We headed into Tomorrowland as Colton really wanted to get on Autopia which he had seen before breakfast. The line was really long so we picked up fast passes which only had a 50-55 minute wait. We decided to check out Innoventions while we waited . Just as you go in they have a game show of sorts and for the first but not last time Colton was picked to participate (We were in back and he is short but managed to catch the guys attention and be one of the 3 kids picked and the youngest of the 3).
It was cute and the guy really went out of his way to make sure Colton did well. For example in answer to a question A B or C Colton answered C which was wrong and the Host said Colton do you think there might B a better choice. He really had fun though the whole thing was rather corny.
The house of the future although we didnt take the time to do every presentation had some cool features, we had fun with the reactive dining table but by far our favorite and not to be missed item in this area was the little boys room for story time. Grandma told the story of Peter Pan and the whole room helped tell the story, Brant was chosen to open the dresser drawer and Peters shadow jumped out and flew up the wall. We would have loved to do this again and had planned to do the rest of Innoventions possibly Wednesday when rain was forecast but we never got back. We will have to make a point of it next trip and I hope they change up story time to incorporate other Disney stories in order to keep the house new on repeated visits. We actually loved the puzzle flooring in the boys room and since we are in the middle of redecorating Coltons room have decided to incorporate a version of this in his room.
The boys stopped upstairs to play a video game I think Stitch was in the game but that is all we did upstairs as we wanted to get to Autopia.
The fast pass line was really quick less than 10 minutes. Colton and I went in 1 car and Brant got his own.
Colton was really excited with his drivers license
and really upset for all the kids who dropped theirs in the bushes. (There were 100s of them people had dropped over the railing into the bushes really people say no thank you when they pass them out or drop them in a trash can or give them to some little kid who would really like to collect them all. Dont drop them in the bushes!)
Walking up Colton asked me Do you really think it is a good idea to let little kids drive? I didnt get any lessons before they gave me my license. I explained I would take care of the gas and he could steer, and that it was like driving his power wheel at home. He was still not sure so I showed him the track that was there in case he needed help staying on the road
it is funny that he was more nervous over Autopia than he was over any of the roller coasters.
He really enjoyed driving especially the off road part.
When we were done we watched over the railings for Daddy as he had been first in the set of cars let go after us and we snapped some photos of Daddy driving his car
and waiting in traffic to get out of his car.
Once off Autopia we headed for the main event The 430 pm JedI Academy. Colton got his sign out of the backpack and plopped down next to a woman holding her Grandson and started a conversation. They had watched the Academy 3x that day but he didnt want to be picked he was too shy but just really liked watching the other kids..
Colton had chosen the sign that said Use the force to chose me as your Padawan with arrows pointing down at him when he held it above his head. The master picked from the other side of the stage first but when he got to our side Colton was picked first. Thank you DIS before finding the DIS and reading the tips for getting picked I had visions of doing the Academy every show every day until he got picked. He asked for a trip to the JedI Academy for Christmas so this was a must for him and we did it on our first park day! Yea!
We got sodas and fries at Tomorrowland Terrace.
The JedI Academy will continue in the next post since Daddy is a huge Star Wars fan we have lots of pics of this event and only 25 pics will fit in each post. Brant (DH) has decided his dream job would be as a storm-trooper at the JedI Academy. Getting to dress up as a storm trooper every day to go to
Disneyland what could be better?
