You Guys Part of the Family? You've Got the Magic In Your Eyes!!->Updated 10/19x3!!!!

I love, love, love MSEP! I can listen to the music from it over and over. I think I love it so much because I grew up watching it. I saw Spectromagic in 2010 and found it sort of creepy, especially the jester guys in the big balls. Guess it's all what you prefer! I will be watching MSEP in less than two weeks!! :dance3:

Oh and confession time. I have never watched Wishes from the Hub. :scared1: I've actually only seen it one time from Liberty Square and most of the fireworks were blocked by the buildings. I'm definitely going to fix that oversite this trip!

I totally understand your dreams for Disney! Well, I wouldn't want to be a performer but if there was anyway I could up a move to Florida and spend everyday at one of the parks, I would so be there! :goodvibes

Lol, I just don't know anything about Spectro, I'm just not really a fan of the night parade, ugh, but as I say that I think about how much I love the music ahha, I guess I'm torn!!

Shock! Honestly, Liberty Square was my go to place to watch it for a while, I was usually waiting for Tiana and Naveen to come out and I liked the view from over there, even if it was blocked slightly by trees!

Ugh, I would love that, I really just can't wait until I get a chance to be down there!

Ok, I've read many TRs with pictures of Wishes, and I almost did not lick on your link, but then I did, and... I teared up! Just after I finished reading your paragraph about liking Ariel's wish, the video got to that part. Magical!

You didn't like Magic, Memories and you?! It was my favorite night time show! It even surpassed Wishes it terms of making me tear up. Sure, I couldn't make out the smaller pictures, but the big ones yes, and all the parts with characters, and then Walt himself at the end... and the music! Oh, the music was phenomenal! I like the new Celebrate the Magic, but without the MMY music it's just not the same.

Awwee!! Yay!! I'm glad you ended up doing it. Honestly, I usually skim through Wishes updates pretty quick, there isn't much new stuff to see in Wishes pictures lol.

I'm not a huge fan o fit, and I really like the new show, it still has that Walt moment, and that was my favorite part of it. I can't say I remember much of the old show, but I know it wasn't my favorite thing!

I agree with you about MSEP. It was nice and I enjoyed it but I don't feel the need to see it again. Now the Celebrate a Dream Parade, I would watch that everyday. I would be happy to see Spectromagic come back because I've heard so much about it but never saw it :rotfl2:

I liked the MMY but I definitely like the new Celebrate the Magic better. Walt saying "I just hope we never lose sight of one thing, it was all started with a mouse"!!! OMG I'm tearing up while I type. I can't.

And Wishes. ugh, such a soft spot in my heart. I don't even know if it's possible not to fall in love.

You got awesome pictures with your phone!

I could watch the daytime parade over and over again, haha it'd be awesome.

AH! Tearing up just thinking about it, all the walt stuff gets me, it's awesome!!

Absolutely love wishes, and there's so many places around MK to watch it and still get an amazing view!! Love love!

Our fourth full day in the parks was yet another early one for us, we were up bright and early, possibly with coffee in the hotel room while we got ready. We were headed to Animal Kingdom today, and obviously, it didn’t take us very long to get there! Mom and I arrived and turnstiles were already open, which made me happy, I don’t mind getting places early and waiting, but I don’t like waiting at the turnstiles and then waiting at the tree of life again. Speaking of the tree of life, we were pulling up to it right at 7:49, yup, it was an EARLY one for us! Luckily, that meant we had some extra time for some photopass pictures!

I really like a lot of the new frames they have! I do wish there was more selection though, and it bugs me that some of the character photos have absolutely no borders whatsoever. Booourns!

Thanks to it being EMH that morning, it wasn’t super crowded, people sure don’t like getting up early, that’s for sure (and seriously, I only do it in Disney….probably helps that I don’t have to work until midnight when I’m on vacation, right? Ha!)

Mom and I didn’t have to wait long at the tree before heading off towards Asia right at 8:00 when the rope dropped! If you don’t know why we went sprinting (okay, not really, just walking) to Asia, well, it was for Expedition Everest of course! One of my favorite rides on property, and really, the only big coaster that I’ll go on. Mom had already braved Tower of Terror, and done the Magic Kingdom Mtn range, so this was all that was left. I told her she HAD to ride it at least once in the front, and once in the back, as the ride was completely different both times, and then of course, once more just for kicks. Lawl.

We were put somewhere in the middle of the train on the first ride, and Mom commented on how it was kinda eerie to have all the torn up tents and stuff in the cue, which is something I’ve never thought of. It’s always just been “oh yeah, yetti” to me, where as to Mom, it was “so many people have DIED trying to climb Everest, in real life” Like, ugh, sobering!

