Hey, I'm all caught up now! Woohoo!
I'm glad! I understand getting behind on TRs, I always seem to find myself behind on yours, too.
I agree... in the name of everything classic in the entire world, I love Small World. As Stacey would say, it's CA-LASS-IC. Sigh. I really hate not being at Disney. ugh.
I completely agree. OH, and I meant to tell you! Your McLovin TR was fresh in my mind when I rode small world, so I remembered to say hi to Melissa.Really though, why aren't we in Disney? This is ridiculous.
Yay for finally getting to go on the Pooh ride! Do you know about Mr. Toad handing over the deed? I finally spotted it on our last trip.
Yes! I thought that was so awesome. I didn't know exactly where to look though, so I was lucky that I had a CM sitting next to me to point it out!
So jealous you got pixie dusted, that is so awesome!
It was so cute. You should definitely do it next time!
OMG I miss that version of the must dos. I used to say "TRIPLE. MOUNTAIN. WHAMMY!" all the time. The Splash wait was 5 minutes a lot during our trip (which was right before yours if you remember) even when it wasn't cold. I guess people just don't wanna chance being soaked and having the wind kick up, which happened quite a few times.
IT'S ALL WHAM! I do remember, you left literally the day I got there. Sad!Yeah, you're probably right about that!
It sounds like you had a lot of fun on the Astro Orbiter... can you believe I've never been on that ride? It's the only attraction at the Magic Kingdom that I haven't done besides Tom Sawyer Island.
Yeah, you know, I think that ride is overlooked a lot. I even heard someone say they didn't realize it was a ride, they thought it was just part of the Tomorrowland theme! You should do it next time! It goes a lot higher and a LOT faster than Dumbo or the Magic Carpets, so it's a little more 'thrilling.'
Ahhhh I can totally smell that gingerbread at the Beach Club right now. OK now I am getting really sad WHY AM I NOT AT DISNEY. Oh man.
Omg, isn't it heavenly?!I want to be there right now so badly. Darn real life.
BEACHES AND CREAM!!! Oh my do I love it there. And I have the same pen as you and mine is broken as well! I have been wanting to get the Kitchen Sink for like, almost 10 years now, but I'm never with a big enough group.
Isn't that the cutest pen? My park bag broke it, haha. OMG you should definitely get the Kitchen Sink if you're ever there with a big enough group. (cough-girlsofthedis-cough.)
HAHAHAHA I *always* read "I KNOW" in Monica's voice. and I say it that way myself too. I mean, how could I not? I also do Ross' depressing "hi".
Hahaha! I knew you would understand. "hi." OH ROSS.
It sounds like you had such a great first day! I can't wait to read about the rest of your trip.
We really did. Ahhh DISNEY. I'm glad you're all caught up!
Isn't that awesome that you can see Wishes from that area too? One time we were all watching Illuminations from the African Outpost area, and we were able to watch both Wishes and Illuminations at the same time.
That's too funny that you pointed out the moon. I'm ALWAYS doing that to Wingnut, like "look at that beautiful sky!" "check out that cloud!". He's never THAT impressed.
World of Disney is SO overwhelming, I truly can only be in there in random off-times (like late morning) when it isn't packed. Even when it's empty, I think it's just crowded-feeling.
Oh, and is it strange that I think it's slightly funny that the two beds share a headboard in your room?It just looks weird to me!
It really is amazing! The best part was that none of us were really in the mindset that we MIGHT get to see the fireworks, so seeing them on either side of us was just awesome! How cool that you saw Wishes from Epcot?! I'm gonna have to keep that in mind!
Hahaha I understand that. You'd think everyone would be as thrilled! Sadly, that is not the case.

I agree. It's just too much, I think. I mean I love the fact that they carry so many products, but I think everything is too close together so everyone always ends up crowding around certain areas.
Haha! No, it's not strange. I think it's a little odd, too! Apparently all the All Star rooms look like that after being refurbished. When I stayed at All Star Movies, my room looked like this:

(Okay, that may not be the best picture because I only took a picture of one bed... BUT if you look closely you can see a clear end to the headboard, haha. So you can see, it was more normal before the reburshment!

Great 1st day! Y'all definitely got a lot accomplished!
I love both the Christmas store & World of Disney at DTD. I'm not a big fan of DTD but if we do go, those are the 2 stores I have to go into.
Can't wait to see what adventures y'all had next!
I know, I was so proud of us. It was an awesome day!
I agree! I'm really not the biggest fan of DTD, myself. The only reason I really didn't want to go into the Christmas store was because I knew I'd see something I couldn't live without and then end up spending WAY too much money!

