pretty easily. When she noticed it was missing at first she was super sad, and of course, this picture proves it! We thanked the Hatter for his awesomeness and continued on our way!