4.jpg

Well, did I love it? OF COURSE! Did Mom like it? Yes! She did, I was impressed, she said she did actually like the ride, and that it was pretty cool. She also made a point to tell me that I could have told her that she could have skipped the coffee that morning, adrenaline works as a wake up as well. HA! What was the next logical thing to do? GO BACK ON THE RIDE!! DUUUURRRRPP. Seriously, I would conquer Everest all day every day if I could meet someone who could keep up with me (maybe I would? Stay tuned!) This time through the cue took a little bit longer, and I made sure to ring some of the bells going through the first part, gotta ward off those evil spirits! I also made sure to ask for the FRONT ROW this time around.

If you haven’t had the chance to ride Everest in the front row, make sure you do it next time! Seriously, it’s one of the rides that is way more awesome in the front, I mean, like any coaster, it lags a bit going over the drops so that the rest of the train can catch up, BUT when it goes backwards, it’s AWESOME. Not to mention when you’re climbing up through the mountain, you can see Epcot, Hollywood Studios, AKL, and the Swan & Dolphin, like, you can see everything from up there! And to top it all off when you’re at the very top right before the backwards part, the view is just breathtaking. This is another reason I love doing it right first thing in the morning, especially on EMH days, it’s just magical. Anyways, I’ve babbled enough, here’s another redneck photo!

5.jpg

We got off the ride (jelly legs and all) and Mom asked what was next….uhm….we ride it AGAIN, what else?! This time I asked for the very back. Why, well because then you’re getting whipped around like crazy, and all the drops are wicked awesome!

6.jpg

When we got off, I asked Mom if she wanted to go again, and she said something along the lines of “I think 3 in a row is enough for now….” Wuss…. (joking! Love you Mom) All of the rides on EE were awesome that morning (I expected nothing less haha) We continued our way through the park towards Africa this time, and Mom made sure to stop and take pictures of the cool things that “we were going to fast to take pictures of before” Ha. Silly Mom. That’s how rope drop works!

7.jpg

8.jpg

9.jpg

There really is a lot of cool stuff around Animal Kingdom that if you’re too focused on getting from point A to point B you will miss, and Mom just picks up on it. Like, I’ve seen most of it before, but never thought “I should take a picture of that!” kinda thing!

I also took the time to check in some of the shops for something giraffe like for one of my roommates, who is obsessed with them. Like, we went to the zoo with him and another friend and the two of them wandered around all day wearing giraffe masks, went into the exhibit with the giraffes going “Moooooom.! Maaaaaaaaaaaaaam!” and such. They also did it again when we went to the zoo not too long ago. I know some weird people. I ended up buying him a pen at one point or another, figured it was something practical that he’d actually use. Then it was time for Mom & I to see some animals!

First of all, what in the world are you doing posting while you are at WDW??? :confused3 Go have fun!! :rotfl:

When I saw you were at AK, I thought "I'm going to see pictures of EE or FOLK". I was right. And yes, I've read too many of your trip reports. :goodvibes Glad your Mom liked EE. Of course if she didn't I'm sure you would have set her on a bench so you could ride a few more times!

I have to second the question of why are you updating while you're away?!

Although I do enjoy the update :rotfl2:

Aw how cool that your mom rides the roller coasters with you! My mom is so terrified of heights she gets scared when we're on an escalator :rotfl:

I love the AK photopass borders but I agree about the variety. What really annoyed me was there were a bunch of UP! ones available for my pictures and then when I actually got to the UP! pictures only 2 of them were available :confused3:confused3

And your mom is totally right about catching the theming of AK! I'm gonna have to make it a point to do so next trip! I always marvel over how pretty everything is and never slow down enough for a picture!

Hope you're having an awesome trip!

Kilimanjaro Safari’s wait time was posted at 20 minutes so we jumped right into the line! Yay!

10.jpg

11.jpg

With a 20 minute wait, I’ve noticed that you normally just walk right on, as it really takes that long to get through the cue! However today, I know we waited at least 20 minutes; Mom & I made it up to the stroller parking “turn off” and stopped, and waited….and waited…and waited…. Apparently a rhino decided to stand on the road and not move, and since they can’t really do anything about that, we were stuck waiting for a lot longer than we thought. Mom shared the piece of information that in Africa, the drivers just go off the road…there really isn’t a road when you’re on safari there…if only… Luckily it wasn’t too long of a wait eventually we got onto our jeep and were well on our way into the wild!

