"You Guys Are Cast Members... Right?" - A December 2011 TR

Love LOVE the recap of the Castle show! I think it's an amazing show, and I made John video it from start to finish. Kadence and I watch it when we are feeling our Disney withdrawals.......which is a lot some days.

I gotta say .... as much as I adore Disney ..... the thought of getting the POTC ride water in my mouth .... gives me the heebs. :lmao: Loved your update though.

It's almost embarrassing how many updates behind I am! Ahhh. Here we go.

Aww Holiday IllumiNations is beautiful! I'm glad you loved it so much even though you only saw it from the bus. I miss ittttttt.

Bahaha I would totally have done the same thing you did and followed my speedy friend while everyone else ditched us. :rotfl: But yay for World of Disney! FAVORITE STORE!

Was the Christmas Crew Neck the red one with the Mickey and Christmas lights? Because I definitely got that one!

Yay for getting to your room! Aww the first night is always the best... I WANT TO GO OH MY GOD. I miss it so much. I hate not knowing when I'm going back!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bahaha I don't know how you survived on such little sleep! I would have slept like a rock! You should have brought a sleeping bag so you could sleep on the floor  The innoventions loop was a good idea though!

I NEED TO CATCH UP ON ONCE UPON A TIME OH MY GOD. I have literally only seen the first two episodes and I haven't had time to watch anymore. I NEED to WATCH IT!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

YAY FOR CRYSTAL PALACE! Oh my God that's just my favorite breakfast buffet in this entire world.

Aww Piglet! That's such a cute picture of you all!

I MISS MICKEY WAFFLES AND POOH'S PUFFED FRENCH TOAST. I JUST WANT THEM RIGHT NOW OMG :sad1:

LOL Disney bacon just is terrible. Let's be honest. :rotfl:

Kristen was marching with us until she hit the buffet, and then she made a sharp left turn to the food!

HAHAHAHA OH MY GOD THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I WOULD DO. :lmao:

The beautiful Magic Carpets of beautiful Aladdin. (The name is currently being changed.)

BAHAHAHA YESS YES YESSSS :rotfl2:

Awwww I'm so glad you got a good Aladdin! That's just the best!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree.. Davy Jones was way better!

I think the thunderstorms you're referring to are the canons! Those canons shoot SO much more water now... Sometimes even more so than Splash Mountain in my opinion!

I'm glad that I can physically hear Peter Pan saying "Did someone say adventure?" in my head with the appropriate soundtrack that follows it. Like seriously... I AM OBSESSED.

Okay I'm FINALLY caught up. Yay, yay, yay!

That show does look really cute. We've never watched it very well, but maybe someday. Or maybe I'll just put the music on my iPod.

So Pirates of the Caribbean water really does taste like it smells!

I love the pictures from Magic Carpets of Aladdin. That's always a fun ride.

Great updates! AHHH Aladdin and Jasmine were on the carpets??? That is amazing! :lovestruc I have yet to see a character ride a ride. I'd love to see the Alice characters ride the teacups!

Well thank ya! YES they were! It was so great. Oh my gosh, I'd love to see that too! Her and the white rabbit! That would be so adorable to see.

I've never been on the carpets, I will have to give them a try on our next trip, they look like fun!

Yeah, you should! I mean, they're basically Dumbo in Magic Carpet form, but you have the added bonus of spitting camels! Plus the scenery in Adventureland is great! I personally think they're a lot of fun hehe.

Awww, Aladdin and Jasmine sound like they are so much fun to meet! I'm so nervous to meet any of the characters that talk, but I've read so many good things about Aladdin and Jasmine meet and greets lately, that I might give them a try! And it will be our anniversary trip, so maybe we can talk to them about that! (I'm always afraid if I meet the talking characters, my mind will go blank and I'll just be staring at them like some creepy jerk or something!)

They were! I loved them. I was really glad that those were the first 'talking' characters I got to meet, because they made it easy! You should definitely meet them in May! Especially if it's OUR Aladdin hahaha.

OMG I need to meet Pirate Goofy. Brandon never wants to wait in the line for him, but I'm going to make him wait this May, I mean, how long can it take?

YES YOU DO! Oh my, he was adorable! It really didn't take long at all! Although I will say that we kinda lucked into meeting him because we just happened to see him come out when we were going into Pirates... but I bet you could find out when he's out in the Times Guide or something!

