Love the Tusker House pictures! Although you're totally right, a Character meal with children must be totally stressful. Especially if you have multiple children.

Those performers in AK are totally awesome!

I have to make sure to keep an eye out for Daisy and the ducks next time. I totally missed them!

Love the shots with King Louie and Baloo. Can't wait to see the FOTLK photos!

It's got to be crazy!!

Thanks! Mom had a blast!!

It was a great week! I believe you were wearing green (Tink?) that day! Sounds like I just missed your Dismeet with Jess at Hollywood Studios. We were there that day but had left already.

Awesomw!! We had a blast!! And yeah! I was Disneybounding as Tink that day! Aw man, we were at DHS that whole day too!!

I know I've said it before, but I really love how much your mom got into the fun of meeting characters and being in Disney!

It made me super happy she was into it! I mean, she wouldn't have had a choice, but she really enjoyed it! Bahaha!

I have second (or third or fourth) how adorable your Mom is. Truly precious memories being made :thumbsup2

She's adorable!! I can't wait to go back!!

Slowly catching up on TRs after coming home from Disney. :(

You got some great pictures on the Safari, especially of the Lion. All I usually get is blurry pictures of him sleeping.

I've never eaten at Tusker House. It's one of those that's on my list to try someday. The problem is, I'm just not a fan of breakfast foods so I would have to go for lunch or dinner. I am thinking about it for Oct since Donald is DH's favorite character.

Looking forward to seeing more pictures of FOLK!

Haha at least there's TR's to write And read to keep the magic going!! I'm so happy we could see them! I thank the am Emh!!

Do it!! Paige and I did lunch there and it was awesome!! Definitely do it!!

Bahah!!!

Mom and I lined up around 20 minutes early, and were right up by the doors to the theatre, I wanted us to be able to get good seats for the show, and we definitely did! Yay! After being taught the hand jive by our camp counselors, the opening crew came out to entertain us for a bit!

Oh hey good looking! Baha, judging by the pictures, we were in the giraffe section...boo…I feel like that’s the least fun of them haha!

65.jpg

66.jpg

68.jpg

This part’s so awesome….how it goes all silent, and the “animal” performers come out and it’s all awesome and amazing and you’re all “what’s gonna happen next?!”

69.jpg

70.jpg

71.jpg

And the show begins! UGH! When everyone starts coming out, and there’s just so much going on, tumble monkeys are running amok, there’s performers and floats literally on all sides of you, it’s amazing!

72.jpg

73.jpg

There’s the leader of our gang!

74.jpg

75.jpg

761.jpg

76.jpg

I’ve never actually realized how few performers this how had, the “chorus” type group seems really big, but it’s only 8 people, plus like, 4 on stilts. Defs thought there was more than that haha!

77.jpg

78.jpg

Timon comes up and starts the show, but I mean, who can start a show when there’s crazy monkeys running around?!

79.jpg

80.jpg

Well, he kind of gets the show going at one point, but we can’t hold those monkeys back from the spotlight forever!!

81.jpg

82.jpg

These guys really get into that hand jive! Haha, it’s pretty intense at points! Bahah.

83.jpg

84.jpg

85.jpg

86.jpg

These guys sure know how to put on a show, and that’s a fact! They’re so impressive!

87.jpg

89.jpg

90.jpg

91.jpg

Ugh, if I was one of these tumble monkeys, I think I could get away with eating all of the things, bhaha! I sure to miss gymnastics for being able to load the heck up on carbs and not have to worry about a thing. Now it’s all chicken and vegetables, lawl.

92.jpg

93.jpg

95.jpg

96.jpg

97.jpg

There are a couple of points in their performance that it seriously looks like they could oh so easily crash into each other. Like, if they were an inch off in one direction, BAM. Ugh, that would hurt, a lot. I also love how much these guys ham it up, the entire time, like, they’re just big goofballs! Hhaha.

98.jpg

99.jpg

These guys…not so much in the goofball category!

100.jpg

101.jpg

102.jpg

103.jpg

Yup….here’s where things certainly get *heated* up…aahahaha…so punny…

104.jpg

105.jpg

106.jpg

107.jpg

I have to say, this guy’s super impressive! I definitely wouldn’t want to have his job, talk about a risk taker haha!

Aaaaand here it begins, are you guys ready for this? Because there’s about a million photos, for your own sanity, I’m only sharing a fraction of them! I also apologize that some of them are so dark, I’m still figuring out using my camera indoors for dance, and photobucket doesn’t have great editing skills!

108-1.jpg

Prime example!

