Hi everyone :)

Today is my 17th wedding anniversary  I can NOT believe it's been that long !! I'm only 35 and I've been with my hubby now for 20 years total. I first met him in choir class wayyyyy back in 9th grade. A fact which REALLY freaks me out now that we have a daughter going into 9th grade this fall :scared1:

Why not tell them the little pop up honeymoon story from RV.Net lol. At least you weren't the one whose bed legs went thru the floor lmao.

Hi again from Orlando!

Happy Anniversary Shannone1! I was a June bride too, our anniversary is next Saturday.
I've been with DH for 29 years total

Just to keep everyone up to date, Matt is doing ok, the doctor told us that days 3 4 5 would be the worst for him, so we are right in that stretch. He hasn't got up yet, but yesterday, he wouldn't even talk it hurt too much. He ate his first non popsicle/jello yesterday, two bites of mac and cheese. :thumbsup2

I have been pretty busy keeping him entertained and cleaning out my shop, so haven't been here much, but don't worry, its not another "John Meltdown" LOL. No need for bottle rockets.

Talk to yins as soon as I can.

I hope he's doing better as for you. I built a shelf for the candles and the bottle rocket, so I don't have to look for them all day again.:lmao: :lmao:

John,,,them little ones snap back pretty quick dont they. Thank god!!

Last night Gina fell at work and shattered her right kneecap. Its all swollen to high hell...wont be able to walk for at least 6 weeks they said, wont be able to work for god knows how long!!! Shes in major pain, but refused pain meds till I got to the hospital to get her because she was afraid they would knock her out and she's terrified of might happen to her while shes out...and I thought "I" was paranoid!!! My poor girl....she's in my recliner passed out right now.

If anyone knows anything about laws pertaining to workplace injuries...please PM me.....I have some questions.

Call the state dept of labor. They will know who to talk too. workmans comp should take care of medical bill and lost wages

I'm so sorry to hear this.:worried: Sounds extremely painful. My sister broke her knee cap last year in a fall on her front steps. Lots of x-rays..and wait and see...she was in two different types of braces for a while. Seems to be okay now, but frankly it took a while, and surgery was also an option if things didn't heal. Personally, I think that's something she will face eventually. Hope Gina heals quickly. I will keep her in my thoughts and prayers.

Oooooh, I'm so sorry to hear about Gina's knee.

Totally off topic, are we all falling apart or what?? It seems like everybody around here is having some type of medical "something" going on. I guess since everybody else is telling. I'm having a hystorectomy next month, and DH has to go back in August to have scar revision done on his nose where they took out some skin cancer in March.

If it ain't one thing it's a thousand!!

Rog-

I am sooooo sorry to hear about Gina!! OUCH!!

I agree that workman's comp needs to be notified and MAKE SURE HER INJURY IS DOCUMENTED BY SOMEONE IN AUTHORITY at her place of work.

I can't tell you how many times as a union steward I insisted that fellow workers file accident reports - no matter how "slight" the injury appeared to be. Most of them came to nothing, but some did. If the accident reports hadn't been filed, some of my co-workers would have gone without some pay, and would had to have paid some medical expenses out of pocket. They also would have been harrassed by management for taking sick time or time off for Dr visits.

Bags of frozen peas or frozen corn make the best ice packs!! Maybe a shot or two of Rumplemintz is in order???

Tenderly, but lovingly, give Gina a hug from me!

I think it's because we're all "getting to that age"! (LOL)

I'm here to tell ya, Carol!! Prior to menopause, I would have jumped for joy if my Dr. told me I had to have a hysterectomy! I was never able to get pregnant, and Aunt Flo's monthly visits were quite a nuisance!! Why have the doggone crib if ain't no one gonna occupy it?? I couldn't get my OB-GYN to buy into that one!:confused3 :rotfl: I hope all goes well for you and for your DH.

