KEVIN’S A GIRL?! Ahahahaha….seriously, everyone loves Up, but I feel like it just doesn’t get the appreciation it deserves. Like, it tells an amazing love story in the first 5 minutes in silence (and if you didn’t cry in that you have no heart) and then the rest of it has such an amazing story, and has some seriously HILARIOUS moments and such strong characters. UGH. SO MUCH LOVE.

236.jpg

Mr Potato Head’s eyes also moved back and forth every so often, hilarity at it’s best, at least they aren’t his angry eyes!

“No pictures please” Hahahaha.

243.jpg

There’s so much going on in that last Toy Story float that Mom didn’t even see Buzz, and was all “where’s Buzz, there’s no Buzz?!” Hahaha, oops! We slowly waited for the crowd to thin out, and made the decision to head back to One Man’s Dream to watch the movie.

This was the point in the afternoon that I was getting tired, was a little hungry, but we had dinner plans later, so I didn’t want to ruin my appetite. I had made reservations thinking it would take all day, and we’d want dinner, then to head into Fantasmic, yeah, not doing that again. I found that all I wanted was to head back to the hotel, there was nothing to do in the park anymore. However, there wasn’t enough time before dinner to get to AKL, relax, and get back, if I had made an earlier ADR, then we’d have more than enough time and just come back for Fantasmic later. Needless to say, I was a little grumpy as we simply wandered around in circles for a bit with too much time to kill.

244.jpg

245.jpg

246.jpg

Seriously, there were no new photopass people out, most of the characters were done for the day, the line was too long for TSM and getting a fast pass would be useless. I was tired, so watching a show wasn’t really a good idea. When we circled back to the hub Disney Channel Rocks was going on, so we stopped to watch that for a bit.

This is where I started to notice a lot of the same movers that were in the parade were also in this, so it appears you can do both in a day. Could you imagine doing DCR all day, plus the parade. Over in MK if you do the Move It Shake It, you don’t do the Celebrate A Dream Parade (in the same day…that’s what I seem to have figured out.) One of the girls was definitely new to the DHS shows as she had screwed up a move in the parade, and did it again during the DCR show. Oooops.

It was nearly 4:45, and in need of some air conditioning, we headed over to the Animation Building for some Characterpalooza!! I will admit, I’m starting to get bored by the characters that are out for this. There’s so many more rare or popular characters that are in Fantasmic, and I wish people like Megera would be out instead. Palooza seems to always be the same people now. Lol. Mom figured it’d be nice to meet Stitch, so we jumped over there during our air conditioned break.

251.jpg

252.jpg

Since it was nearing 5 o’clock now, and our dinner reservation was at 5:45, I figured we might as well head over there and check in early, maybe we’d get the chance to eat early!? Where were we eating though, well, you’ll have to stick around to find out!!

Mom and I got into over to the Echo Lake area to check into our dinner ADR. I had chosen this specific place because I had heard great things about the atmosphere, the schtick, and the fun. Since I work at a dinner theatre, and Mom enjoys going a lot, I figured we’d have fun here!

253.jpg

254.jpg

We arrived right at 50’s Prime Time at 5:04 to check in for dinner early, and were told to have a seat. Within 5 minutes, we were called in to the dining room for dinner. Yay!

255.jpg

Mom was completely in awe of everything around, as it was seriously, exactly like her house growing up. I know a lot of the furniture was the same, as it got moved into our garage, bahah! It was great. I even said to her “I booked this cause I heard it was fun, I didn’t know we’d be reliving your childhood!”

256.jpg

257.jpg

258.jpg

We were seated in one of the little back rooms, where there was our table, one table that currently had a family at it behind me, and one table that had a tv with it, it was surprisingly quiet back there haha, and it was nice to have no one at the TV table so we could watch it from a distance.

