You Best Start Believing in Ghost Stories...Halloween on the Dream | The End P40 8/15

Really??? You're telling Bambi how to deal with Barry??? You think she didn't figure that out a few years ago??? :confused3 :sad2:
She has her ways. Most of them are even legal in a majority of the states.

She deserves instant Sainthood for actually choosing to be around him on a day in day out bases.
:littleangel:
Would you guys keep it down? If she keeps reading this stuff, she's going to wise up and find someone better. Then I'll be crashing on *your* couches. You don't want that, do you?

I see no reason to humor. The best way is to ignore him. By humoring him he continues to believe that there may be a chance he may one day have authority. Although, I see why he likes the disdads if you allow him this delusion.
Perceived delusional authority is the best kind!:thumbsup2

We’re dads…

By definition, we’re all delusional.
Yup.

Oh thank God we're back to talking about the trip and off of my delusional ... whatever I seem to have. Thank you Amanda!

Maybe we'll get passport stamps when we go on our cruise. In 16 days. Not that I'm counting. :thumbsup2
Love the AquaDuck pictures. My kids are dying to go on that! Luckily all 3 are tall enough.

Amanda
I'm sure you're going to have a great time!

Would you guys keep it down? If she keeps reading this stuff, she's going to wise up and find someone better. Then I'll be crashing on *your* couches. You don't want that, do you?

Babmi, Barry is a fine and upstanding individual. One of the best catches around.

Besides, my couch is too close to take any chances

Here’s a quote I found on the DCL forum about getting a passport stamped in Nassau…

Also (and I did not know this), you can get you passport stamped at Castaway Cay. Here’s another quote discussing that process…

Now I wish I'd known that. Even better, I could have gotten a Bahamas passport stamp at Castaway Cay and still not bothered to have gotten off the ship at Nassau. Maybe next time.

Authority over what? Did I miss something here? :confused3

It's getting close to 4:30. Shouldn't you be getting ready for bed?

Nah, that's dinner time.

Well, i was going to take you to task for having the nerve to post relevant, useful information in my TR, but since you threw Mark under the bus, I'll let it slide.

Would you guys keep it down? If she keeps reading this stuff, she's going to wise up and find someone better. Then I'll be crashing on *your* couches. You don't want that, do you?

After throwing me under the bus? You'll be lucky if you get to bunk with Scotty.

If you're looking for a couch to crash on, you'd better bring more than a 6 pack.
It's Canadian beer. With the exchange rate, that's got be like a case or something. :confused3

After throwing me under the bus? You'll be lucky if you get to bunk with Scotty.
Hmmmm....with his ideas and my abundant disregard for the rules...this could be promising. :scratchin

Wait a minute. Which one sleeps on his head? That's who I'd want to bunk with. That way I'd end up with a bed to myself. :thumbsup2:rotfl2:

That would be Dave. He also likes to sit in his room and bounce a ball against the wall, like the guy in The Great Escape.

That would be Dave. He also likes to sit in his room and bounce a ball against the wall, like the guy in The Great Escape.

That guy in The Great Escape was none other that Steve McQueen. I think it would be cool to be Steve McQueen's roommate. Along those lines, have you put Dave on a motorcycle yet? :confused3

Glad to see my agent is standing up for me. Remember Andy you get 10% of whatever is negotiated.
Yes, but 10% of Canadian beer is still swill.

That guy in The Great Escape was none other that Steve McQueen. I think it would be cool to be Steve McQueen's roommate. Along those lines, have you put Dave on a motorcycle yet? :confused3

I thought Mater was Steve McQueen's roommate?

Safely back on the ship after our mini-tour of Nassau, we checked our Navigator to see that there was going to be a character meet & greet in the atrium. Being characters themselves, Madison and Evan decided to get into the Halloween spirit. Orrrrr....they were replaced by undead versions of themselves by some Bahamian witch doctor when we weren't looking back on the island.

And what would Halloween be without some costumes!

After making our way though the character line (they ran it like the Character Spot in Epcot - you get in one line and see each character in turn), we decided to head up to Goofy's Sports Deck to see if we could catch his son Max playing a round of golf.

But I must warn you. The next picture is quite graphic. It seems that the local bird population in Nassau can get downright nasty when they're looking for food. And it appears that they have acquired a taste for blood. We thought we would be safe sticking to the interior hallways of the ship, but one flying death monster seems to have wiggled his way through some loose shutters. Bambi fought it valiantly, desperately trying to keep herself between the vicious, blood thirsty fowl and the kids. In the end, she saved the kids, but was left with a nasty ouchie on her finger.

IMG_9716.JPG

Ah, Goofy's Sports Deck on Deck 13. Or for you superstitious folk "the deck between 12 and 14" . Filled with all sorts of fun athletic games such as basketball, vollyeball, Foosball, ping pong, and of course....mini golf!