109.jpg

110.jpg

111.jpg

UGH. Can we just talk about how it had been nearly 5 months (ETA: technically since posting it’s been like two weeks…but it’s still the same} since I had seen this show, and I was absolutely dying by this point, this dance, these dancers, make my life! When I’m working out, or just don’t want to work out, all I have to do is play the video of FOTLK and I’m there, or pushing myself the extra mile. I would LOVE to have this job, and I’m going to work hard to make sure that I can live my dream!

113.jpg

114.jpg

115.jpg

116.jpg

117.jpg

Seriously perfection!

118.jpg

119.jpg

120.jpg

121.jpg

122.jpg

That one ended up being one of my favorites that I managed to get, I mean, just look at the sheer happiness on her face, she’s one of the dancers that absolutely loves what she’s doing, not just doing it to do it, UGH, so many feeeeeels!

123.jpg

125.jpg

126.jpg

127.jpg

128.jpg

129.jpg

130.jpg

131.jpg

It’s just so beautifully amazing. And to add a bit onto what I said earlier, I’m working towards being *able* to audition for this roll, and you may ask why, well, the dancer is required to be under 115lbs.(Eta: They changed the weight restriction this Feb to 11o pounds....) Yikes! I’m not sure if it’s because of the harness work she does, or the fact that the routine has like, a million lifts in it, but it is totally justifiable. (And from what I’ve heard, in the professional dance world, they weigh you every week) So, fingers crossed that either A.) I can lose 10 pounds by February (and that my dance competition doesn’t clash dates) or B.) If the show closes, I have another whole year to accomplish everything. We’ll see how things end up!
ETA: Adding in here....none of that happened, LAWL! Next year!

See? Too many pictures of just one dance number to put into an update…I am le cray cray.

132.jpg

133.jpg

134.jpg

135.jpg

136.jpg

I’m seriously hoping that I get a chance to live this dream, it would just be too magical, I mean, could you imagine getting to do this every day as your job?!

137.jpg

138.jpg

139.jpg

140.jpg

141.jpg

142.jpg

143.jpg

And the costumes! Ugh, they’re so awesome in this show, I mean, I know they’re all basically a onsie with different things/layers on top of them, but still, what’s done with them is pretty awesome!

144.jpg

145.jpg

146.jpg

147.jpg

Halfway into the jump!

148.jpg

149.jpg

150.jpg

151.jpg

It also makes me happy that the performers (the non-equity ones like the monkeys, birds & singers) get a chance to be actually up on the “stage” for a bit while the other ones take a break. Everyone gets to share the spotlight!!

152.jpg

153.jpg

Look at how perfect and awesome she is! Seriously, she just seems like she would be such an amazing human being to meet. I’ve seen some dancers in this role (who yes, I will say, sometimes it’s the 2nd or 3rd performance of the day, but really, they should be keeping the energy at the same level through all of them) who just seem to go out, not be smiling, and just going through the movements, this girl, she’s smiling, laughing, she’s in love with what she’s doing, you could just tell. It makes me really happy to see performers like that!

154.jpg

155.jpg

156.jpg

157.jpg

I swear sometimes I take pictures that aren’t of the bird dancers! Ha!

158.jpg

159.jpg

160.jpg

161.jpg

This girl, wow wa we wa wa, can she sing!!

162.jpg

163.jpg

164.jpg

And there ya go, the show is over, the pictures are finally done (for now, don’t forget that I saw this show another 3 times in the trip. HA!) I, much like every time I watch this show, had tears in my eyes, and Mom turned to me and just asked “We can watch that again, right?!” Uhm…no….once per trip is more than enough, I mean, I’m nearly crying because I hate the show so much…WHO DO YOU THINK I AM?! THIS IS MY DREAM!! OF COURSE WE CAN WATCH IT AGAIN.

Pretty sure I just said something like “Of course! I could watch it all day”. This show was seriously all of my feels, it was the best. Thing. Ever. And the girl singing circle of life, she was absolutely incredible, the note she held right at the end, was the longest note I had ever heard. This: gdfndafdngfdkngdafdsfndfnadfdakfad is how I felt. (Also, side note; apparently I’m turning into my Gramma because every time I talk about a person who is female gendered, she’s girl, not woman, or young woman, just girl, no matter the age….)

With FOTLK over for now, we exited the theatre and jumped right in line for Pocahontas! I hadn’t seen her out in a while, and had been told that she wasn’t really ever out anymore, so it was pretty awesome to see her out and about! Yay!