Within a few minutes, Cousin Dale came over to our table and explained how everything worked with the dining plan, and what would be extra, etc. He was definitely loud and interactive, but also seemed more involved with the family behind us than introducing any new schtick to us. He left us with the drink menu, and this is when the honest, not so funny, shenanigans began. Cousin Dale came back and asked about drinks, we both ordered alcoholic ones, and he asked for ID, obviously I obliged, and he basically turned it down. Uhm…okay… He then proceeded to lecture and constantly repeat himself that it was Florida law that I had to have a passport as a valid form of ID, not my Canadian ID, and that if he accepted it and got caught, he’d be fired, have to pay the fine....etc. Well, folks, I’ve been serving bartending for years, I know what the law and penalties are if you get caught giving a minor booze. And he just kept going, to the point that I was seriously upset, I didn’t need the lecture, and I didn’t care for it, like, either break the “rule” and give me the booze, or just say “sorry, that’s not a valid form of ID” and make me order non-alcoholic, don’t stand there for 20 minutes lecturing me about how I should have different ID. And, for the record, not ONE SINGLE other place EVER said this rule existed, they all accepted my drivers, and said not a word. This includes the gift shop, everywhere in Epcot, other places in DHS, and Downtown Disney. Maybe one of you guys can shed some light on the subject? (Maybe it was a “house rule” of 50’s??) I had no problem had I been turned down booze, but with the constant lecturing and telling me what was right and what was wrong, I couldn’t deal with, it made me more grumpy/upset. I was already hungry and tired, and now was tearing up of frustration. Ugh.

And after all of that….he still gave me the booze…

259.jpg

260.jpg

And it came with a glowing light cube! Yay. I was a little disappointed that the meal had started off on such a bad food, because now Dale was definitely not schticking with us, maybe he felt bad, who knows? However, our meal was less than entertaining in the good way by now. We had ordered food at the same time as the drinks, and it all came out really quickly. 50’s is clearly a place that they have the food 90% ready, or it just needs to be heated up or something?

I got: “Dad’s Traditional Meatloaf” a “blend of beef and pork topped with tomato glaze served with mashed potatoes and green beans”

261.jpg

While Mom got: “Cousin Berry’s Olive Oil Poached Salmon” “mushroom ragout, bacon, and Swiss Chard on roasted garlic mashed potatoes”

262.jpg

I did really like the meatloaf, it honestly, was better than I had expected, especially the green beans. I added some more ketchup to it, but it didn’t need a whole lot. I was impressed, and it was some good “Mom’s cooking comfort food”. Mom liked the salmon, and ended up eating most of it. It was presented interestingly, and honestly, I find salmon and mashed potatoes to be a kind of odd combination, like, fish and rice usually goes together? Hahaha.

Cousin Dale wasn’t really into our table anymore, the family behind us left during the meal, and the TV table had an older couple sit down at it as well. Mom even made a point of putting her elbows on the table (I was making a point to keep mine off haha) right in front of Dale as he bussed our plates, and all he did was some off the side comment about how she likes to keep her elbows on the table. No trouble…nothing….boo. Lol.

Dessert was next, and I have a huge love for Smores, so obviously (even with the not so great reviews I had heard), that’s what I got!!

263.jpg

Mom got “Dad’s Brownie Sundae” a “brownie with vanilla ice cream, hot fudge, and caramel topping” Well friends, this isn’t your everyday brownie, take a look!

264.jpg

265.jpg

Wow wa wee wa wa!! It was HUUUGE, there was no way Mom was going to finish it, and she sure didn’t I don’t even think she ate half of it, there was just too much. She also said that the quality of it wasn’t that good either, she’d definitely had way better brownies. As for the Smores, they were good, tastier than I thought. I had heard that the chocolate sauce was the only chocolate part, but there was more chocolate between the marshmallows & the crackers. I also appreciated that the crackers were warm, so they didn’t crunch and break all over the place, it was more like a solid piece of the bottom of a cheesecake. They were really good, but I still only ate half.