IMG_9720.JPG

Max was up there putt-putting a round with a lucky family, so we waited patiently until he had finished then got in a quick photo.

IMG_9725.JPG

As long as we were up there, we grabbed a set of clubs and balls and tried our luck at keeping the ball on the ship and out Nassau harbor.

IMG_9727.JPG

Based on Madison's backswing, I don't think we were successful.

IMG_9732.JPG

You get quite a view from up on deck 13. For one thing, you can see when some of the crew members decided to hijack one of the lifeboats and go on a pleasure cruise.

IMG_9649.JPG

You can also see a lot of the local wildlife. Like this momma duck bringing her ducklings back to the nest after a day out on the water. Or something.

IMG_9726.JPG

We cut our round of minigolf short because it was starting to rain. Which was OK, since we had to get back to our room to get changed. Yes, Disney sent us an email before the cruise saying that the characters will be in costume, so you should too! On the way down, we passed Animator's Palate, all decked out for the occasion.

IMG_9733.JPG

The problem with the rain is that it was going to put a damper on the Halloween Deck Party scheduled for Deck 11 that afternoon. (Damper! Ha!) But no worry, this is Disney after all. Just because they can't control the weather (yet), doesn't mean they don't have a backup plan. Cruise Director Rachel made an announcement that the party was going to be moved inside to the Atrium.

We arrived to see the area already filling up, but were able to get the kids a sort-of-kind-of front row view. It would have been a full front row view if the *$@%! 6 foot tall woman with the poofy hair and batgirl costume would step back 9 inches and let a few of the 3 foot tall kids have a better view. This was as close as I came to throwing someone overboard. With my luck she would actually have spider powers and could climb right back up.

Anyway, the folks that designed this boat really had their thinking caps on. It seems that Peter Parker is not the only one with a secret identity. Mild mannered atrium ceiling by day, but hiding a wild side. With the flip of a switch...hidden dance party lighting! Colored lights, black lights, spot lights - it's party time!

IMG_9736.JPG

A DJ was spinning the tunes (Did I say that right? Is that what the kids are doing these days? "Spinning tunes?), and characters would be announced, come down the grand staircase and shake their booties to some pumped up Halloween songs.

The party kept going while roving photographers were taking family pictures. We went with two themes this year - A butterfly and bumblebee for the ladies, while Evankin Skywalker and Obi-Wan KaBarry protected the ship from the Empire.

Not yet. I'll check with DW and see what she thinks.

I thought Mater was Steve McQueen's roommate?

So Barry is Mater in this scenario? Yeah, sounds about right.

Thank God... an update to finally get this trainwreck back on the tracks.

Orrrrr....they were replaced by undead versions of themselves by some Bahamian witch doctor when we weren't looking back on the island.

If you love your kids, you will remove this zombie apocalypse picture of them before Fed makes them disappear.:rolleyes1

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl: I don't know what you're trying to do, Barry, but you look like the world's worst ninja!

Ah, Goofy's Sports Deck on Deck 13. Or for you superstitious folk "the deck between 12 and 14" .
How was the elevator ride to that deck? Do you think Mark could handle it?

As long as we were up there, we grabbed a set of clubs and balls and tried our luck at keeping the ball on the ship and out Nassau harbor.
What's the fun of doing that?:confused3

FORE!!!

Based on Madison's backswing, I don't think we were successful.
:thumbsup2 She knows how it's supposed to be done.

It would have been a full front row view if the *$@%! 6 foot tall woman with the poofy hair and batgirl costume would step back 9 inches and let a few of the 3 foot tall kids have a better view.
Why didn't you use the force?

Help me Obi-One KaBarry - you're my only hope!

Nope...just doesn't have the same ring to it!

Beware of those Caribbean witch doctors they'll do a number on you.

Oops. Too late.

Karate Kid? :confused3

Cool. Better make sure that Mark doesn't go here, imaging taking the elevator down from the 13th floor.... I think I've heard of that from somewhere... :rotfl2:

Don't take pictures in the midst of a back swing it could cause unfortunate consequences like getting hit in the goofballs.

See, I told you.

I wonder if Tim has a setup like this?

Obi-Wan KaBarry? I was thinking more like Qui-Gon Barry or maybe Jar Jar Barry?

Great update Barry. I'm beginning to think Halloween on the High Seas might be a fun excursion.

Great update! I love the character photos that you guys got, those costumes on the characters are great!

We took our Madison mini golfing last week-it was scary.

The party looks like fun! Why don't people let little kids stand in front of them? It's so rude.

Your costumes are awesome! Looks like a great Halloween at sea!
