YoHo, YoHo, A Mother's Day Trip to the Mouse!

OK, maybe I missed it, but I don't think I know your name! I know everyone's names that we are meeting at AK, but yours, so what is your name? :cutie:

OK, maybe I missed it, but I don't think I know your name! I know everyone's names that we are meeting at AK, but yours, so what is your name? :cutie:

That makes two of us! I am horrible with names...so I might call everyone by their Dis name. I can say hello I am Amber and I can't remember names since I turned 30. They tell me its all down hill from here!

I don't know if I ever even posted my name :confused3 My name is Pam, and my dh is Manny!

Yeah, Lizzie did well at the appt. but for some reason when we went to do it last night she was alittle freaked out. Maybe because she was getting a "shot" at home and not at the DRs office. But we talked about it, and she's Ok.

Ok, so trip is all paid for!!!!!!!!!! That makes me feel like we're all ready to go!!.....and now....I want to go!!! I cannot wait to get all of our stuff in the mail, like the magical express tags:banana: When does that get mailed out?

Sam and I just came back from the market, and they were putting up their Easter decorations, so we had to come right home and take all of our stuff out. She's now playing with the baskets and plastic eggs. I also found a brand new, never opened egg coloring kit. I was excited, I must have bought extra last year and not needed it.
Easter is just a few weeks away, we're usually very excited about Easter around here, but Disney is in the way of that right now. So I actually just said to Manny, we gotta start shopping for Easter "stuff", I'm focusing so much on the trip that I really don't want to focus on much else. I'm surprised I'm functioning at work.
Ok, i'll start a new post for it, but I figured out our Day 3 Plans!!!!!!

This is our Hollywood Studios Day!!!! Yay, I am really looking forward to this day.

So day 2 will be AK, and that park closes at 8pm, so we should be able to get to bed at a halfway decent time and be up early for HS.
I am planning to make rope drop for this day!!!
Head straight to Toy Story Mania, and either wait in line or grab a fastpass.

I didn't want to plan what attractions we did in order, we'll just make sure we get our favorites done, but if there are long waits for some, we can always come back at another time. But here are our must dos!

Toy Story Mania of course
Voyage of the Little Mermaid
Playhouse Disney
Muppet Vision 3D
Lights, Motor, Action stunt show~ This is Anthonys MUST DO~!!
Beauty and the Beast
Honey I shrunk the kids playset
Disney Animation thing (most likely)

Sam is too short for Star Tours, so maybe Manny will take Emily and Anthony on that if they want to ride that.
I know, I know RocknRollercoaster and ToT are not on our list. And like i've said before, if we get there and Anthony really wants to go on one of these (which I doubt) I will take him on:scared1:

I was undecided about Indiana Jones, what do you think, should we put it on our list?

The parade(which I cannot wait for) starts at 3pm
Fantasmic is at 9pm
Do you recommend an hour early for Fantasmic, is that enough time?

We may take a quick mid day break if it's really hot for a swim, we'll see how the day goes. If it's not that hot, we're probably better off just making it a full day, It seems like more work to go back and forth. And we would not be able to take that long of a break, The parade is at 3, and we'll have to be in Fantasmic by 8. We'll see! I don't want to be too strict with the plans and then be upset when we are not following them. We have 7 park days, we'll have plenty of time to get alot of stuff done.
And our last day there is the 3rd day for Mk, If we feel like we missed more in other parks, and saw enough in the Mk, we can change that plan too. I'm trying to be flexible. Manny is not a follow a list person, he is a do what we want to do at that time person. So I am compromising, I think this will work best.

Lunch will be at Pizza Planet
Dinner will be at the Backlot Express

Oh and we are going to get in all of the Character Meets.

And that is our Hollywood Studios Day. Oh and I think I'm making myself a shirt with Buzz Lightyear on it for this day. I love him. It will be a gray tank top, just like the kids for this day.
And did I tell you before that Sam calls dh Handy Manny. My Manny does construction on the side, and when Handy Manny first came out, dh was doing construction daily(with his tools) so Sam called him Handy Manny for the longest time, so I think he is getting a Handy Manny shirt and I told him that he HAS to get his picture taken with him. He's a good sport, he'll do it, the kids will get a kick out of it.

Only 5 more days to plan out:goodvibes

Hi Pam!!