Cousin Dale came back over to push the fact that neither of us had used our drinks for the meal since we’d both have booze, and that the smoothies & PB & J shake were both included in that, we both declined, and he pushed more, the PB&J was his favorite, and honestly, I was interested, but just not now. Hopefully I can go back just for the drink one day. I played the “lactose intolerant” card, but the truth was, I just didn’t want anything, I’m not going to waste nutrition and intake for drinks, it just doesn’t happen. To counter act the lactose card, Dale played the “smoothie” card as they were dairy free, he then told us that we could take them to go and they’re in Halloween souvenir cups. Well okay, fine, we’ll get one smoothie, haha. The smoothie was okay, and the cup was one of those not so nice cardboard ones, so we definitely weren’t keeping it baha.

50’s Prime Time Review: 3/5.
-Service was okay, he paid more attention to the other tables, and just seemed like he was busy, and not around a lot, but there weren’t a lot of people around.
-Food was good, could have been better
-Took no time at all to get food out, bonus!
-Atmosphere was awesome, and it wasn’t that loud (surprisingly) I know Mom enjoyed eating “at home” again haha.
-Obviously the ID thing took away from the whole experience.

Mom and I settled the bill and then took off, we were headed over to Fantasmic next!!

I love all the details in the parades right down to the tennis balls on Carl's cane!

I know what you mean about making dinner reservations too late. I tried to make ours towards the end of the day so we didn't miss a lot of park time but we ended up standing around waiting for our time a lot.

Bummer you didn't have a great experience at Prime Time. I've had great, fun experiences the times I've eaten there. It sounds like Cousin Dale took his lecturing a bit too far. I do love the meatloaf though, I'm not hungry after looking at those pictures!

"Up" is a great movie...although too sad to watch often.

Alright..ready for the next update:santa:

Ah man, that sucks about the not so great experience at 50s Prime Time. I don't know if you read the TR for my first trip (it is part of my Disneymoon PTR), but I too had a bad experience with being asked for an ID for alcohol. It was my fault though, the only time I did not bring an ID is the one time I tried to order alcohol. Sometimes it sucks that I look 10 years younger than my actual age...

Theyre awesome!! Disney does little detailing great!! I know!! Im all "cant waste park time eating!!" so i make adrs for when i think we'll be done and then theres just waaaay too much time!!

50's was good, but just a bummer at the same time, I do plan on going back at some point, probably with a group of people my age to cause shenanigana haha!!

Mom and I had left 50’s Prime Time at 6:15, totally our dinner time at over an hour, a little much, but hey, we had been trying to kill time anyways. We went straight into the Fantasmic line, as I knew it was going to be a long wait, and didn’t want to end up standing or in bad seats. They let us in the theatre at 7:15, and then we had a lot of time to kill/wait..

266.jpg

While we were loading into the theatre, we encountered some more rude people, the CM’s are all telling everyone to pick a row and “move all the way down” it so everyone can fit. Well, this family plonked themselves down right in the middle of one of the benches, and refused to move! When asked to, they simply said “we want to sit in the middle” Uhm…okay…the middle of the theatre…was the end of the row…I’m not even kidding you. They were told this, and still didn’t move. Mom said that if she was the CM she would have directed everyone else down their row so they had to be pushed past now thanks to their rudeness. Lawl.

They did a new (to me) thing today that was a little pre-show to keep everyone entertained. There was about 4 audience entertainers who went around, doing little trivia challenges, the wave, organizing stuff like that, all on microphones so everyone could hear, it was at least something to watch instead of just sitting for an hour or two!

268.jpg

One of the things they did right as the lights went down for the show to start was to get everyone going was for everyone to raise up/wave around something that glowed, whether it was a cell phone, lighter, light up toy, just do it! Yaaaaaaay.

267.jpg

Then, it was showtime! I hadn’t seen Fantasmic since last September, and Mom hadn’t seen it since 1997, and that was over in Disneyland. Before the show we talked about that, and how much I’d loved it then, and made sure that we watched it more than once while we were there. When I had finally seen it again the previous year, I hadn’t been too impressed, so we’d see what tonight held!

