Another PETA debate?
If you know anything about the way PETA holds their protests, you would realize they are not allowed on private property - like McDonalds. They have to stand on the sidewalks - on public property. So they are not going in McDonalds and handing these to children. The parents would have to allow them to hand them one of these unhappy meals as they are leaving, which most of the time is in a car. So, that would mean the parents are pulling over and allowing PETA to give these to their children.
How do I know this? Because I have been a PETA for about 5 years now. While I have never protested McDonalds or handed out material to children. I do know how it works. And I know what is legal and what isnt. These places always call the cops on us, so we know what we can and cannot do. The only people who get handed anything are the ones who stop and want to know what is going on. And most of them are appalled when they find out what is happening behind closed doors at a lot of the large corporations.
PETA is all about shock tactics, and they have done some wonderful work. Call me crazy, a terrorist, whatever you will. It doesnt bother me at all, because I know who I am and what I stand for. I would never do anything illegal or harmful, but I am all about making the public more aware of what is going on at places like KFC and The Ringling Brother's Circus. PETA just released undercover video of the Ringling Circus beating their animals with bull hooks to make them do tricks. If they didnt do this, people would think these are all happy animals who like to jump through rings of fire and other ridiculous things that animals should not be doing.
So flame away, but I bet you if all these children knew what happened to these animals they are eating, they would want to become vegetarians, too.