12.jpg

13.jpg

14.jpg

15.jpg

If I remember correctly, the first part of the safari was either very limited in its animal viewing, or just animals I didn’t want pictures of. Who knows? Haha!

16.jpg

17.jpg

19.jpg

20.jpg

21.jpg

Now that I’m seeing like, NO giraffe pictures, I’m pretty sure it was that there weren’t a lot of animals out today, or at least, not the amount I’m used to seeing on the safari! But hey, the lion was actually visible today, so that’s awesome!!

22.jpg

24.jpg

25.jpg

26.jpg

27.jpg

Yaaaaaay! Good pictures of the lion for once, seriously, so happy. I want to see it roaring one of these days, that’d be *totally awesome* (5 hypothetical bucks to whoever gets that reference!)

30.jpg

28.jpg

31.jpg

Oh hey buddy, you’re pretty close to the road…I think you must be the one that delayed our adventure through here…thanks…

29.jpg

The plotline with Little Red was completely gone from our safari, and honestly it was kinda boring today. I’ve always found it a little boring, but the cheesy plot line and jokes always kept it fun for me. Today there were no jokes either, and it was just kinda meh.

Not to mention, thanks to the rhino, we were a little late to breakfast (for my comfort at least…haha, I don’t think we were *actually* late). So where were we headed? Tusker House of course!

32.jpg

33.jpg

Yay! We checked in at the podium out front, and were let in pretty much right away. What did we think of it all? Stick around to find out!

Lol, I type up all my updates in advance so all I have to do is copy & paste!!

The borders make no sense about the borders, apparently they have to do with something the photographer scans in with, not the park/Place

Ah that make sense!

How strange about the Photopass borders. You'd think there'd be a better system!

I just re-checked your schedule and it seems like you came home today!

I hope you had a great trip and a smooth trip back!

Hi Katt, I've just come out of the woodwork on the DIS. I love reading the Disney experience from a fellow Canadian. Hope your having fun on your current trip!

Haha yeah, got home last night and went straight to work, ugh, then slept until 1:45pm today, ahaha! It was amazing. The trip was fantastic, definitely up there with the best ever, and the trip home was boring and long as per usual haha

Hi!1 Glad you're here to read along, the trip was great!!

Oh no! Straight to work after a Disney trip :crazy2: Yuck! But at least you slept in to make up for it :thumbsup2

It was so yuck! Lawl. And yesterday after sleeping in I trekked through the snow to meet up with the boyfriend, ahaha, NOT FUN! BUT we did watch Lion King 3D, so that was fun, and today is a day of disboards and relaxing/sleeping, hoping that I can get rid of this sickness, which Paige also got too! Booourns!

When I left off we had just checked in for breakfast and were pretty much right in, we stopped for a quick chat with Donald (NUMBER 1) first of course!

34.jpg

35.jpg

He’s so cute & I just love him! HANDS DOWN my favorite of the fab 5, and I’m actually really sad that he doesn’t come inside the restaurant at all. I’d like some more interaction with him!

Mom and I were directed inside the restaurant around to the right hand side when you come in the doors (as if you make a complete U turn when you come in so you’re back kinda “beside” Donald’s space) our table was in there, on the outside row (NOT against the wall). Our server was by pretty quick, pouring us some Jungle Juice and asking about other drinks, we both asked for a coffee, and then it was off to the buffet!

36.jpg

Mom’s plate is that one, it has a Mickey Waffle, some rice, plantains, melons, eggs, grapes and some bread of some kind.

37.jpg

And mine! RICE, some cornbread, some candied yams, banana bread pudding, cheese, grapes and ham.

The food here has always been something that I’ve loved and it’s always been a favorite breakfast place of mine, and today…something went a bit a miss. I mean, I was IN LOVE with that rice every past trip, I don’t know if it’s cause we were a little bit later in the day, but it was NOT good, it was hard & crunchy, maybe just under/over done? Who knows. I was disappointed to say the least. Luckily the ham, and cheeses, and banana bread pudding was still super good. And of course, even if the food’s not too great, there’s still characters!

38.jpg

39.jpg

Mickey came along first to say hello (I swear, Mom was NOT crying anytime around now, she just looks like she’s going to burst into tears in that first picture….god only knows…she was just really excited?! –this would be a good time to jump in Mom!--)

40.jpg

Next came Daisy, and she was feeling SASSY this morning, like hand on the hip, walking like a model, like, hoooly cow she was weeeerking it. Werk gurl.