I also noticed that Pocahontas looked an awful lot like a certain friend of Jasmine I had met on a previous trip…hmm…very possible! It looks like we went up separately, even though there was a photopass person out with her, oh well!

165.jpg

We chatted for a little bit, and she asked where I was from, when I told her Canada, she said that that certainly was a super long canoe ride, and I must have some strong arms from that. Yeah, canoeing from up here would be one heck of a journey, that’s for sure!

Photo0215FourBySix.jpg

Photo0216FourBySix.jpg

Mom went up after me, although I have no clue what the chatted about, I’m sure it was adventurous!

With our adventuring over in the Camp Minnie Mickey end of the woods, I knew what I wanted to do, and that, was go up against a yeti, so we headed over that way next!

Wonderful pictures, as always.

Also, I've heard (and this is by no means a "for sure"), but I've heard that Disney is planning to start new FOTLK construction in Africa soon WITHOUT closing the current location. So hopefully it can just slide over when it's ready without having to shut down. Because AK without it would just be incomplete.

I can't believe that you saw the FoLK! :rotfl: Seriously though, I'm glad that your mom liked it too.

Ummmm, Pocahontas better be out in July. Maddie is insisting on wearing her Pocahontas outfit to AK during the trip just to meet her. I really don't want her to be disappointed. :sad1:

I love all the FOTLK pictures! Seriously, I looked at these updates like 4 times cause I love them so much.

I'm totally sad because in planning the WDW wedding that I want (after the day comes when I'm actually engaged and planning a wedding :rotfl:), I was totally planning that our reception would be at the FOTLK but I was looking at the WDW Weddings site a few weeks ago and it was no longer listed as a reception site! :(:furious: I don't know if it's because of the show moving or maybe closing or whatnot but they better put it back or I will be seriously unhappy!

Anyway, so cute that you and your mom were on the same page about seeing FOTLK again!

Yay for Pocahontas! I love that your mom has a pink princess autograph book too! :cheer2:

To answer Shannon: I think Pocahontas is always available to meet but I think she's one of those characters that only comes out for like 15 minutes at certain times and then they close her line. And it seems like she meets in different spots in the park depending on the day :rotfl: but I'm sure with some proper stalking you and Maddie will find her!

Sigh.... I want to be back there so bad. Great pictures from FOLK. I mostly get blurs of light because my camera doesn't take good pictures in the dark.

I had a family sitting next to me that had never seen FOLK. They thought there was going to be real animals. :lmao: I set them straight and enjoyed watching their reactions to the show. Took me back to the excitement I felt the first time I saw it.

Thank you!! And yes, it's been officially announced now that they building the new theater then moving the show over! It will have to be closed for a week or so in there to get everything set up of course, but this is a much better option than closing the show! Lol

I admire your dedication towards achieving your goal.

Thank you!!

I know, right?!! Huge twist of events!! I facebooked you about Poca, but she'll definitely be out, and actually one of the girls I follow on twitter/her TR here gets to hang out with Poca a whole lot! Maybe you'll see her!

I love all the FOTLK pictures! Seriously, I looked at these updates like 4 times cause I love them so much.

Oh yay! Thank you!!

WAIT WHAT?!?! I so didn't know that was one of the reception options?!?! AH! Although I think I will stick my dream plan: early morning ceremony in front of the castle, do photos, then everyone runs around the parks and plays all day before doing a reception at be our guest, *sigh* one day it'll happen bahaha!!

Sigh.... I want to be back there so bad. Great pictures from FOLK. I mostly get blurs of light because my camera doesn't take good pictures in the dark.

It's taken forever for me to figure out pictures in there, I need to look into it more for next trip.

Aw! Yay! I can't wait to see it again!!

And of course, what kind of person can make it through a Disney park without stopping for some photopass pictures!?! Definitely not me, that’s for sure!

We got over to Expedition Everest, and I asked Mom if she did want to go again, not sure what the wait time was, but she said she did not want to go again, but would be okay waiting for me. I’m sure the time was around 20 minutes, I told her she wouldn’t have to wait, that there was a single rider line, so I’d just jump in there and meet her around the exit in a short amount of time.

Verdict: another great ride! And I was in and our in under 5 minutes! Heck yes!! Seriously, the single rider line is the best, and sometimes your group will still end up somewhat close together. I’ve got no problem with that! Hahha. Mom and I then continued on our way out of the park, this time going through Dinoland for a change of scenery!

