You CAN order embroidered golden ears

Like many of you, when I recently went to WDW, there were no golden ears to be found. Now they're back in stock and you can get them via mail order, as many of you know. Now, I know they say that you can't get them embroidered. However, one CM told us to call the Christmas Shop in DTD to see if they'd do it, although she doubted it. Success! I got my embroidered ears in the mail today. Now, they do charge for embroidery ($7 I believe) and charged some shipping. But if you really want them embroidered, that's the way to go about it.

All you have to do is call Mail Order and tell them you want the number for Disney's Days of Christmas shop in DTD because you want to order a personalized item (I've either misplaced the number or thrown it away; sorry everyone). You'll more than likely get an answering machine, but they'll call you back; if not, keep calling and they may answer (they did for us after a few tries). When they call back or answer, tell them what you want, and they'll go over fonts and thread colors with you. Hope this helps y'all who wanted them embroidered! I was skeptical if it would really be done since Mail Order insisted it wouldn't likely happen, so I waited until I got them in the mail today to post. Very nicely done, and worth the price since I really wanted mine embroidered and by Disney.

how long ago did you go? my parents just got back yesterday and they had a pair already embroidered for me that they bought there. i'm hoping they'll stay in stock for this week too because we're leaving saturday(not today next saturday) and my boyfriend wants a pair(figures he wants them after i already asked him before they left)

They were in stock on 7/2 at Epcot and 7/3 at MK. They were not in stock prior to that - DH was looking everywhere for them.
I think they sold like hotcakes in May and early June and were unavailable the latter part of the month.

We are going Dec. 1-8th and staying at the GF and would love to have our names on a pair of the golden ears and waiting in the room when we get there, any ideas on how to get this done. We booked thru dreams unlimited, would they be able to get this done or should I call the resort myself?

If they are available at 12 days of Christmas in DTD, you can call them and they will send them to the gift shop at GF (you just pay for cost of item plus tax, NO delivery fee. They will give you a tracking # and you tell this to the gift shop at GF and they will have them put away in the back room for you. I did this with some GOH badges 12/04 and the gift shop at ASMo even called me about an hour after check-in to remind me to pick them up.

I'm heading up to the world in the Morning--Need to see Lucky before he goes so I'll check on the ears and report back tomorrow. I want to get mine, still don't have them, actually, I don't have regular ears either.

Almost forgot--If anyone has a problem getting the ear's let me know and I can take a run up there Construction on the freeway is done between my house and almost Disney so it's not a problem.

I ordered mine on 7/22 and they had just got back in stock. Unfortunately I was told that they couldnt be monogramed until we went to the park where it could be done free.

how long ago did you go?

We were there in mid-June, and there was none to be found anywhere. Well, there were a handful in one MGM shop, but I passed them up, planning to get them in MK and get them embroidered for free. Whoops.

Some of the mail-order CMs seem to be rather confused about the ears. When I knew they were in stock thanks to the DIS here, I called and the lady CM who answered said they weren't. Her exact words were "They're in the parks, yes, but we can't sell them via mail-order. All of ours were shipped to the parks, and once that happens you can't mail order them." Huh? Anyway, we called back and another CM said they could be ordered. Then we asked for the number for Days of Christmas, but the CM said they probably wouldn't do it.

We had first called mail order several weeks before to see if any had come in; they hadn't, but that's when one lone CM said they could be embroidered, if you called DDoC directly. Sure enough, the Christmas shop did it and was great about it. Apparently they do a lot of mail-order items.