Pretty cool stuff so far!

273.jpg

274.jpg

276.jpg

The Mouse himself controlling it all, I mean, that’s what imagination is for, creating whatever you please!

277.jpg

278.jpg

279.jpg

There’s some pretty school stuff out there!

280.jpg

Also can we talk about how when it goes black, and the GD canon goes off, absolutely everyone in that theatre jumps/screams. SERIOUSLY. WHO THOUGHT OF THAT. They are a cruel, cruel person! Bahaha.

281.jpg

282.jpg

283.jpg

284.jpg

285.jpg

Pretty decent zoom if you ask me!

286.jpg

My favourite princess!! (who I’ll finally get to meet in her fin next trip!)

287.jpg

288.jpg

289.jpg

291.jpg

292.jpg

How they do all of this I have no idea, it seriously blows my mind how incredible it is!! Also, look at how cute scared Mickey is!

293.jpg

294.jpg

295.jpg

296.jpg

I’m sorry, but Malificient has got to be one of the biggest bad guys, like, she freaks out over not being invited to Aurora’s birth…and then curses her…like…way to be evil! (correct me if I’m wrong, I’ve seen that movie like, twice)

297.jpg

298.jpg

299.jpg

Mickey saves the day! Cause in your imagination you can create anything, and you can control it!

300.jpg

301.jpg

There’s the money shot! (I’ll admit to being rather proud of that picture haha) And the most amazing part of the show.

302.jpg

303.jpg

304.jpg

305.jpg

And that would be the part where my freaking emotions just explode and I lose it. Hahaha, I managed to keep it controlled with Mom there, but usually I’m dying. I don’t know what it is, but from the time the boat goes around until the end of the show, I’m a bawling baby, there’s just so much magical amazingness I can’t even deal with it. I’ll totally admit that typing these updates up I was tearing up. UGH. Disney does emotions right.

Overall, I definitely forgot how much I loved the show, obviously I hadn’t seen it in a while, and wasn’t impressed the last time, but something clicked this time. Maybe my perspective on Disney has changed? I don’t know, but some things are even more emotionally moving now, sometimes things just make me emotional when I’m at home, but in person I’m okay. Bahaha, I’m just crazy. Mom enjoyed the show too!

We took some time to sit on the benches while the theatre cleared out, honestly, there is NO point in joining in the hoard of people leaving all at once, too many people without manners and big crowds, gross. Mom and I then just exited the theatre and back to the bus stop, we didn’t have to wait long before we were back in bed for the night, letting our own imaginations take over!

Edited to Add: AAAAAAAHHHHH I JUST REALIZED SOMETHING. Fantasmic is a representation of WALT'S imagination! Everything he created is celebrated in this show, and it's all done through Mickey because he was Mickey, and Mickey was him. AAAAHHH. DEAD.
Day 2 Summary:

Ups: -Beauty & the Beast, I could seriously watch that show all day every day, I’ll be sad when they eventually get rid of it…
-Finding out just how awesome that camera of mine is and getting some great shots!
-Fantasmic (as I type this up apparently I’m in a glass cage of emotion, I can’t even type it without tearing up) Something about that show!!

Downs: Too much time in the day, should have made the ADR earlier to balance out a midday break
-Cousin Dale pressing for ID; the way he did it, the fact that it kinda made the rest of the meal not good.

Food of the Day: Smores!

Your Fantasmic pictures are great! It's my favorite of the night time shows but I don't make it there very often. I just don't like dealing with the crowds! Last time I saw it was May 2011.

Thanks!! I really really do like it, and I usually don't mind the crowds or the waiting, it could be worse haha!

Our imaginations had been resting and relaxing for not very long when the alarm went off the next morning! I sprung out of bed at 6:30am and we started getting ready while eating some yogurt/fruit in the room to tide us over the morning. Today I was “Disneybounding” as Tinkerbell, and had new Mickey Ears to wear, it was exciting!

