What is YNAB? I saw something posted about this a while back, but don't know what it is exactly.

YNAB = You Need A Budget

It's a really great zero-based budgeting software and app that has worked wonders on our family finances. It is, essentially, an electronic version of envelope budgeting.

I don't even want to think about how much better my finances would be now if I had known about YNAB in college. Especially when I was trying to get loan money to stretch across 5 months, it would have been a lifesaver

This is an amazing offer for college students. I paid for it and think it is worth every penny. If you look on the debt dumpers thread they speak highly of it over there as well.

I totally agree -- it has been a real game changer for us in how we look at our money.

I shudder to think where we would be now if I had used YNAB in college. I have to remind myself that no good comes from beating myself up over past foolish mistakes. But I hope that YNAB's willingness to offer this for free to students will help others come out of college better off than I did!

I think it's a real testament to the way they run their company that they wanted to do this too. I've really been so impressed by all their staff, I keep trying to get my DH to work for them ;p