Ugh, I can't believe you got the water from Pirates in your mouth! That kind of happened to me, except it got on my camera, and I freaked out that my camera wasn't going to work anymore. So I guess it's not the same. Still, it was annoying! :rotfl:

Hahahah yeah, I know right? Although, I wasn't too surprised. I'm a magnet for that kinda stuff! Oh my gosh it got on your camera? AH! Did anything happen to it?

yeah, we saw Jasmine on the carpets too! Aladdin wasn't there yet. :(

Hmm, that's weird! :confused3

Love LOVE the recap of the Castle show! I think it's an amazing show, and I made John video it from start to finish. Kadence and I watch it when we are feeling our Disney withdrawals.......which is a lot some days.
Hahaha thanks! I know, I loved it too! Hahah I'm glad yall video-taped it, that's awesome! I took a video of it for all of 90 seconds... Oh, I definitely understand the Disney withdrawals! It's cute that yall watch it. :goodvibes (I do the same thing hahah!)

I gotta say .... as much as I adore Disney ..... the thought of getting the POTC ride water in my mouth .... gives me the heebs. :lmao: Loved your update though.

Hahaha! I understand! It definitely gave me the heebs for a little while... so note to everyone: as amazing as Pirates is, don't sit there with your mouth open. Thank you!

I am slowly but surely catching up on your report, but I just wanted to say....

YAAAAAAAAAY for BAY LAKE TOWER!:banana::banana:

That's going to amazing! :cloud9::love:

It's almost embarrassing how many updates behind I am! Ahhh. Here we go.

Hahaha you weren't too far behind, it's all good!

Aww Holiday IllumiNations is beautiful! I'm glad you loved it so much even though you only saw it from the bus. I miss ittttttt.

Oh my gosh, it's the best. (We probably saw it from Epcot later in the trip...) IllumiNations is great year round but I love the extra 'Let There Be Peace on Earth' at the end. SO beautiful! I miss it too. :(

Bahaha I would totally have done the same thing you did and followed my speedy friend while everyone else ditched us. :rotfl: But yay for World of Disney! FAVORITE STORE!

Hahaha right? And they didn't actually mean to do it! I think at that point we were all experiencing a severe sugar crash from the Kitchen Sink!

Was the Christmas Crew Neck the red one with the Mickey and Christmas lights? Because I definitely got that one!

YES! Hehehe I ended up getting it later in the trip too! Isn't it the cutest thing?

Yay for getting to your room! Aww the first night is always the best... I WANT TO GO OH MY GOD. I miss it so much. I hate not knowing when I'm going back!

I know! I'm glad I realized I didn't know where I was going before I took off wandering around the resort... who knows what could have happened? Hahah. Aww, I know. It does stink when you don't know when you're going back. Do you at least have an idea of when you might go back?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Bahaha I don't know how you survived on such little sleep! I would have slept like a rock! You should have brought a sleeping bag so you could sleep on the floor  The innoventions loop was a good idea though!

I have no idea how I did that either, to be honest! By the end of day 2 I was running on... six hours of sleep in two nights! Goodness. Hahaha, a sleeping bag would have been a good idea!

I NEED TO CATCH UP ON ONCE UPON A TIME OH MY GOD. I have literally only seen the first two episodes and I haven't had time to watch anymore. I NEED to WATCH IT!

Oh my gosh, yes, you really do!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

YAY FOR CRYSTAL PALACE! Oh my God that's just my favorite breakfast buffet in this entire world.

It's my favorite too! Like honestly I don't even like buffets in real life but in Disney that is my PLACE! :rotfl:

Aww Piglet! That's such a cute picture of you all!

Aw thanks! I love my Piglet, that's for sure.

I MISS MICKEY WAFFLES AND POOH'S PUFFED FRENCH TOAST. I JUST WANT THEM RIGHT NOW OMG :sad1:

I MISS THEM TOO AND I DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY WE CAN'T JUST HAVE THEM RIGHT NOW. What is that?

LOL Disney bacon just is terrible. Let's be honest. :rotfl:

Right? Like, what the heck with the Disney bacon? I don't think I've ever had a good piece... yet for some reason I always just have faith that it will be good. And it never is! Silly me. Silly Disney bacon.

