Does anyone have/use the YNAB app for the Iphone / touch / Ipad etc?? It is $9.99 , so not an inexpensive app - so I would appreciate any feedback on ease of use, if it makes things easier or more complicated, if you can do split transactions, just any feedback :teacher:

Do you already have the YNAB desktop software, because the iPhone app is an add-on to that. They sync together. I don't think you can use just the iPhone app.

I like the iPhone app - I've had it since the day it was released and I'm a big YNAB fan. But I find I don't use the app as much as I should - hmmm, maybe because I'm not following my budget as well as I should!

It's basically like have a Dave Ramsey envelope system on your phone so it's very handy. I'm pretty sure they added split transactions capability in one of the more recent upgrades a few months ago. I also thought they lowered the price to $5.99, but maybe that was a limited time offer.

I use the app a lot, it's a good compliment to the desktop program. As the PP said, it's not a stand-alone app. I think it is too pricey for what you get, and the syncing is clunky to me. That said, it is a good app. Transactions are really easy to enter, (yes, you can split them), and you can set certain categories that you use a lot as favorites so that it's just that much easier. It's also nice to have all my budget balances on my phone, so I know just where I stand all the time. :thumbsup2

Oh yes, agree on the syncing - that is the #1 area they need to improve on the app. They need to sync in the cloud, not on a local wireless connection.

We do have the desktop version and really like it, it makes sense to us to budget the dollars :wizard:. We tend to get behind , in entering each receipt and wind up doing a large stack - we are never over budget, I just thought I could do this in carline or downstairs instead of one mass entry:headache:
i guess it would work for that:confused3

It is good for that - just entering in receipts on the fly instead of collecting them all for a batch. I just don't personally use it that way on a regular basis. I use it more for (if I used it more - LOL) checking the balance in each of my categories while I'm out doing something. Like, gee, I like that ____ - do we have any money in that budget category to pay for it?