(For those of you who don’t know what Disneybounding is, it’s when you wear real every day clothes that are inspired by a Disney character’s look, I had a cute little green dress, and would throw my hair up into a bun to complete the Tink look haha)

Mom and I were down at the bus stop for 7:07, pretty EARLY, but there were definitely a lot more people on this bus for EMH’s than there had been for Epcot’s! And where were we headed to today? Well….

1-1.jpg

It was a bright and early morning at the Magic Kingdom, nice and sunny and hot for a lovely day exploring. As you’ve noticed, I like to take advantage of EMH, especially in the AM, seriously, some of them are absolutely amazing, you can finish so much in that first hour. Now, at Epcot, you don’t really need them, especially with TT being closed, lawl. MK & AK, totally worth it though.

Mom and I arrived extra early to be sure that we didn’t miss the Rope Drop show, as it’s one of my favorites!

2-1.jpg

Has anyone who’s been there since like, June, seen the Mayor? I’ve only been seeing the Fire Chief recently!

3-1.jpg

4-1.jpg

5-1.jpg

6-1.jpg

7-1.jpg

I just think it’s such a cute and adorable way to open up the park for the morning, though I can’t imagine how early you’d have to be up to get to work on time if you were part of it! (Like, think about it, wake up, drive into WDW, get all your hair & make up ready & get your costume on….and be ready to go for 7:30….you’d have to be like, up at 5:30…gross…haha)

8-1.jpg

10-1.jpg

11-1.jpg

One thing that bothers me is that on the Four Parks One World CD, the version of the song is not the same as the one that they use. Disney REALLY needs to release another CD that has all the park music on it (like, this, all the parades/little shows, and the B&tB show) it’d make money!

12-1.jpg

13-1.jpg

14-1.jpg

The show’s also another great way to involve a family even more into the magic, it’s so awesome! (FOTD: Thurs Sept 13/2012)

15-1.jpg

16-1.jpg

17-1.jpg

18-1.jpg

I also love that all the characters come out to say hello, it adds to the show even more! (Also, little tidbit: if you lag back a little bit on entering the park, and pay attention while walking down Main Street, all the characters from the show walk from the train station to their meet & greet areas down Main St!)

19-1.jpg

20-1.jpg

21-1.jpg

22-1.jpg

Even though we had already been to Magic Kingdom on this trip, there is nothing greater than walking around that corner right after the morning show, and seeing the castle in all its glory. Ah-may-zing. While we were around this point we were walking beside a little girl about 6, who was just having the time of her life. She turned to her Mom and was all “Mommy, do you believe in dreams? I sure do! They come true!” I nearly cried, GADFASDJNFLDJ!! <-emotions. The sad part of it was that her Mom seemed more intent on their touring plan to even really hear the girl say it, she kinda just brushed it off like “yes sweetie”.

23-1.jpg

24-1.jpg

*sigh*

Mom and I continued on down Main Street towards the castle, and let me tell you, it’s seriously one of my favorite views, ever. Especially this one:

26-1.jpg

Ugh, Partners, this statue, especially right in front of the castle, warms my heart, there’s so much love for it, and in it, Walt was Mickey. UGH, feels!

27-1.jpg

Since we were headed over to Fantasyland, what would be a better way to begin the day than to walk straight through the castle?! I also stopped right at the start of the tunnel and turned around to face Main Street, this would really be the only time you’d see the view until it was night. The view, well, not just the sights down Main Street, but the view from the Dream Along With Mickey Stage!

28-1.jpg

29-1.jpg

It’s weird that a view of some cement and a street can mean that much to someone haha, but really, I *will* be on that stage someday soon, it will happen, if you believe, anything can come true! (For the updated record: auditions are Oct 20th, and I will not be going, I’m just not ready, and I feel like it would be a waste of money right now. I’m going to wait the year out to get as much dance training as I can and actually be ready!)

30-1.jpg

31-1.jpg

32-1.jpg

Mom and I continued into Fantasyland with our first destination in mind, something that you really have to do first thing in the morning!!