HAHAHAHA OH MY GOD THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I WOULD DO. :lmao:

Hahahah! She's a frump too.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

BAHAHAHA YESS YES YESSSS :rotfl2:

If there's one thing I know about Aladdin... it's that he is beautiful. Hahah!

Awwww I'm so glad you got a good Aladdin! That's just the best!

I was glad too! And like he was PERFECT. I was so glad that he and Jasmine were my first 'talking' characters because they were really just so easy-going and awesome!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I agree.. Davy Jones was way better!

Yeah, that was a pretty unnecessary change! BUT I heard that they MAY be changing it back... so here's hoping!

I think the thunderstorms you're referring to are the canons! Those canons shoot SO much more water now... Sometimes even more so than Splash Mountain in my opinion!

Okay, you're probably right. I think someone else said that too! I'm pretty sure that it was right after the hill... I was very surprised! All I know is that next time I will leave my mouth CLOSED. :rotfl:

I'm glad that I can physically hear Peter Pan saying "Did someone say adventure?" in my head with the appropriate soundtrack that follows it. Like seriously... I AM OBSESSED.

Hahaha exactly! It's okay to be obsessed. We all are. It's just NATURAL. :thumbsup2

Okay I'm FINALLY caught up. Yay, yay, yay!

YAY! I'm so glad you're caught up again! Thanks girl! :goodvibes

That show does look really cute. We've never watched it very well, but maybe someday. Or maybe I'll just put the music on my iPod.

Hahah well I suggest BOTH! It's a very fun show to see AND hear!

So Pirates of the Caribbean water really does taste like it smells!

Well... I enjoy the smell for some reason! :rolleyes1 But all I know is that it does not have a pleasant taste. Hahah!

I love the pictures from Magic Carpets of Aladdin. That's always a fun ride.

Thank you! It is a lot of fun, isn't it? It's so simple but still so fun. :goodvibes

I am slowly but surely catching up on your report, but I just wanted to say....

YAAAAAAAAAY for BAY LAKE TOWER!:banana::banana:

That's going to amazing! :cloud9::love:

Oh yay! Thank you for catching up! Oh my gosh, YAY is right! I'm so unbelievably excited to stay there! :woohoo:

By the way, I followed you on twitter today because I recognized you on Caitlin's twitter! Hahah hope you don't mind!

We met Jasmine right after that and I asked her where he was, she said they'd had a magic carpet race and somehow his carpet didn't get him there on time. So I didn't get to meet him!

That stinks! I love Jasmine, but Aladdin is the main draw for me. Maybe yall can meet him next time. :thumbsup2

Oh, not at all girl! Thanks! :goodvibes

Hahah just wanted to make sure. No problem!

Oh you definitely should! I love him, he was adorable.

I know, I really loved that show! Hahah you're right, fireworks make everything better hahaha. :rotfl:

I just found your TR! I've got a lot to catch up on, but I am here and reading!

OH! Congrats on Bay Lake! I am soooo jealous!

My first comment on your TR is yay for CM discounts! My two friends just went down for the College Program and my sister and I are hoping to get a chance to go down! I really hope that we get to, and I hope the discount is good! (i hope that doesn't sound rude!)

Can't wait to catch up and read more! :)

Hey! Glad you're here!

Thank you! I can't even believe I'm staying there, I'm so excited!

Hahah yay is right! I hope yall do get to go visit them! NO that doesn't sound rude! I understand, Disney gets expensive! To be honest I'm not sure how much the discount was, because I didn't book it. Maybe 15%? I will have to ask Amanda, who did book it! But anything helps!

Well thanks for commenting! I really appreciate it. :goodvibes

The One Where We Venture To A Place That Is NOT A Zoo

December 15, 2011

After a viewing of an adorable castle stage show, we were ready to go to one of the other three parks! So we ventured down Main Street and out of the Magic Kingdom for the day.

GUESS WHAT WE GOT TO DO THEN??? WE GOT TO RIDE THE MONORAIL. Like, REALLY this time. It didn’t have to be checked or ANYTHING. We got to ride it! YAY. I told you, I’m obsessed.

We got off at the Ticket and Transportation Center and headed down the ramp to catch a bus to Animal Kingdom!

