Yo Ho Yo Ho A Pirate's Life for We Halloween *2012* PTR has begun!

Hi there

I was perusing the DLand side (WDW Vet) and decided to read your Pre Trip/TR

Really enjoying it.

We are looking at getting to Disney Land next year and I am trying to soak up as much information as I can.

Mental note not to stay at Quality Inn. That experience at Goofy sounds awful. So glad you got refunded and your son got to interact with Goofy. That was nice at least

I checked out the pics of Annabelle Hotel and it looks beautiful there.

Minnie's breakfast looks awesome. At Disney World, our character meals are more themed....like only princesses, or Playhouse Disney Characters, Etc.

It is so cool how they have such a wide range of characters at the Character Dining Meal there.

Did I read the part right about you are only allowed to stay the meal for 90 mins? Not that I think I over stay that, but is that true? Just curious

Sorry to hear about your satellite and glad the boy is okay

Okay, I Have rambled enough

I see my friend here..HI Chele :yay:

Yes thats right. I booked that meal for this Friday and they told me on the phone that we have the table for 90 minutes.

Lovin' your TR!!:goodvibes

I found it last night and got up to speed earlier today.

Glad to hear the boy is ok as well! Hope you can post more soon!!;)

I'm another WDW vet, but we are thinking of driving to DL this summer for a change, so trying to soak up as much info as I can. I had no idea they put a time limit on the character meals there either, but 90 min. seems like enough. We were there about 6 yrs ago and stayed at Hojo's which we enjoyed and the walk to the parks was fine, so we would stay there again.

How far in advance can you make the dining ressies? TIA!!:cutie:

Well, I'm finally all caught up. :yay: I'm really enjoying reading about your trip. You sound like a really great mom. I loved reading what you had to say about your son. You can tell he is loved. :)

I am enjoying your report. It is a wonderful feeling watching your children enjoy dl for the first time. I am looking forward to more. I was so sorry to hear of the goofus kitchen incident. We loved it last time. We also loved minis and had lots of wonderful character interaction. They are sure on the list again.

Well due to VERY inclement weather the satellite repair took a bit longer than originally advertised. It was hit on January 9th and here I am on February 5th and Internet has been back for about 2 hours. Just for fun this morning at about 5 am a bunch of snow fell off our roof and took out our other satellite that runs the TV so that is supposed to be repaired and relocated on Wednesday AM if the weather co-operates LOL. So I am going to catch up on a few thngs around here at the DIS and will post the new trip reports starting tomorrow as there are pics going to photobucket tonight. Thanks to all who hung in I thought I would be pages away was amazed I was so near the top still :goodvibes

Sherri, it's nice to see you back. You poor thing. I know that you have been hit really hard with the inclement weather. I am glad to see you back!!:goodvibes

This starts so bad but ends so good. Oh the pains of a rural winter and the joy of Disney!

Looking forward to your pics and it's great to see you back here.

Well our little corner of the world has definitely set some not so good records this year. I am oh so glad to be back believe me I missed the DIS and all the like minded friends I have found here. I will have to bundle up and go take some pics of our little corner of the world so you can all see what it is like. Colton has taken to calling our little town Hoth (a reference to the ice planet in the star wars movies for those who dont know)

You are not kidding. The snow is so high that last week our horses walked over the fence and went to visit the neighbors. That was a fun morning they handle 6 foot snow drifts better than we did.

I am glad to be back. I have been catching up on what I missed while I was gone what a difference a month makes LOL.

OK just so you don't think I forgot. My laptop which has all my trip report data in it crashed. Spent most of yesterday trying to resolve the issue and am still working on it. Our phone line is down so I cannot even call my tech support and we are working on it via e-mail on my hubbys laptop so it is a slow process. If we don't get it resolved in a timely manner then I will re-write them but I have 6 parts ready to go and I would hate to have to re-do them from memory as I know I would forget something as I wrote these when the memories were fresher. I think I am suffering from the luck of the Irish. A little Murphy's law goes a long way. I mean what are the odds my laptop would crash the day after I got my internet back?

