I need help!!! We have been to Disney 3 times, and so far I have eaten at the same restaurants because my husband is VERY picky! I don't want to eat at the same places, and going through allears.net and all of the menus to try and pick new places is very time consuming ... I need your suggestions!!!!

He eats: Breakfast :: Chicken, Burgers, some red meat and Caesar salads. Big Time NO's: Seafood, Mushrooms, Sushi

Now you see my dilemma: Please I need help! We are staying for 11 Days in October, so Suggest as many places as fit our needs!!!!

Disney is great. You can switch stuff around and order the food plain.

I'm picky too and I have eaten at

Kona Cafe
The Wave
Chef Mickey's
Crystal Palace
1900 Park Fare
Tusker House
Sci-Fi Dine In
Coral Reef

This year I'm going to try

Le Cellier-no mushrooms for me
'Ohana-dinner and breakfast
HDDR
WCC
50's Prime Time Cafe

Another one I'd like to try is Teppan Edo

I would guess that perhaps the various buffets (personally I can handle about one per visit---not a big buffet fan) might put more variety and choices out there?

Have you ever tried the Biergarten? The have roasted chicken, carved pork. . .I know they had tossed salad (not Caesar)----nice breads. . . Lots of other stuff too----but some good 'basics'.

You're all set with counter service-----plenty of burger, chicken, and Caesar salad options in the parks/resorts.

Perhaps someone else can comment on this. . .how willing TS restaurants accommodate substitutions, etc.? Sometimes I'll see 'mashed root vegetables' with a steak and know my husband would be happier if they'd simply offer him fries. I guess it can't hurt to ask?

Good luck! Hopefully others will help you!

You didn't mention what places you have eaten before ..

I'm pretty picky myself and basically a meat and potatoes kind of guy .. I do enjoy some seafood.

From recent trips -

Ohana - good grilled meat - didn't love the sides but the spicy BBQ sauce was tasty.

Kona Cafe - That teriyaki steak is really good

Sci-Fi - decent burger

Mama Melrose - usually a few good dishes

Brown Derby - few things I liked - good steaks

Yachtsman Steakhouse - good steaks

Narcosse's - good selection of seafood / steak

Cali Grill - beef tenderloin was very tasty as well the flatbreads

Wolfgang Express - that chicken with garlic butter is darn tasty!

I know my DW likes to try new places so I can usually find something at any WDW restaurant.

Good luck!

I almost always get fries.

I don't like any cooked vegetables -corn the exception, and I guess potatoes

If they have fries or rice with another entree, I just switch for the one I like to go with my meat.

I guess you are right I didn't post the places we have eaten, haha

Okay:

ESPN Club
Planet Hollywood (of course)
Rainforest Cafe (both AK & DD)
Coral Reef (chicken of course)
Hollywood & Vine, (WE weren't impressed)
Crystal Palace (both breakfast & dinner)
Chef Mickey's (breakfast)
Cinderella's Royal Table (dinner, and we all got sick from it)
Artist's Palette

Those are our basic stomping grounds for meals for the majority of TS meals, otherwise its CS

I'd like to try Teppan, he can deal with Hibachi
Le Cellier for Lunch
Boma's Breakfast
Cape May Cafe Breakfast
Whispering Canyon Cafe

but again we are staying for 11 days @ the new Kidani Village, 4 days we are going to be at Seaworld, Aquatica, Universal & Islands of Adventure, so we only need meals for 7 days, and since we can't do the Dining Plan, we will be using discounts

Any More Suggestions???

im a picky eater as well and i think alot of people here have made great suggestions for you. i would venture to say, im even pickier than your kids!! i like seafood ALOT  but i dont eat ANY red meat. JUST chicken .. oh yeah, and i HATE lettuce! :snooty: i like to eat at chef mickey's, boma, crystal palace (any of the buffets, really) also, really LOVE  california grill, le cellier, and coral reef :cutie:

Liberty Tree Tavern- I haven't eaten lunch there but the menu has a bunch of different things. The dinner is all you can eat family style with steak, turkey, ham, mashed potatoes, mac and cheese, green beans, and salad and apple cobbler for dessert. The foods delicious.
Cape May Cafe- The character breakfast is good, not a lot to choose from but the usual eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit, muffins and that kind of stuff.
Yacht Club breakfast buffett- A lot like the Cape May minus the characters and a lot more selection to choose from.
Tutto Italio- All Italian food. It was good but not a great deal to choose from. They had pasta dishes, chicken and seafood.
Garden Grill- Family style all you can eat..grilled steak, rotisserie meats and catfish.

We have picky eaters too. In the past we have had no problems getting a different side then listed with the entree or have them leave something out. I think you would be fine at 50's Prime Time, Le Cellier, Sci-Fi, The Plaza, and others I can't even think of right now. Good luck.

Your husband isn't that picky. Just about every Disney restaurant has some sort of chicken breast on their menu. All he needs to do is ask for it "naked". Same with any red meat he likes. For sides, if there is any side on the menu that he can/will eat, he can substitute for it. And almost every restaurant will have fries available for the kids meals so he can even get those. You said he likes Ceasar salads and those are all over the place - just pair it up with an appetizer for a full meal.

When you look at a Disney restaurant menu, look beyond the actual meals as they are printed. Look at it as a puzzle where you can mix and match the components. Opens up a world of possibilities (no pun intended).