Awww, poor Lizzie! I hope she gets used to the shots and has no side effects. :cutie:

I'm excited to get our DME stuff in the mail too! I think they should be arriving in the next week or so!

Your Day 3 plans look great! I'm sure you'll have more than enough time to see the things on your list. If you have time and need a break, the Indiana Jones show is decent, but it's definitely not good enough to miss something that is on your list. I wish DHS had an Indiana Jones ride like Disney Land has. It's soooo much cooler!

You guys HAVE to go on ToT!! That is the best ride in the park! The dropping part isn't even the scary part, it the whole anticipation and lead up that gets me freaked out!:scared1: That's the Disney magic for ya!!

Ok, so trip is all paid for!!!!!!!!!! That makes me feel like we're all ready to go!!.....and now....I want to go!!! I cannot wait to get all of our stuff in the mail, like the magical express tags:banana: When does that get mailed out?

I got my ME stuff at about 35 days out and the package vouchers and souvenir luggage tags a day or two later! YAY for Mickey Mail!! :yay::yay: Time to start stalking the mailman!

Ditto! It's so hard to focus on anything but the trip! I totally hear ya!

This is our Hollywood Studios Day!!!! Yay, I am really looking forward to this day.

The plans look good...this is a tough one to figure because of all the shows. But you have the best idea...hit the must-dos and go from there! Should be a great day!

Do you recommend an hour early for Fantasmic, is that enough time?

That seems to be the overriding opinion on here...head to the theater about an hour before show time. That's our plan as well.

Thanks for the advice, we'll get to Fantasmic an hour early, we'll bring snacks, and if we're in the park all day, the kids will probably be glad to sit down anyway.

Oh, that's awesome, you got your stuff around 35 days out, we're at 46 days out. So by next week, I'll be stalking the mail lady daily!!!!!!! That's gonna be fun. Our Mail lady is the nicest person, she always stops and talks to the kids if we're outside, she has a son Anthony's age. So I'll tell her we're waiting for Disney Mail, so she doesn't wonder why I meet her at the door every day.

Just so you know, when you are waiting for Fantasmic, you are in line outside the theater so there is no place to sit....except the ground!! You should also expect the line to be LONG even an hour before the show!:rotfl:

I agree with Wendy, the line for Fantasmic can be brutal when they are doing it every night let alone when they are doing it 2-3 times a week :headache:

I also think that you need to try ToT just once. It's worth the ride just to see your pic at the end. I have a funny one of DH on his first ride. :lmao:

Oh I didn't know you had to stand in line until it started. How brutal is the line and how GOOD is the show, should I skip it? Or is it worth the wait, especially seeing how is only a few times a week. :eek:Help

I have mixed emotions about Fantasmic this year for our family. We really like this show but it was showing every night. With limited shows I fear that EVERYONE will be at DS to see it. We will probably skip it if the park levels are what UG is predicting as of yesterday. For your family it is probably a must do because you haven't seen it. It is a good show. It's a shame that they aren't showing it every night.:headache: I have seen reports on allears where they are adding more shows so maybe your week will be affected and the line will let up some because people have more options.

I would agree with leamom....if you haven't seen it, I would try to make it. It's really an impressive show. :thumbsup2

They just raised all the crowd level predictions for our days...were 5/6 now they are all 7s with one 9...YIKES! The only one I'm really concerned about is our Studios day because we are going on a Fantasmic day. Maybe we'll both get lucky and they'll add more shows.

I have to chime in too. We loved it the time we saw it and it was COLD. We didn't have to wait too long but we are talking when it was showing every night and this was several years ago.

Well we are not doing Fantasmic. Jenny didn't like it at Disneyland...so no dealing with the crowds to try again. She just wants to see the fireworks over the castle. I am not doing Tot. I hate heights, but love roller coasters. I want Jason to try it, though. We shall see!

Hey can anyone find the search tab above? I was trying to look up the AKL photos and can't get to the thread!!!:scared1:

Awww, bummer! I don't know what to do now. But thanks for all of the responses, I had no idea... I of course want to see the show, but if it's going to be extreme aggravation and horrendous crowds trying to get out after the show I don't know if it's worth it. The way I see it is, this is our first time going to disney world, everything we see there is going to be amazing and incredible. The kids will never know they're missing this show, they will not be disappointed. I will though, because I'll know what i'm missing.....I have to think about this.

And, if I decide to skip it, do you think it would be a good idea if I switch days around and go to HS any other day when Fantasmic is not showing?