I'm actually quite happy about it. Getting rid of that thing (and solving my bladder problem), probably keeping my ovaries, and 6 weeks off work :cool1:

Yay to the 6 weeks off! They have drugs and Depends for the other stuff!!:lmao:

BTW... I went to the Tab website just for grins!! I LIKE your "Clam"!! Did you see the new "TaDa" Tabs??? They look really cool!! Question.... is your Tab light enough that you could manually push it around if you needed to?? Probably not...but with the materials used to construct it, maybe so?? I didn't realize these were made by Thor Industries.

A bladder tack is part of my surgery

On level asphalt one person can push it around. Two people can push it on most any surface. It is less than 2000 lbs. If there is room, a lot of times I turn it sideways in a campsite.

I've looked at TADAs and we might eventually get one. I need to get DH down to the dealer to see if he can fit in the bathroom and if he can lay down on the bed. The way the aisle and the bed meet is pretty narrow. Plus, even though my truck could handle it, I would want a V8 to tow one.

Thanks Deb......she work's at Harrahs Casino, so everything was documented, everything is on video surveillence and Im confident that they wont give a problem about paying the hospital bills and compensating some of her missed work pay.
The thing is...she slipped in a puddle of condensation that has been slipped on by other employees before(though never this seriously), has been reported and complained about for years and they've never , untill NOW, even put a rubber mat over it or a caution sign. One of Gina's friends called to check on her and told her that NOW THEY FINALLY covered it with a rubber bar mat. Her freind asked a manager "Why did someone have to break a leg before ya'll got around to doing something about it???" Gina said before the paramedics even rolled her out their were several suited guys that she's never seen before asking her tons of questions, and that she was sure they were lawyers for the casino...this is at about 1am. Lawyers on staff and on premises at 1am.....casinos dont take chances. Anyway...we're going to speak to a lawyer since the problem has been reported so many previous times and no ones ever sen fit to rectify it.....she's suffering and in a ton of pain, and the ER doctors told her she can expect some serious surgeries in her near future, and that she'll be packing some hardware in her knee for a long time. Someone SHOULD have to pay for her pain and suffering, why should she just have to sit back and take it when she's done nothing to deserve it.
Man...Im gonna have to cook and do laundry and housework now!!! WHat about MY pain and suffering!!!! ;)

She does seem to be feeling better since the vicodin have kicked in:thumbsup2

OH man that sucks, tell Gina we'll be thinking of her. I don't know about there but my DB got hurt at work and he had to be on those w/comp people constantly [he works for the State of Tn.]. Keep track of every penny they send you and all paper work from everything and copies of emails. They tried to short him 3 weeks pay. As for your pain and suffering, I'm sure your DD's will pitch in in time of crisis.

she work's at Harrahs Casino

Is that the same "Harrahs" owned by Mohamed al Fayed??? Let's all make a seriously concerted effort to resurrect Johnnie Frikkin Cochran!!!

No crap, Rog...here's the website to his lawfirm!!!

http://www.cochranfirm.com/

Click on the little circle in the NOLA area. Yeah,,,, that one!! They have offices in your area!!

Go, Big Daddy, GO!!!

Ugh, that bites Rog. Sorry to hear that this has happened to Gina. I hope the casino PAYS for her pain and suffering! Best of luck....sending postive thoughts her (and your) way!

I agree, it sounds like it was a known dangerous spot and the casino should've done something about it a long time ago. I'm not one who is in favor of suing people for every little thing, but this sounds like something that I would for sure look into in your wife's case !! She is going to miss a lot of work and have lots of dr bills.:worried: Make sure you keep us posted about her and let her know we are thinking of her. :goodvibes

Wah, wah, wah. It will be GOOD for you.

That's good to hear. My DH has used that for knee problems in the past and it really helps him sleep through the pain.

Rog - Sorry to hear about your wife. That sounds incredibly painful! :scared:
And yes the laundry and dishes sound painful as well. :rotfl:

I'm not a big fan of suing but I think its necessary in this case. Unfortunately it sounds like a long period of pain going foward when the accident could have been prevented easily. Good luck with everything.
