YNAB on sale! $14.99

bump! that's a good deal, I paid the full $60 for mine a few months ago. Still worth the money, it's a great program! :)

Thank you!! I have been considering this and just downloaded the trial the other day. I was waiting for a great sale and this is it! I just bought the program and will commit to giving it a try this year. I currently use a basic spreadsheet but I wanted to move to something that we can input from our phones, keep closer tabs, etc.

I just looked and it's still $14.99.

That is so weird. When I looked earlier it said 25% off, $44.99. I looked just now, because I really would like it for 75% off but not so much 25% off, and it says 75% off, $14.99. :faint:

Must have been a glitch, or gremlins maybe, for me. Thanks for posting! :thumbsup2

I have been using it since nov 1 and  it! Bought it toward at he end of my free trail for $30. $14.99 is a great price but totally worth even the $60, IMO.

I was just reading on amazon the review on this and someone said there is alot of manual entry on it compared to mint website. Anyone used both to give opinion?

Does anyone know if you can sync your bank account with it so you can track your expenses? TIA

You can't. And they have a post or article somewhere that explains why. Basically, it's their philosophy that automating the process decreases awareness. You can, however, import transactions after downloading them from your bank website. But ideally you would enter transactions as you go so that you can monitor your category balances and ensure everything is allotted to the appropriate category.

The programs have different philosophies. Mint is more for watching what you spent after you spend it. YNAB is for allocating dollars to categories and then documenting whenever you have an expense in that category.

I would encourage you to download and read the YNAB four rules ebook. If you agree with what they say, then YNAB would be a good program for you! :)

No, you enter as you go or fairly frequently at least. Also, reconcile accounts sometimes to make sure nothing was missed.

It isn't so much to track your expenses and see where you spent, although that is possible, but more so to give your dollars a job, live off last months income, and you spend based on your budget categories, not your bank account balance. I really like it, but I love playing with numbers. We were never wasteful with our money, but it has still changed some of our habits for the better. There is quite a learning curve and it is time consuming the first month trying to set up and learn the software, but after that it is great. I don't think we will ever stop using it. Also, you can set up multiple budget inside it so we have a seperate one for our rental properties. It has also been great for keeping up with my DH's work expenses that get reimbursed by his employer.

Might as well do the free trial...what is there to lose?

Thanks so much. I was looking at Quicken and understand they are different. I need to look into this program further.

That is what I need to do is the free trial and play around with it. Thanks so much for your response.

I recommend downloading the trial, watch some of the videos, and take a few of the webinars. It has been very helpful for my family. I paid $54 and I have no regrets, if you can get it for $15, even better.

The webinars are fantastic! I highly recommend them.

YNAB is pretty darn awesome, I started using it a while ago and have got enough for nice little holiday put away now, perhaps a Disney holiday is on the cards! ;)

I am 2 1/2 weeks into trial and already bought it for $30 to install. It already has changed our thought on budgeting. Loving it so far!