Since I don't have access to my trip reports from this computer but I can get to Photobucket hehehe a little tease and a little fun for my loyal readers here are some random pics. (they will all show up later in their appropriate places in the trip report but enjoy some now)

We headed into Tomorrowland as Colton really wanted to get on Autopia which he had seen before breakfast. The line was really long so we picked up fast passes which only had a 50-55 minute wait. We decided to check out Innoventions while we waited . Just as you go in they have a game show of sorts and for the first but not last time Colton was picked to participate (We were in back and he is short but managed to catch the guys attention and be one of the 3 kids picked and the youngest of the 3).

It was cute and the guy really went out of his way to make sure Colton did well. For example in answer to a question A B or C Colton answered C which was wrong and the “Host” said Colton do you think there might “B” a better choice. He really had fun though the whole thing was rather corny.

The house of the future although we didn’t take the time to do every presentation had some cool features, we had fun with the reactive dining table but by far our favorite and not to be missed item in this area was the little boys room for story time. Grandma told the story of Peter Pan and the whole room helped tell the story, Brant was chosen to open the dresser drawer and Peters shadow jumped out and flew up the wall. We would have loved to do this again and had planned to do “the rest” of Innoventions possibly Wednesday when rain was forecast but we never got back. We will have to make a point of it next trip and I hope they “change up” story time to incorporate other Disney stories in order to keep the house new on repeated visits. We actually loved the “puzzle” flooring in the boy’s room and since we are in the middle of redecorating Colton’s room have decided to incorporate a version of this in his room.

The boys stopped upstairs to play a video game I think Stitch was in the game but that is all we did upstairs as we wanted to get to Autopia.

The fast pass line was really quick less than 10 minutes. Colton and I went in 1 car and Brant got his own.
Colton was really excited with his “drivers license”

and really upset for all the kids who dropped theirs in the bushes. (There were 100s of them people had dropped over the railing into the bushes really people say no thank you when they pass them out or drop them in a trash can or give them to some little kid who would really like to collect them all. Don’t drop them in the bushes!)

Walking up Colton asked me “Do you really think it is a good idea to let little kids drive? I didn’t get any lessons before they gave me my license.” I explained I would take care of the gas and he could steer, and that it was like driving his power wheel at home. He was still not sure so I showed him the track that was there in case he needed help staying on the road…it is funny that he was more nervous over Autopia than he was over any of the roller coasters.

He really enjoyed driving especially the off road part.

When we were done we watched over the railings for Daddy as he had been first in the set of cars let go after us and we snapped some photos of Daddy driving his car

and waiting in “traffic” to get out of his car.

Once off Autopia we headed for the main event The 430 pm JedI Academy. Colton got his sign out of the backpack and plopped down next to a woman holding her Grandson and started a conversation. They had watched the Academy 3x that day but he didn’t want to be picked he was too shy but just really liked watching the other kids..
110.jpg

Colton had chosen the sign that said Use the force to chose me as your Padawan with arrows pointing down at him when he held it above his head. The master picked from the other side of the stage first but when he got to our side Colton was picked first. Thank you DIS before finding the DIS and reading the tips for getting picked I had visions of doing the Academy every show every day until he got picked. He asked for a trip to the JedI Academy for Christmas so this was a must for him and we did it on our first park day! Yea!
We got sodas and fries at Tomorrowland Terrace.

The JedI Academy will continue in the next post since Daddy is a huge Star Wars fan we have lots of pics of this event and only 25 pics will fit in each post. Brant (DH) has decided his dream job would be as a storm-trooper at the JedI Academy. Getting to dress up as a storm trooper every day to go to Disneyland what could be better?

So obviously I got my computer going very late last night. Another episode of the TR later today. Have a better than average Monday!

Sherri, that was great. Colton is so cute.
