Yikes $250

So Mary Poppins is coming to Broadway. We just saw the billboard today and tried to get tickets. First of all we are already into 2007 and the seats that are available are "premium" orchestra- center 5th row isle at $250 a seat!!!! So for the 3 of us $750 not counting dinner and parking. And they have not even announced who is playing the parts yet. I didn't buy them. I am going to try my broadway "connection" first. I'll let you know how it goes.

Actually, they have announced who is starring.

Ashley Brown will be Mary Poppins - she just wrapped up her performance as Belle in BATB.

They have the actor that portrayed Bert in London coming to NY to perform the role.

We have tickets for Mary Poppins for Dec. 30th - row GG mezz. center. $110 per ticket. I'm also going to try to find a hotel at orbitz or travelocity.

We're seeing Tarzan this Sunday!!! I cannot WAIT for that!

Too Funny!! We also just found tickets for the same Sat. afternoon show. Maybe I should look for mezz. instead of orchestra. We saw Christie Romano in BATB about a year and a half ago- and she was great!! Thank you for the link to who is performing when I asked Ticketmaster they said it has not yet been decided. That would too funny if we end up at the same show. Who are you going with? I thought it was going to be just dd and I but then ds(12) said he wanted to go.
Have fun at Tarzan! We were going to get tickets for that but when we saw Mary Poppins we said we would do that one first. Please come back and tell me what you thought of Tarzan.
Good luck getting a hotel that night with New Years that weekend I bet they will jack up the prices! But maybe not if you only stay one night. Hope you snag a great deal!

Hey Java,

I've been searching Orbitz and the like for hotels, but I'd like to try and stay in Times Square area - but not for $500+ a night!

I'll report on Tarzan - look for it on the community board sometime on Monday.

My DH and I will be at Mary Poppins - my kids are still too young for Broadway (they're 4 and 2). But as soon as DS turns 6, then I will take him to BATB or Tarzan (if they're still on Bway!)