The bus was pretty full, so we all stood in the front. The ride to Animal Kingdom from the TTC was pretty long, but for some reason I remember it being fun. Hahah, because ya know, bus rides are ALWAYS fun with us.

So, I know that for whatever reason, some people don’t really like Animal Kingdom, but I would never understand that because I LOVE it!

Maybe it’s because Animal Kingdom is home to my absolute favorite show in all of Disney, maybe it’s because I’m an animal lover, maybe it’s because my favorite rollercoaster is there, or maybe it’s because the Tree of Life absolutely fascinates me. Whatever it is, all I know is that I LOVE ANIMAL KINGDOM. In fact, it was the first Disney Park that I EVER visited! Needless to say, when we arrived at Animal Kingdom, I WAS EXCITED.

SDC11189.jpg

I love Animal Kingdom’s Christmas tree! I think it's my favorite of all the park’s Christmas trees. Like, look at that big lion! Notice the large stars/snowflakes in various sizes and colors! Marvel at the oversize ornaments that are literally just animal heads! I’m not even being sarcastic, I really love this tree and I would like a replica of it.

Anyways…

After we entered the park, the first thing we realized was that it was actually hot out! Luckily I had on my trusty pants that you can fold up! Yes, I do that. I intentionally wear that kind of pants (I have multiple pairs) at Disney in December when it could be warm or chilly. It works out really well and only ends up looking slightly dumb! Just a little tip!

We also decided we needed some water, so we bought some more bottles. I was already building a very solid collection. You know what’s funny about that? I don’t even like bottled water. I’m strangely picky about it. I honestly prefer tap. But I was THIRSTY (which is a normal thing for me, all the time) and Dasani was going to have to do!

At the little souvenir stand where we bought our water, Sally found the Minnie Mouse ears of her dreams: giraffe print! If there’s one thing you need to know about Sally, it’s that she’s obsessed with giraffes. She snatched those up right away! She was ecstatic. (You’ll see them later!)

Jenelle could only stay for a little while, and we were trying to decide where to go first: Camp Minnie-Mickey for the Festival of the Lion King, or Asia for Expedition Everest. I asked her which one she’d rather do right then, and she said Festival of the Lion King. Well, works for me!

Some scenery on the way to Camp Minnie-Mickey…

Sidenote: You know how in Animal Kingdom there are a lot of bridges, and the water and scenery is so beautiful? Well, when we were there, the water was all green and murky. It was disgusting. It made me sad. I hope it’s clear and pretty again in July. For that matter, I hope it’s clear and pretty again every day from now on, because EW.

When we got there, we had a little while to wait before the show was going to begin, so we decided while we waited, we wanted to meet a character or two!

I wanted to meet Thumper and Miss Bunny, but their line was closed. So we got into Minnie’s line! Minnie went to check on her Christmas cookies while we were in line, but the wait still wasn’t bad. Yay! I was excited to be able to meet her in her precious Christmas outfit!

Minnie just loved us! We showed her our nails and earrings (Minnie nails, Mickey earrings) and she was so flattered, of course. :cutie:

Remember when I said that Sally’s autograph book was going crazy and making noises by itself? Well, Minnie Mouse definitely noticed! She kept putting her hands over her mouth in exasperation, and then shrugging like she was trying to say, “Girl, what’s going on over there?”

After a lovely meeting with the Main Mouse’s Misses, it was time to head into the theater for Festival of the Lion King!

Kristen and Ryan had decided that they would skip the show so they could meet more characters, so we decided that we would all meet up later at Expedition Everest.

I would have loved to meet more characters as well, but I can’t go to Animal Kingdom and NOT see Festival of the Lion King! It’s my absolute favorite show at Disney. This was our only time at Animal Kingdom on this trip, so I wasn’t going to miss my favorite show! So Jenelle, Amanda, Sally and I headed into the theater and got seated. And WHERE did we get seated? THE LION SECTION! Of the three times I’ve been to Disney/seen this show, TWO of those times I’ve been seated in the Lion section. I’m just awesome like that, yall. Of course, to be completely honest, I don’t care where I’m sitting. As long as I’m seeing this show, I’m happy!