33-1.jpg

34-1.jpg

Especially when that’s the wait time! WHAT, WHAT?!? 5 minutes? Well, of COURSE we jumped right in line to fly over London & Neverland, and it was quite the adventure!

35-1.jpg

36-1.jpg

Between Mom & I’s little point and shoots, we managed to get two pictures, which I think is a pretty good feat for someone with not a whole lot of camera experience. Baha! I love PPF, it’s nice, basic, and adorable, and I really like how you’re “flying over” everything, it gives it a different experience than other rides. Mom really liked it as well, I mean, it is something pretty cool!

We finished our adventure through Neverland, and disembarked through the rest of Fantasyland. I figured we could do Phillharmagic later, when we weren’t wasting valuable morning hours, and really, our next stop was over in the 100 Acre Wood!

37-1.jpg

Yaaay! One of my favorites! Now…I’m gonna go on a 90’s kid rant for a little bit right now, bahah. I really wish that there were more Disney cartoons on DVD, or even on TV nowadays, like, I heard the Little Mermaid tv show is on Disney Junior now, but I really wish the old Winnie the Pooh cartoons were on all the time, or at least the holiday versions of them. I really do like the new movie, it’s absolutely adorable and hilarious, like, really, if you haven’t seen it, take some time to watch it.

I think my main point of this rant is that I wish the original cartoons were available on DVD, or it’s going to reach a stage where kids only know the characters from the new playhouse Disney stuff….ANYWAYS. The wait was super short and we jumped in line.

38-1.jpg

39-1.jpg

40-1.jpg

Poohsticks!! If you didn’t play this as a child, you need to go find some sticks, and a bridge & river and play it…NOW. It’s seriously so much fun, even though it’s just ridiculous, I loved playing it!

41-1.jpg

42-1.jpg

Today would also be the day of “adults playing like kids”, I mean, that’s what Disney is for, Walt himself said that Disneyland is a place where everyone can come and play and be a kid, so I mean, why not play?

43-1.jpg

Heh heh heh, this was just the start!

44-1.jpg

I feel like this stack of books is new? It’s right at the start of the ride, before you go in, I didn’t remember it from July.

45-1.jpg

46-1.jpg

Hooray!

47-1.jpg

What a great start to your magic kingdom day!

Merry Christmas to you and your family!

016_zpsb271ca87.jpg

So I'm just jumping in here to say: Happy New Year to all of you, and I've got some exciting news!!!

My next trip is OFFICIALLY BOOKED!! That's right, we're going back, and I'm using my AP for its last trip down to WDW (SUPER SAD FACE) Seriously, it's gotten me through 5 trips already, one that was 2 weeks long, and it was well worth the price. Who knows whether I'll be renewing or not.

ANYWAY

Paige & I (I surprised her with the trip for Christmas/her birthday, video to come!) are going down with 1 or 2 friends, they're still maybes right now.

When: Feb 24th to March 2nd! One day in each Disney park, and we're venturing to Universal to check out Harry Potter.

I'm dying of excitement and cannot wait to go home with my pixie sister, YAY! And now back to our regularly scheduled programming:

48-1.jpg

Here’s another picture that just torments with my life and all of its emotions!! If you haven’t seen the pictures, you really need to look at them, especially the inside of Be Our Guest, it’s absolutely amazing and I’m pretty sure Imma cry when I see it in person, seriously, it looks so amazing. I was originally going to go down for one of the AP previews, but they filled up before I got online. There are rumors of them adding more AP previews, so hopefully I can make one of those, I’m just dying to see it!

I asked Mom if she wanted to do the “little kid” area of rides, and she said sure, I mean, we had more than enough time, so let’s head over to:

49-1.jpg

Yes…I referred to it as the little kid area, but really, there’s the Barnstormer and Dumbo, if those are two kid rides, I don’t know what is!

50-1.jpg

The Splash & Play area…more like the “walk through once and get soaked” area, seriously, any kids I saw in there through the trip were absolutely 100% SOAKING. Just so you know!

