Day 6 Sunday, November 12th
Yes, we actually planned on going to MGM during Super Soap Weekend. But no, were NOT nuts. Im a DIS-er, and the great DIS Gods have given me the inside scoop and told me that all those crazy soap fans arent at MGM to ride the rides or even see the shows
.they are there to wait in line all day to get autographs and pictures and see interviews of their favorite ABC Soap Stars!! Ill admit on those days that Im home sick and am tired of watching movies on TBS, that Ill turn on a soap or two
and only ABC soaps because I have friends and family that watch them. Just in case I get sucked in and end up addicted, I want to be able to talk to someone about them!.

Anyway, what Im getting at is, I know a few of the stars that are supposed to be there, so I secretly wouldve been happy if I got to see a few!
We arrived at MGM around 8:30am and walked right through the gates with no waiting at all! We went to see the Voyage of the Little Mermaid (DS is still afraid of this one) and then immediately hit Playhouse Disney Live on Stage. This show is bittersweet for me. I dont think I mentioned it before, but this is DDs 6th trip to WDW. Shes done this show just about every trip (and DS joined in once he came along). I have always loved this show because it gets my kids SO excited and its very interactive. They sing along, they dance, they shake their booties with the rest of them. We have Playhouse Disney on in the mornings in our house because Im not quite ready to give it up yet. Id miss JoJo, the Wiggles and yes, even the DoodleBops. Sorry, back to the trip report
On this trip, DD decided that she was too OLD to dance along at a preschool show. It seriously broke my heart. DS got up there and did his thing, and DD sat there on her daddys lap and watched. She did stand up, I think when the bubbles came down, but she wouldnt dance. Yes, its time I admit to myself that my little girl isnt such a little girl anymore.
After this heart-wrenching show, we made our way to the 11 oclock show of Beauty and the Beast. We parked the stroller along the curb, since so many others had done the same and we made our way in. We got GREAT seats way in the front (maybe the 5th or 6th row) and we were all ready for the pre-show. I believe theyre called 5 for $1. Um, were waiting
.and waiting. They didnt come out !?!?!? Anyone have any info on this? Another blow to my already wounded heart. Those guys were great. OK, anyway, this show just blows us away. We love it and I could seriously see it over and over again and not catch everything that is going on. So much on the stage in some of the scenes I find myself scanning side to side the whole time. Here are a few pics:
We left the show and noticed that there are now NO strollers along the curb. I ask a CM and she tells us that the stroller parking is now one street down. We head that way & see a bunch of them. Tons of them, as a matter of fact. But not ours. Ours is gone. And the only thing we left in the stroller (thank goodness) were 2 pictures that DD had received as a gift from the CM checking us in for the 2nd time at OKW. He had asked who her favorite characters were, and she told him Jasmine and Minnie. (DS was asleep at the time) He gave her two 5x7 pictures of them in the MK and told her to take them to the park to have them autographed. Unfortunately now, they are gone. I scanned double strollers for the rest of the day to find that envelope of pictures, but they were gone. Poor DD wanted to stop back at the front desk for the rest of our trip to ask for new pictures, but we didnt. I felt bad. I should have just found the proper place to park the stroller in the first place. Its just a shame, you know? We recovered quickly by showing our receipt at the stroller rental station, and we were off with yet another stroller.
I took some pictures of some Soap Stars as we passed by (thanks to a pretty good zoom feature on my camera)! For you All My Children fans out there, I had Bianca and Tad walk right by me, I literally could have extended my arm and touched them! It was pretty cool for this closet soap fan!

We went to Pizza Planet for lunch and enjoyed some pizza and salads in the nice air conditioned building. On our way to Indiana Jones, we saw Lightening McQueen and Mater just hanging out.
We all loved Indiana Jones. It had been 2 years since wed seen it since DS was really afraid of it at that point. But were all a little bigger and tougher and we loved it. After the show we took a stroll down Mickey Ave. and took some pictures with some characters:
We had yet another Mickey Bar each and then went the back way into the Animation building and met up with Elastigirl.
We went over to Als Toy Barn and saw Woody and then hit the Great Movie Ride. Always a favorite of ours. Its funny how my kids will be afraid of the Voyage of the Little Mermaid, but never once afraid of this ride with its shootings, skeletons, aliens and more. Go figure. We then got the kids all tattooed up before heading out.
On the way out, we saw Susan Lucci riding down the main drag with Minnie. Pretty cool to see.
We took the boat over to the International Gateway at EPCOT and right away found Belle and Aurora in France.
The kids started another kidcot mask, since we neglected to bring them along with us this day (although, it was probably a good thing because they would have also been left in the stolen stroller). We will definitely have DD do a passport on our next trip because she was more interested in having the CMs write in their own language on her mask than coloring it.
We also found Jasmine, Aladdin and Genie all together!
We had ADRs at Alfredos in Italy at 6pm. And at 5:45 when we arrived, the ILs were waiting on a bench for us. A couple near us were taking pictures of each other, and I offered to take one of them together. Then they asked if the 6 of us wanted one together. It was nice to share the magic.
(no idea what kind of hold DH is using with DS

)
We only waited about 5 minutes after checking in to be seated. What a WONDERFUL experience this restaurant was. We loved the atmosphere, the kids were good, and the food was to die for! I told DH that we need to eat here on EVERY trip! I got the fettuccine (sp) alfredo and DH got the lasagna and we shared both. All I can say is mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm! We both ordered the chocolate moose for dessert and it was heavenly.
**side note my kids are in to the Little Pet Shop. They have about 25 total between them. We brought them with us in a little purse of DDs and it was the best thing we packed for the whole darn trip! Any restaurant we had to wait for, or any line we were in (which wasnt many) they just pulled a few of these out and amused themselves. Just wanted to throw in that tip for you parents out there!!
After dinner, the kids finished their kidcot masks and we bought a blanket in Mexico to cover them up while we watched Illuminations. DD had her very first EVER pin trade with Lorena, a CM in Mexico. DD was admiring her pins and she asked DD if she wanted to trade. (now, me being the bad mom I am, I hadnt told DD anything about pin trading. I thought it would consume all of her time thinking about it and planning it and I was right!). So she trades with Lorena and for the rest of the trip shes scoping out everyones pins. Shes trading like crazy. I actually had to ban her from trading for a while because she was missing out on having FUN! (I know she was having fun in her own way, but I mean WDW fun: rides, seeing the sights, looking around beyond just peoples chests!)
Once the fireworks started, DS (supposedly a WDW expert) says Oh look, its Wishes. I explained to him that its a different fireworks show, and Wishes is at the Magic Kingdom. He says Yeah, but I can still make my wishes with it. AWWWWWWWW! Hes my little dreamer & believer.
We froze our tushies off waiting for the bus back to OKW and of course both kids fell asleep and were carried back to the room.
Up next How much can we squeeze in on one day??