Anyway, Sam had a bowling Birthday party today for her little friend. She did a good job bowling, I have a few pics to post tomorrow. Lizzie has a bowling party next weekend for one of her friends too! Tomorrow we're having a cake and making dinner for my brother's birthday.

So this is our day that we are taking off from the parks. I figured by day 4 this would be a very welcomed "day off"
We won't set an alarm....Ok maybe we will, but it won't go off at 7am.
We'll of course hang out by the pool for a while

Around maybe 5 or 6 we'll head over to Downtown Disney!!! Can't wait!!! We're either going to eat at Earl of Sandwich or Wolfgang puck express. We'll see what we're in the mood for at the time. We'll of course do some shopping, and I HAVE to take the kids to Goofy's Candy Company. We can use snack credits from the DP here right?
I want to rent one of the boats here, I think that will be something different and very enjoyable, not something we get to do everyday. My kids will think this is "special". Little things like this are really appreciated by my kids:goodvibes I have to look into it more, check on what kind of boats they have and what the prices are. If anyone has any info on this , i'd be glad to take it.

Alright this is what I need advice on....What should we do during the day? Like I said, i'm sure we'll go to the pool for a while, but we're not going over to DTD until 5 or 6. Now I do want this to be an "easy" day, but I don't want to be looking for something to do if we have too much free time.
Any suggestions... (I have mini golf planned for a different night)

Well it's 12:50am, so we're officially at 44 Days Until Disney World... WOW, we're just sailing through the 40s. I think the month of April is going to go by so fast for us with School vacation and Easter, we'll be in the single digits before we know it.:yay::woohoo::yay::woohoo:

I think you should plan on seeing the show, but if you go to get in line an hour early and the line is halfway down Sunset Blvd., maybe see it next time....there will be a next time, right?!! Hopefully, they will be adding shows, but I guess that hasn't been happening until the day of so that doesn't help us DIS planners!!:headache::rotfl::headache: As for being DISappointed if you don't see the show, you could always watch it on youtube!! ;)

You and Manny will probably be happy to take a day off, but I bet the kids will want to do more park stuff!!

Are you getting the photopass? This extra time might be perfect for scheduling a family photo session at one of the deluxe resorts. I think the cost is now $75 though. Also, if you want to do the boats, I think all of the boat rental places close around 5pm. I'm not positive, but you might want to look into it. Another suggestion, your kids would probably like Disney Quest at DTD West side. It required you buy a ticket unless you have the water parks & more tickets already. You could also check out one of the water parks. We really like Typhoon Lagoon, but then again, you need to buy the ticket. More $$$!

Oh, I just thought of something that is free! There is a petting zoo and horse stables (Tri-Circle-D Ranch) at the Fort Wilderness resort. They also have horse drawn carriage rides, bike rentals, canoe rentals etc...

You could also check out some of the deluxe resorts just to check them out and see what you might be interested in for your next trip. :goodvibes It might be fun to get pics at Cindy's carriage or maybe some fun in the sand at the Poly. The Poly is beautiful. I've never checked out the Grand FL but we are eating there our first night this trip and one of the things we will do is pics in the carriage. These resorts are on the monorail so you could take the bus to MK and just take the resort monorail to check them out. I think you can take a boat from MK to WL. All free! I love free stuff

Thanks, I was thinking about a photo session, we'll see. And I will look into the boat rentals at DTD , if they close at 5pm, then we'll just head over there earlier, and then we won't really have to worry about too much down time.

I forgot about the beach at the Poly, we could go check that out, and have lunch somewhere around there. That actually sounds like a good idea.

I'm deathly allergic to horses, so horse drawn carriage rides, as nice as that sounds, will never be an option for me;) Petting Zoos scare me too....My asthma and allergies are just so bad. I figure the kids will at least get to do the one at AK. I'll stand back and let Manny take them over. Well there are some animals that don't bother me, like, I don't know, sheep. I'm Ok with sheep.:confused3

Ok, i'm going to go see if I can get more info on the boat rentals to see what time they close. I'll call tomorrow if I can't find anything on the time. Thanks

So today we went to my grandmother's house to bring her flowers for her bday which is tomorrow. We ordered pizza and subs.
Then we came home and my brother, his girlfriend, my dad and my mom came over for cake and dinner for my brother's bday, which was yesterday. We had a busy day ,and i'm so tired right now.
