Yet another ticket question

So I know the deal about how the 14 day tickets is valid for 15 days and the 21 day ticket is valid for 22 days. But I have a colleague that made a claim about the expiry of the tickets I've never heard of before though, and thought I'd check here if anyone has the same experience as him. My colleague says that he's bought a 14 day ticket in the past and he's been able to use it for his entire holiday if he's been on holiday for 21 days. To clarify, he didn't go to the parks for 21 days, but he says he could visit the parks up to 14 times on his ticket within the 21 day period he was there. Has anyone here ever tried that? To me it doesn't make sense that that would work as people wouldn't buy the 21 day ticket if that was the case.
