Yet another Hoop-De-Dee question...

I just called to make reservations, and the woman said that the computer said that we may be seated at different tables. But then she said that when we check into our hotel and get our tickets, they will make sure that we sit together, and may actually get us closer. Is this true??? I don't care about the sitting closer part, but I don't want to make reservations (canceling my reservations at another restaurant) in the hopes that we will be sitting together, and then be told that its not possible.

TIA

How big is your party?
That is a standard Disney disclaimer with almost all reservations. Parties of 1 have actually been told that. Unless you are an unusal size party you will almost certainly sit together.

We are a party of 6. I just figured that since I'm booking past the 180 days, that I was out of luck. Maybe I'll make it and just cross my fingers!!!

We were told that with our party of six as well. We did end up together, but most of the tables will not accomodate six people, so it just depends on how many large parties they have.

1) You need to understand the ADR system.
2) And, how HDDR is different.

3) With normal ADR, they usually can combine tables.
. . . tables are not assigned
. . . if a 6-group comes in, they can *usually* combine tables
. . . other guest ADR's get delayed by combining tables
. . . now, a larger group can sit together
. . . the delay for the other ADR's is usually not that long

4) At HDDR
. . . there are a limited amount of tables
. . . they are sold as people make ressies
. . . once all 2-person tables are sold, they are gone
. . . once all 4-person tables are sold, they are gone
. . . once all 6-person tables are sold, they are gone
. . . there are exceptions
. . . if 2-tops are sold, a 2-guest can get an open 4-top table
5) Now, all guests eat at the same time
. . . CM's cannot delay one group to combine other tables
. . . there are no more tables remaining to combine
. . . if ressie person says you will be split-up, trust them
. . . only with cancellations can you be combined
6) As for asking to combine when you pick up tickets
. . . only the HDDR people can assign tables
. . . you can pick up tix only 7-days in advance
. . . tables are assigned by the date/time of the ressie
. . . tables get assigned prior to the 7-day pick-up time
. . . if there is a full house, all tables are assigned
. . . if there are open tables, you have already been combined
7) So, the usually "split tables" disclaimer doesn't work here.
8) Unless there are cancellations, it is pretty certain.

Most likely you will sit together unless they have already booked the large tables. We were a party of 7 and we sat together.