41.jpg

By this point in the trip we’d clearly seen a LOT of characters, and some of them more than once, so Mom would just ask me “Do I have their autograph” and I’d have to tell her. Ha! Imma be such a good Disney Parent! Like, both autograph books together, with 1 pen on top, photopass card & camera out (and turned on) all ready to go. Kid in appropriate costume….you know…HA. God I’m crazy.

42.jpg

Goofy was next, Mom seems to like him a lot, she gets excited when it’s time to meet him, maybe it’s because he’s so silly?!

43.jpg

45.jpg

Clearly there’s some loving going on there! Haha. I will say, character meals sometimes get annoying, like, you’re constantly standing up, then sitting down, just to stand up again (at least we were at this one, I guess the characters were really close together?) and if you’re taking the photos at a close enough range, the person taking them needs to stand to make them look better, and it’s just a lot to do while trying to eat. I can’t imagine doing it while trying to get a child fed…props to all you parents who manage to juggle all of that!

Overall, I was kinda disappointed by Tusker House this time around, don’t know why, I felt the food quality wasn’t as good, and I had another meal booked there with Paige. Who knows how it would turn out!?

Tusker House Review:
3/5
-Food not as good as I remembered
-Service not as good
-It seriously just takes WAY TOO LONG, you’re either waiting around for the bill, or waiting around for the characters, there’s too much waiting around at it.

Mom and I paid the bill, and made our way out of the restaurant, making Camp Minnie Mickey our next target, but of course, we got distracted! There was this little band of people playing out in Africa, getting the crowd involved, bringing birthday people out to dance, you know, the usual!

46.jpg

47.jpg

48.jpg

49.jpg

It was super high energy and they were all really into it, it was awesome! We stuck around for a bit before heading over to CMM, where there were a ton of characters out!

50.jpg

Just kidding…that’s just a really neat bench Mom took a picture of…but the next one is a character picture, I promise!

52.jpg

Heehee (apparently I’m in a mood). So many people just walk past Daisy and the ducks, seriously, I don’t think I noticed them the first couple of times I was at Animal Kingdom! When we finally did round into Camp Minnie Mickey, we saw someone who I thought to be a rare find!

53.jpg

55.jpg

Pocahontas! Needless to say, I was pretty excited, but her line was already closed for this set, so we figured we’d come back in a little bit. She also looked an awful lot like a friend that was hanging out with Jasmine at my last trip…who knows?

56.jpg

Chip and Dale were out and about (‘scuse the random family) but we didn’t stop to see them, we saw some other furry friends that excited us much more. King Louie and Baloo!! They were out where Donald used to be in CMM, it was odd to me as they were usually in that little spot between Africa & Asia! Since Mom missed out on dancing with him yesterday, of course we had to jump into that line!

57.jpg

Photo0211FourBySix.jpg

58.jpg

Mom of course jumped right up and danced with both of them, I mean, she had gone out into the Move It Shake It to dance specifically with Baloo and managed to not get to, so she was going to take her chance now.

59.jpg

Photo0212FourBySix.jpg

We got our books signed, took the pictures, and said goodbye. It was time to head around the corner to the Festival of the Lion King Theatre….and you all know what that means…a million updates of photos!! Yaaayyy

You and your mom are so cute together!
I saw you from afar last week in Fantasyland (can't remember which day....we seemed to park hop to the Magic Kingdom at some time every day!)

Thanks!!

Ah!! That's awesome!! Hope you had a great trip!! We were at MK everyday but the 25th, Paige and I are in love with the Move It Shake It and found a new friend in one of the performers, so we made sure to watch it every day!! Could have been any day!

Love the Tusker House pictures! Although you're totally right, a Character meal with children must be totally stressful. Especially if you have multiple children.

Those performers in AK are totally awesome!

I have to make sure to keep an eye out for Daisy and the ducks next time. I totally missed them!

Love the shots with King Louie and Baloo. Can't wait to see the FOTLK photos!

It was a great week! I believe you were wearing green (Tink?) that day! Sounds like I just missed your Dismeet with Jess at Hollywood Studios. We were there that day but had left already.

I know I've said it before, but I really love how much your mom got into the fun of meeting characters and being in Disney!

Slowly catching up on TRs after coming home from Disney. :(

You got some great pictures on the Safari, especially of the Lion. All I usually get is blurry pictures of him sleeping.

I've never eaten at Tusker House. It's one of those that's on my list to try someday. The problem is, I'm just not a fan of breakfast foods so I would have to go for lunch or dinner. I am thinking about it for Oct since Donald is DH's favorite character.

Looking forward to seeing more pictures of FOLK!