When we first sat down, there weren’t too many people behind us, and we all still had our Minnie Mouse ears on. I didn’t really think anything of it, until I got a tap on my shoulder. I automatically knew what the guy was going to say, so I said “OH, I’m so sorry,” and I took them off. So the guy says, “Actually, I was just going to ask how you were doing!” :rotfl2: It was hilarious. Honestly, if it had been more crowded in the beginning, I would have taken them off a lot sooner. I don’t want to block anyone’s view, and it’s not like I couldn’t put them back on later, so I had no problem ‘taking my ears off’ so he could see better.

FINALLY, the show started. As I’m sure you have all come to realize, I tend to cry a lot. This show is a major tear-jerker for me. I mean, they don’t even do it on purpose. It’s not like some sappy show with tug-at-your-heartstrings (ahem, cheesy) plot lines, but it doesn’t need to be. The singers are phenomenal, the songs remind me of my childhood, and the performers all seem to genuinely love their jobs, and it just makes me happy. It makes me happy, therefore I cry. I don’t know.

I will say that I never take many pictures during this show because I'm too mesmerized. I got some though, so I will obviously post them, but they're all pretty random. ANYWAYS.

SDC12454.jpg

SDC12453.jpg

An adorable little boy taught us folks in the lion section how to roar properly, and then IT… WAS… TIME… (cue the dancers.)

SDC12455.jpg

SDC10606.jpg

The tumble monkeys never cease to amaze me! They also make me nervous. Of course I know that they’re trained professionals, but even they can have slip-ups. OF COURSE, nothing happened but I still always tend to get nervous watching them.

Also… THE FIRE GUY? Okay, I have to say that the first two times I saw this show, I was paying more attention to SIMBA than I was to the fire guy. Why? Because the first time I saw the show I was also in the lion section, and being in the lion section, you have a very good view of Simba. I happened to notice during ‘Be Prepared’ that his facial expressions change and he just looks SO APPALLED. So I had to keep watching him, of course! It was hilarious! The second time I saw the show, I was in the elephant section, which also provides a good view of Simba, so I was watching him again to see if he did it that time. He didn’t. It must depend on his mood. :confused3

Obviously, I had been missing out on watching the amazingness that is fire guy. HE SERIOUSLY PUTS THE FIRE IN HIS MOUTH. OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS SAKES ALIVE. I could not believe I had missed that TWICE before. Wow.

SDC10607.jpg

During ‘Can You Feel the Love Tonight,’ Jenelle told us that one of the couples that perform as the birds is ACTUALLY MARRIED! How precious is that? Then she said, “WAIT, this is the married couple!” So naturally I teared up again because that is just the sweetest thing! The birds really are in love, yall.

SDC10608.jpg

Needless to say, I enjoyed the show IMMENSELY. It’s so beautiful and wonderful and just spectacular!

SDC10605.jpg

Oh, and incase you were wondering what Kristen and Ryan were doing while we were watching Festival of the Lion King...

OKAY, WHAT? How many people knew that you could meet Dug and Russell at Animal Kingdom? I HAD NO IDEA!

Anyways, after Festival of the Lion King ended, Jenelle had to leave, so we said goodbye and headed out of the theater. I had wanted to meet Chip and Dale after the show, because I've never met them. However, since the show had just let out, the character lines were crazy. So instead, we decided it was time to meet back up with Kristen and Ryan.

Do you know what that means?

…

IT’S YETI TIME!

Continued in Next Update

I've just learned a lot tonight! I've never noticed Simba's face during Be Prepared, but I'll have to see if I can manage to look at him next time. The fire guy is so impressive that it's hard to look away.

I didn't know that one of the bird couples were married either, but that's so nice. :goodvibes

I also didn't know that Dug and Russell were at the Animal Kingdom. Is it just me or does Russell look kind of weird?

The AK water was kinda green and murky when we were there too, I thought that was kinda strange too! But the ducks seemed to have no problem with it!

I had no idea that one of the "Can You Feel The Love Tonight" duos was married!!! That's so sweet! :lovestruc

Love that Tigger pic! That's awesome!

The Animal Kingdom Christmas tree is definitely one of my favorites, too! There's just something about it.

Yay for meeting characters! :goodvibes Aren't they just so cute in their Christmas clothes? :santa:

Festival of the Lion King! Such a great show! I'll have to keep a look out on Simba's changing facial expressions next time.