Day 2 was a great one, as well! I'm excited to share it with yall!
Okay, I'm totally going to catch up! (even though I had to do the thing where I open up every single update I missed in new tabs to try and remember everything and end up with 50 zillion tabs. And I had to laugh at your 'only' updating once a week - if I could manage that, I'd be thrilled!Instead I will continue to lose to a snail in speed of updating races).
Hahaha, I can just picture this because I've been there too. It's easy to fall behind on subscriptions around here! Hahah, yeah. Well to be honest, I don't have all that much going on in life at this current moment, so that's why I'm able to update more frequently. I can only imagine how busy you are!
1) McDonald's is totally nutritious. They have salads, right? Salads = healthy. Nutritious!! That ToT billboard has been there forever and I hope they never take it away - it's practically a park icon!!
Of course. How could I forget about the salads? I agree, I love that little billboard. That one, the one for Mission: SPACE, and the one for 'it's tough to be a bug' are the ones I seem to see no matter where I'm going at Disney!
And you are incredibly lucky to have gotten to see the very photogenic orange monorail. Orange/blue is one of my fave color combos for pictures and brown monorail/dirty white GFlo monorail station cover just can't beat orange monorail/bright blue sky. Even silver is better! Ferry boats are an excellent means of transportation - my boyfriend converted me in our past trip even though we BOTH swore that we would never ride a not-monorail out of Magic Kingdom.
I agree! I love the colorful monorails and I feel like the ones I see the most frequently are silver and gold. We even saw the peach one this time, too!I enjoyed the ferry too! It was cool to see the Wilderness Lodge, and the view of the castle from the water was just spectacular!
2) I love the word 'queue'. Second only to the German word for line, 'warteschlange' (or waiting snake). Oh those wacky Germans and their compound words!! Though we always choose the snake with less waiting because we are impatient and thus have never seen the new queue for Haunted Mansion.
Hahaha, I love it too. I just find it funny and slightly confusing.THOSE GERMANS. Next time you should go through the interactive snake (his name is Q, by the way) and play! We had to rush through it a little bit, but it was still fun to see.
Mary Blair is a genius and I wish they'd done more movies directly from her concept art because SO PRETTY (also Cinderella's dress is weird and really anachronistic and I just want to fix it especially after drooling over the historic Disney princess series for months. And I like her 'casual' outfit better; I like most of the casual outfits better, especially Ariel's with the navy skirt? I would TOTALLY line up to meet navy-skirt Ariel, but I have weird priorities).
I agree! I'm honored to share a birthday with her.I know exactly what you mean! Ariel's casual outfit is so cute! I love her big blue bow. I'd love to meet her wearing that outfit! After all, she was wearing that during the 'Kiss the Girl' scene!
3) Gingerbread carousels are some of my favorite things EVER because what can beat the combination of gingerbread and fancy horses? Nothing! Beach Club is awesome (moreso because of Muppets Christmas Carol, my number one holiday movie ever. I may or may not listen to the soundtrack on a continuous loop throughout November or December).
Did you get to go see it on your trip? It really was incredible. I LOVE Muppets Christmas Carol. It's the best version of that story, ever, hands down. We're Marley and Marley, WOOOOOOOOO! (Ahem, basically I know what you mean about playing the soundtrack all the time.)
Beaches and Cream is too cute (even though I'm not a big ~fancy~ ice cream fan, besides the dulche de leche in Mexico. YUM). How nice to be mistaken for CMs! I don't think I could handle working in the parks themselves, day-to-day, but behind the scenes work would be such a killer job (plus I wouldn't get tired (is that a phenomenon? (haha, triple nested parenthesis, I win!)) of the parks from being there too much/interacting with horrible people).
I know what you mean. I honestly would like to work at one of the resorts or something, but I wouldn't want to work in the parks, unless it was my least favorite park. Then it would still be really special to go to the parks on days off, because it wouldn't be like going to work.
4) We were at DTD the day after you! And you got a purple mug?? I'm so jealous, they didn't have that option at Port Orleans. Truth be told, I kind of find Stacey a little annoying too because it's on continuous loop. There's nothing else you can put on that channel? Someone else to talk?? Anything? (Unless she isn't, in which case our TV was broken so sorry Stacey!)
I know! I have to wonder if we were ever anywhere at the same time. That would be so cool. Yeah, for whatever reason, All Star Sports was the resort they used to test out that new drink system. The mugs have these chips in them that keep track of when you're using them. It was actually pretty cool! I love my purple one, it's so cute.
I love your fancy Mickey towel animal, so much classier than the normal one!
Hahaha, yes, he was so fancy. You're right, it does look like he's wearing a little bow tie! Aww.