51-1.jpg

That’s where we were headed! Haha, yup, Mom and I went on the Barnstormer! I really do like the “coaster” it’s a cute little ride that actually has some decent drops and swerves, so it gives you enough of a thrill to last a bit. I just wish it was longer…and the seats a little bit wider, it’s a tight squeeze sometimes! Baha

53-1.jpg

54-1.jpg

The new Dumbo area is all super cute, and I really do like that they’ve got Timothy up there too!

55-1.jpg

I do love that you can see the castle from everywhere in the parks, it’s the icon! Mom also really liked the Storybook Circus costumes (as do I, they’re super cute!) so she stopped to take a picture of one of the CM’s in the area!

56-1.jpg

Funny moment, he had a hat on, very much like the one Mom had been wearing on our Epcot day, and when she asked for a picture, he said “Oh sure, just let me get rid of this hat, it’s ridiculous!” Bah! Truth.

Well, now Fantasyland was completed for us, and we weren’t even finished with EMH yet! Mom asked if I wanted to do the Teacups, and I said only if we were in costume for MNSSHP, then it’d be a possibility haha. Too Dizzy!

Wait times were still super short, so into Tomorrowland we went, over to help save the world from Zurg!

I explained to Mom that this was kind of like TSM, but just with a button, and to shoot the Z’s! Honestly this ride’s a lot harder to me than TSM, it’s something about the aiming, and then not knowing if it’s your laser or someone else’s hitting the target. Boo.

61-1.jpg

Overall, we didn’t do too horrible, and I’m sure the world was saved! Next up, we decided it was time for a ride that would move us around a little bit while we took a break off our feet!

Ahh the People Mover, how I love it! It’s so cool that it goes through Space Mtn, and just all around Tomorrowland, I mean, you get to see everything on that ride!

Yay for blurry! Lawl, it’s the little “Community of Tomorrow” somewhere along the ride haha.

And apparently Mom likes to take pictures of me when I’m not paying attention…rad… Well, AM EMH were nearing a close now, it was 9am, and we had already finished 2 lands in the parks, and they’re the only ones open. Seriously, if you can get up early, DO the EMH for MK, they save so much time, especially when you’re a character hunter like me and would rather spend the day hours in line for them, and I mean, I’ll wait a lot longer for a character than a ride haha. Speaking of which, we headed across the bridge towards the hub to do exactly that!

Mom and I headed back towards Fantasyland and made our first stop of the day with the park officially open, to go see one of our favorite heroines, Merida!

70-1.jpg

I had seen Brave before Mom did, but when I went up to Edmonton during summer, I made a point of seeing it with her, it’s just such a great Mother Daughter movie, and I figured doing something Disney together before going to Disney was an added bonus! Haha. I really do like how this meet & greet is set up, I honestly think it’s a lot better than the whole “dancing and coloring” with Rapunzel & Flynn. It still gives the kids something cool to do while their parents wait, but it doesn’t take up time from adults/people who don’t want to color. They’ve also got wicked awesome costumes! (sorry for the blur!)

In total we waited maybe 10 minutes to get up to the front, from the very start when we got in line (before they had let any people in). It was great, Merida took notice of my green and called me Tink!

73-1.jpg

She then mentioned that Tink and Periwinkle had been flying all over the Magic Kingdom earlier dropping pixie dust everywhere! There had been a lizard that got stuck flying that she had to save, and the fairies managed to get her brothers, and with the ability to fly, they “borrowed” some candy, the little thieves!

She was super awesome! I’m always a little worried with Merida, as some of the videos I saw at first just had horrible accents. I mean, I don’t blame them, Scottish is one of the hardest to do, but she really was great!

Since the park was now open everywhere, Frontierland was our next stop, but not before taking some lovely pictures in front of the castle!

