Thanks for all the well wishes guys.....ya gave G a big smile!!! Shes going to try to make it through the day without the meds, she says they make her sick....she's confusing sick with loaded. She's one pain enduring chick!!!
Shes said its pathetic that I wrote ya'll about me having to do house work while shes cripple.....ya'd think she'd be used to that by now!!!!

Tell her if she gets bored while she is down we would love to hear from her. We sure know how to kill time around here. And we'll even pick on BDR if it makes her feel better.:rotfl2:

I've got to say, my MIL is one incedible woman. I just got back from NC last night. We just learned that Scott's grandmother has cancer, so we went to visit and help out. My MIL is taking care of her husband who has been battling cancer himself, plus she lives next door to her aging parents. Now her own mother has cancer as well. She is taking care of 3 ill people, plus 2 houses and all the property that goes with it. She is constantly carting them to the hospital and Dr appointments, making sure their chores are done and they have food to eat.

This woman, in her lifetime, has already lost one husband, an infant son and is now about to be widowed a 2nd time. The piddly yard work and house cleaning we did for her hardly amounts to anything with the burdens she is carrying. Where that woman gets her strength from is beyond me.

I had to write and give her the credit she deserves and ask that some of you might think of her in a prayer or two. She has a long hard road ahead of her. When this is all over, I'm going to insist on a trip to the Fort! She loves camping and has had to give it up lately.

Donnie....

Yer walkin' on some mighty thin ice here pardner!! First the otters, and then Rog!

The self-appointed moderator of the sub-forum might just issue some points your way. After all, Rog is the Pledgemaster while Pete's away, and Jim is the appointed monitor in charge by the self-appointed monitor of the sub-forum.

Any way you look at it Donnie boy...you're toast!!!

I've been in worse trouble at the fort. As far as them otters go I say we have an otter slaughter.:thumbsup2

As far as Rog goes, if Pete's not here to harass him then nobody else will so that's my Monday jab. He can handle it, trust me.

I hate to hear that Ami. I'm sure whatever chores you relieved her of was very noticed. We'll keep you in our prayers.

On another note my aunt who had the heatstroke a couple weeks ago still hasn't found out what is going on. She had an EEG that came back questionable and now they did a MRI on Thursday and her Dr. has yet to call and let her know or have her come in. She has just not been the same since the heat, stroke, seizure or whatever it is that she's had. She's not had anymore but she's having very bad vision problems. Hopefully we'll know more soon. She's only 47 and more like my sis. I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that whatever it is can be treated and she'll be fine.

Ami, your MIL sounds like an incredible woman. Other peoples strength amazes me sometimes. It makes me wonder why i complain so much about little things.

Donnie, sorry your aunts not doing any better. Have they checked her for MS? My sister has MS and the blurred vision, loss of strength especially in the heat sounds familiar. Does she have any knumbness in her hands and legs. MS is often misdiagnoised as a stroke.

Donnie,
Many years ago my dad had small strokes that messed up his vision. He had control of one eye at a time, but not both at the same time. He was forced to wear an eye patch and switch the patch to the other eye every few hours. For him there was no real treatment and something that eventually got better with time. He had several of these over the years. I hope your aunt's situation is different and they are able to treat her and not just the symptoms.

Ami, your MIL sounds like an incredible women. Many positive thoughts are being sent her way!:goodvibes

Donnie-

I am sorry that your Aunt isn't improving and that they haven't yet nailed down what the problem is. I had two "incidents" exactly one year apart that could have been strokes. I was 45 the first time & 46 the second time. The CAT Scans & MRI's appeared to have been small brain bleeds - but also could have been MS lesions. So...I had the MS testing which included 13 vials of blood being drawn, a cardiac stress test, and a spinal tap. They all sound worse than they actually were. The neurologist I had at that time never came to any conclusions - but did rule out the MS - and said I probably had T.I.A.'s (mini-strokes). Thankfully, I have no residual effects except that when I get really tired, my speech starts to slur like I've been to a MDGG! You'll see what that's like at the FoJGG!! :rotfl2:

I hope the Dr is keeping a close watch on your Aunt. And for heavens sake - - - make sure she's taking charge of her own medical care. I've learned after being on this planet for over a half-century that, MD's don't know everything!! A good Dr, when stymied, will refer you to a specialist.

Now, that being said ---- you're still TOAST!! Otters are my friends! They bring beer to my site that they've stolen from other unsuspecting FtW campers. If you're not nice to them, they WILL steal beer from you and bring it to ME!!!

As far as Rog goes,,, I will defend him with my dying breath!! HE invited me to theme park stalk his family (which really wouldn't be stalking if you're invited). HE provides endless hours of entertainment on the dis-board. HE brought outstanding jambalaya to the MDGG. HE brought and shared Rumplemintz with all of us at the MDGG. HE converted Gina and Co. into tent campers at FtW. And most of all...HE sought out me & Al at FtW when he was there in December.