169.jpg

I did bring up Dinosaur at one point or another, but I mean, I can’t explain that ride and make it sound good, when asked for a description, I usually say “It’s dark, scary, bumpy, and things jump out at you” Well, Mom doesn’t do bumpy, so we just bypassed that! Just back towards Discovery Island, there was a little dance party thing going on that we stopped to watch for a bit!

170.jpg

171.jpg

172.jpg

173.jpg

It was pretty cool, I was happy to see that they have more different kinds of entertainment around the parks now, it’s cool! (Although, if I had to choose between these, or more characters, I’d choose more characters! Ha!)

We were nearly out of the park when we had to stop for some last minute photopass pictures before we left Animal Kingdom!

Photo0226FourBySix.jpg

Photo0228FourBySix.jpg

This guy was great, and had us doing some animal faces, and some magic shots!

Photo0230FourBySix.jpg

Photo0232FourBySix.jpg

HA! I like to call that one “oh no! the ground!” Seriously. I had so much trouble with magic shots not turning up, but I just didn’t really care enough to email in every time to fix it, I’d rather get the cd quicker. Lawl.

With that, Mom and I left the park, and it was only 1:30! However we did have a long night ahead of us, and it was time for a rest, besides, we’d gotten there before 8:00 o’clock that morning!!

Where I left off, Mom and I had been leaving Animal Kingdom right at 1:30, and were headed back to the hotel for a little break. Before heading up to the room, we stopped at the Mara to grab some lunch and then headed back outside. I’m pretty sure we both got these salads,

1742.jpg

and they were super tasty. I will say that the ordering process was pretty confusing, you ordered, and then went back up to get the food, I liked that it was fresh and stuff, but there was just something confusing about it.

Mara Dining Review:
4/5
-Glad to see lots more healthy options on the menu
-Also, to go containers, including the lids for the salads, yay!
-It was never really that busy down there, so service was always nice and quick

We did actually take the salads back up to the room, and on the way up there, I complained that if there weren’t any GD animals out near our balcony, I may throw something. Like, I get it, you can’t really control where the animals are, but seriously, I paid extra, and it was closing in on the last day at Animal Kingdom Lodge & I was getting frustrated. Baha.

Luckily for any cast members down at the desk, we got back to the room and there were plenty of giraffes out and about right outside the balcony!!

174.jpg

175.jpg

176.jpg

177.jpg

YAYAYAYAYAYAY *Muppet dance* I was so pumped, I also took a picture and uploaded it to facebook to tell Cody & Rhys that I’d found the rest of their family and that they sent their well wishes! Ha, oh the crazies that I work with….theatre….

179.jpg

181.jpg

These guys were out and about in the savannah as well, and then a little baby giraffe came over to hang out and get some nom on with the other one!

182.jpg

183.jpg

Here’s just some pics of the whole savannah view from out balcony!

184.jpg

185.jpg

186.jpg

187.jpg

Yay, 2 giraffes nommin’ out right outside our balcony, how awesome!! Soon enough, they started wandering away, back out to the savannah that wasn’t around our room.

188.jpg

That was really only within the first little bit that we were back in the room, we spent the next say, hour and a half in the room. I spent a lot of time uploading photos and on tumblr/the disboards, and Mom spent some time napping. I also re-straightened bits of my hair, and woke Mom up around 3:45 to finish getting ready, it was the night that we were going to Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party! Yay!

You got some great PP photos. :rotfl2: to the one that's missing Stitch.

I agree that the Single Rider line is awesome on EE. I've never used it (was going to this last trip but a wonderful family gave me a single FP so I had two of those) but I've never seen more than 10 people standing in it. I wonder if people don't know about it because it's kind of off by itself. Now the single rider line for RnRC, that's another story!

AKL and WL are probably the only two Deluxe resorts that I have any desire to stay at. I priced out AKL fo our October trip but I just could not justify the extra expense. Oh well maybe someday when I win the lottery.

I would love to be able to sit there and watch the Giraffes though, that looks like a lot of fun.

I'm glad that you finally got to see some animals. I'd have been annoyed to pay extra and not see any too.

:rotfl: at your description of Dinosaur. I've pretty much told Maddie that she'll hate it and we aren't doing it.

Thanks for the tips about Pocahontas girls! I did get the FB message. You know us-if she's there we'll find her!

Can't wait to hear about the party!

Yayyy for seeing animals from your balcony!! We were only at AKL the last two days of our trip and I was sooo angry every time I didn't see animals! I know they can't really control where they go but the giraffe's didn't really come close to us. However, I LOVED this resort and we're staying there again in October.

Can't wait to hear about MNSSHP! My sister & I are going to our first party this year