Now, is it just me, or is that one crooked? That seriously wasn’t the only one like that either….hmm…

Now, it was around this point that I took off my Mickey ears, I didn’t know what it was, but they were seriously hurting my head. Not like the “little bit of pain” you get from wearing them & sunglasses all day, but like, felt like it was bruised for the rest of the week pain. Ugh. When we got back to the hotel that night I compared them to my silver ears and they were a decent amount smaller….weird…

The themeing in this park is just absolutely amazing. Seriously. Little fact, did you know that you will not be able to find any bathrooms in Liberty Square because in that time, they didn’t have bathrooms? Mind blown. They keep it pretty accurate! Along the way over to our next destination, I spotted another feathered friend, and there was literally no line, so we jumped right in!

It was definitely proof that Donald’s spot really isn’t the greatest for pictures this time of day. It was also proof that Mom would be able to put up with my character obsession, especially since I’ll go meet characters I’ve already seen, bahah!

Mom takes lots of pictures, including of Turkey Leg shirts. Gross. Turkey legs gross me out enough, but then there’s the giant scary birds that wander so close to you while you’re eating them (the ones that hang out over in Frontierland, you know the ones) they’re like carnivorous, GROSS.

We made it past everying and headed to Big Thunder Mountain first! I hadn’t been on it in a while, and I *think* it had be refurbed since I had last been on it, but I didn’t notice much of a difference. However, it was still fun! And better than I remembered the WDW version being! Yay! Also, it’s longer than the Barnstormer, yay! Mom like it too, of course.

Our desire to get wet wasn’t really there right now, it was still early, and we’d already ridden Splash, so we headed behind Pecos Bills over to Adventureland!

Yay for a new trip booked! I'm seriously considering a trip in March, probably the 7th through the 12th but a lot of stuff needs to come together before I can totally commit.

It's great that you got so much done before the park was even officially open! I've never ridden Barnstormer so it is on the top of my list for the next time I go. DH is going with me in October and that coaster is just about his speed! :rotfl: Mom and I did get on Dumbo though, I hadn't ridden those since I was a child.

Sounds like your meet with Merida was awesome! I'll have to keep an eye out for Fronter Donald because he is DH's favorite character. And while I'm not all that into characters, DH is.

Great pictures of Liberty Square and Fronterland! Everything at Disney is just so photogenic it's hard not to snap a ton of pictures.

I was terribly far behind! Love the Merida photos, someone at my house is OBSESSED with Brave right now. I'm just glad that I made the dress this fall so she'll have it for the next trip.

I love morning EMH at MK. Lately though we've been doing character breakfasts so EMH don't work for us.

I'm so excited!! It's gonna be great!! I did want to wait a little bit more to finalize things, but the discount was only until the 31st, so I had to book, and hey, it makes it more exciting!!

Words cannot express how much I love the AM EMH, they're awesome!! I was seriously impressed with how much we got done before the official opening. I usually do AK EMHs and then we just end up riding EE a million times and doing the safari, there's just not as much to do in the morning, but it does get us out of the park earlier than usual, which is nice so we can continue with our nighttime plans!

Merida's great!! Ah! Donald, like, I don't care how many times I've met him, as long as he's wearing a different outfit, I'll meet him again!

Thanks!! Mom has to take credit for those though, I guess I've seen it all enough times that I don't even really think to take pictures of those kind of things, but since it was her first time, she was all "Oooh, ahhh" and everything, lol!

Hahah, thanks!! Bahaha! I got Brave for Christmas but still haven't managed to watch it! I absolutely loved the movie though, and the fact that she's more of a "stand alone" princess, she's strong and doesn't want the prince, like, I know all the princesses have their strengths & the love just enhances them, but hey, Brave is just amazing!

Hahaha, So true! There's always the one or two dresses that kids never seem to take off. For me it was a Snow White nightgown one, I wore that thing everywhere! Do you guys have an idea on when you'll be back??

I'M ALWAYS SO TORN!!! I absolutely love the EMH, but then I also love the pre-park breakfasts, and love character meals early in the day, I never really know what to do haha
