Wow, its been awhile since I've posted here....I missed it!
Anyway, last year we had the DP for free and my youngest was only 2. We enjoyed it so much that I'm pretty sure we'll pay for it this year. My question: Do we HAVE to get the DP for my 3yo? My thought was to get it for the rest of us(would be 4 adult DP's) and just buy kids meals for her or share. She eats like a bird most of the time, or just picks at lots of things at once. I thought I had read on here last year that at least one person had said they didn't get the DP for their little one for this same reason. I know I have to purchase the DP for our length of stay, but do I have to purchase it for everyone in my party? I feel like I should know this, but with us just having to pay for our youngest the first time this fall, I just can't remember how it works...

TIA!

Everyone staying in the room with the package your getting will have to be on the dining plan. What i did to decide is go to allears and check out menus to see what the price would be if i ordered off the menu or the dining plan and for us it worked out better for the dininp plan.

I'm pretty sure we'll be doing the dining plan this year. It's not so much that it would be better for us, but it does allow us to eat places we normally wouldn't be able to. We normally share counter service with maybe only a couple TS meals in about 4 days...its always a struggle for us to even get to go to WDW every year. With the dining plan, we can put down our deposit with Magical Journeys, then we have several months to pay, so by the time we go, our meals are paid for. Its kind of like putting Le Cellier in lay-away. My only problem is that I HATE to pay for 6 days worth of TS and CS meals for my 3yo when I know she won't eat much of anything. I guess that does give us more snacks though...hhmmm...and it WILL BE Food and Wine Fest. time...hhmmm....Maybe having to pay for her meals this way won't be such a bad thing.

Can I add a question?

My husband and I are going for 7 nights and heard we have to purchase for the number of nights of our stay...but we get there at almost midnight and leave around 9:00 AM our last day. Do we really have to buy the DP for 7 days when we will technically only be there for 6?

If you stay 7 nights, you will have to buy DP for 7 days. Howver, you other option is to make 2 reservation for 6 nights and a one night only reservation. Technically, you can use the DP for the 6th night until midnight before you check out. But the downside is you have to put OOP for the breakfast on the day you leave. Or you can make the reservation as one 1 night only and 6 nights on the package.

Linzybrooke....Go to Hoop Dee Doo Review or the Spirit of Aloha Luau one of the nights, they use 2 vouchers per person, or have a character breakfast in the morning and a nice dinner at night. Or take the opportunity to try some of the Signature dining locations, ie. Jiko, California Grill, Artist Point, they are all 2 voucher locations. You can use your vouchers any way you like, you don't have to use them on a particular day. You don't have to think of it as dining for 7 days, in essence you will have 7 table service vouchers to use any way you like.

Linzybrooke,

By all means take advantage of the meals given you. Yes, its a heck of alot of food, but it sure is fun to try and use all your credits. It seemed we had snack credits out the wazoo last year, but easily managed to use them at the F&W Fest! What fun that was! When you get your credits, they will be pooled together, so you will have 7 TS, 7 CS, and 7 snacks for yourself to use in any manner you choose. You could eat 3 TS meals in one day if you wanted...or all your snack credits in one day. Same goes for the rest of your party. I would definitely think about taking advantage of those TS credits to use for something that takes 2 TS/person. Hoop Dee Doo Revue would be a great example! I say keep it the way it is and have a great time!