YOU just threaten to hurt the innocent, sweet, beer stealing, and loving otters. You otter hater, YOU!!! Blech!! YOU sneak over to FtW for lunch and pose as a free-loader when everyone knows I'M the professional free-loader!! YOU call BigDaddyDisney and MsGus names. Oh,,, the inhumanity of it all!!

(Really - I can't wait to meet you at the FoJGG, Donnie! We'll hug, share a beer & relentlessly tease each other all evening!;) )

Hello all, I promised I'd stop by from time to time, in the future I plan to stop by much more frequently. How is everyone enjoying their Summer? It sure seems to be rocketing by. I like the community board set up.

Well anyway, for those of you that visited my website, Thanks! I'll be here enjoying this sub board.

WOW, Ami! That's an awful lot for one person to bear.

I cared for my mom the last 4 years of her life, and her last 6 months-she was dying from cancer. It's a life-sucking disease which emotionally and physically drains everyone involved. I'm sure what your family did for your MIL was gratefully received. Just seeing all of you was probably the greatest dose of happiness she could have received. When you are in a stressful situation, the smallest kindness shown to you is always a precious gift.

Would there be any way to sneak her & her DH to the Fort, even for just a weekend before DH's time is up? Or perhaps a B&B that would be close enough for them to get to? That would probably be the greatest gift! We took my mom to FtW for a weekend for what turned out to be her last birthday, just 10 months before she died. It was worth every penny - even though we couldn't afford it at the time. (Thank goodness for Visa!)

I'll keep all of you in my prayers. Sometimes, that's the best support you can give! :lovestruc

Thanks to you all for the thoughts. It's hard sitting here waiting for a phone call to know what is next. The bad thing is she needs to take it easy until they let her know what's up and she has been working just as hard as always. Hard head!!!:(

Everyone seems to be having problems. That's certainly no good! Not good at all.

Rog, that's terrible! That's a bad injury. I hope Gina's feeling better soon. In NY, worker's comp is a real hassle. You may have to talk to a lawyer just to protect yourself.

Donnie & Ami and anyone else I may have missed - I don't even know what to say! I hope things get better for you and yours.

Carol, good luck

Jim, how's the wrist? Better I hope.

John, I hope the pain gets more manageable.

Nichol, how's Jim? I hope things are getting better. Post if you get a chance.

Boy, I'm off the boards for a couple of days and ..........

And before I forget it,

Pete, is that nasty rash any better? :lmao:

Pete, is that nasty rash any better? :lmao:

Okay.... that confirms it!!! I accused you, John, Jim & Pete for partying in PA over the weekend without the rest of us....and you come back asking about Pete's RASH???:confused3 You were at Lois' house, MY FOOT!

I see little has changed since I left! Al is still not behaving and Deb is defending people left and right. I pm'ed Rog without reading, so I hope things are going better over in LA. As for me (not that I was missed) I am finally caught up on one thread (this one) and will have to go and take a break. I am reading all of this with sunglasses on. Went to the neurologist today and got some meds for this migraine that just won't leave. I have an MRI tomorrow to make sure that is all it is. John, glad to hear your son is doing better and everyone is doing relatively ok, considering. Why is it that when we have a recession, everything else goes to hell as well? I just don't get it. We leave Friday for 12 days at the fort and I have been able to do not a single thing to get ready yet. The meds the dr gave me are dulling things enough for me to function, so I plan on getting the rv packed tomorrow. Thanks for those who gave me a text to find out if I was dead. I didn't get that job (some person with all this experience thinks she can just jump in front, loser!) so I am going to plan B. I will let you in on plan B when my brain functions a little better. Until then...

Glad to see ya, Jen. Ami posted IIRC on Fri that you were suffering from a migraine and I just figured that you probably didn't even have your computer on all weekend due to the pain. Let's hope the Dr's can find out what's causing them & get the situation corrected. For me, after having braces on my teeth for 4 years (age 32 when I got them), the migraines disappeared. Apparantly, I had a slight case of TMJ which would cause the migranes. Thankfully a simple fix! Let's hope yours is an easy fix, too!

I'm sorry about the job. Let's hope something better comes along!! I'll keep you in my prayers. You just concentrate on getting yourself to FtW!! Can't wait to see you again!

have her family call her physician...those things can be more serious than she realizes!!! with the HIPPA Laws they can't tell them anything but they can have the doc call her and speak with her!!!

Jen, you were definately missed! Glad your feeling some better.

Jen sorry you are still feeling so bad but glad you are getting help!! I've known a lot of people who suffer from those and know they are awful!!!Hope you are back to normal soon!!! Janet

Absolutely impossible to get caught up. I am using laptop on batteries that are fading fast, at a WIFI hotspot at Crockett's Tavern at the Fort (no, I am NOT trying to rub it in). I just wanted to post that I miss you guys. Honest to God.

I also got some good news on the job front while I have been here. I was contacted the other day by a recruiter from Microsoft, and I have an initial phone interview scheduled for Monday the 30th after we return from vacation. Wish me luck folks.. for me, working for Microsoft is my dream job.

Gotta log. Vista just told me I have 6 minutes of battery life left. Ya'll take care...

sending :goodvibes' Microsoft wow sounds like a great opportunity..
