Yet another stroller question...Anyone familiar with these strollers (Evenflo)

We tried some of the lightweights out at BRU and didn't find what we wanted. I did love the Peg Perego Aria however canopy is too small and couldn't swallow the $$$ price tag, so my search continues. I can definitely see the allure though! I also liked the folded up size of the Combi Soho and some of it's other features but ds looked like he was going to fall out of it because the seat is so narrow.

After doing more research, I really like the features of the Evenflo strollers, except for the fact that most of them are not really that "light". I want the stroller to be light enough (and small enough when folded) that it's fairly easy to use for trips to the mall but also a good WDW stroller that ds can nap in when we're in the parks.

After extensive online research I have found these three different Evenflo strollers I am interested in but need some more info:

The Featherweight... have seen a few good reviews of this stroller. My only concern with the Featherweight is the seat size. Would you say it's more like the size of a medium sized stroller or more the size of a smaller umbrella type (ie Chicco Caddy)? Is your child comfortable taking naps in it?

The InSight Ultra Baby Stroller: Found this online but can't find it in the stores around here. Looks like it also has everything I want but can't find anything that says how heavy it is. Also wondering about the seat size and if ds (1 yr old) will be comfy napping in it.

Evenflo Journey: This one's a bit heavier, around 20lbs, but looks like it would be really comfy for ds, who will likely need his stroller to be suitable for naps from time to time. Just wondering if anyone has used this and what did you think?

As you can see, ds's comfort, especially while napping, is my main concern, as well as a good canopy for coverage from that Florida sun. I know I could buy an add on canopy but would rather not have to.

TIA,

We have the Evenflo featherlight, and it has been to WDW two times with us now. In 2002, our then-18 month old used it, and in February our 11 month old used it, and we will be using it again in the fall.

We really like it. If I had to name one drawback, it would be the folding mechanism (it's sort of difficult to work with only one hand). Other than that, it is lightweight (11 lbs), it folds fairly compact (considering it's not an umbrella stroller), and it is comfortable for the baby. The seat is larger than an umbrella stroller seat (more like a regular stroller), and is nicely padded. It reclines (but not a lot), and the reclining is controlled with nylon straps which are a little bit cumbersome to loosen (easy to tighten back up, though). Both of our sons slept easily (and often) in the stroller while in WDW (we have many photos of them sleeping in it). It has a cup holder in both the baby tray and the parent's tray. The basket is a decent size, too. It is a nice height for pushing (my husband and I are on the tall side and have found many strollers to be too short).

We find it easy to take to the mall, park, airport, etc. I recommend it if you are looking for an inexpensive, comfortable, lightweight stroller.

Ive never been a big fan of the evenflo's so i cant comment on your choices.

But I do reccommend that you get the caddy stroller by chicco. It folds up like an umbrella stroller, has a visor, rain cover, sholder strap for carrying, reclines part way and fits my neighbors large 5 year old.

Thanks so much for your replies. After thinking about it a lot and doing some more research, we decided that our #1 concern was the size of the stroller once folded, since we want all our luggage and stroller to be able to fit into the trunk of whatever rental car we end up with. #2 was sheilding our ds from the Florida sun, since we're all fair skinned and #3 was his general comfort since he's still little and will be napping in it occasionally while in the parks. We did end up buying a Chicco Capri (very similar to the Caddy), since it folds up so small and is very lightweight (11 lbs). It's not everything I wanted but it definitely meets criteria #1 and it steers more like a sports car and less like a suburban, which in the parks I think will be nice. DS also seems very comfortable in it. The seat is already in a semi-reclined position and reclines even more when you unzip the sides. I'm going to get a stroller parasol to help with the shade issue and I will also have to get a seperate rain cover, since the Capri doesn't come with it for some reason. I found one online that I think will work though, so not a problem!

Thanks again,
Cheryl
