Yes, we went back again!! A trip report with tons of pics!!

I have to split the last day into 2 parts, since the DIS administrator is telling me I have included too many pictures ;)

Tuesday – November 14th (part 1)

I always spend so much time preparing for our trips before we actually leave home. I read the DIS like crazy. I read Allears like crazy. I check, double check and even triple check the park hours/refurbishments/EMH’s. I tell myself that no matter what – I will not get upset when this vacation is over. I know for sure that we will be going back. This is not our last trip to WDW. But there’s just no fighting it. I always do. I wake up in a bad mood on that day. I start out with a foul mood, and it progresses into sadness by lunchtime. Even when we were at WDW in August and I knew we were coming back in November…it happened. Hopefully I’m not alone in this. It’s just such a bad feeling. :guilty:

On our last day, we woke up and went to the bus stop at 7:15 for our 8am ADR at Chef Mickey’s. We waited about 5 minutes and then got nervous that a bus for MK wouldn’t show up in time for us to get there, and walk over to the Contemporary. We walked over to the Hospitality House and I asked the DVC rep how we should get there. She made a phone call and was asking someone in “the back” what their opinion was. She hung up and said – we’ll give you a ride! A very nice gentleman came out and drove us in an OKW van directly over to the Contemporary! PIXIE DUST!! :wizard: We arrived at Chef Mickey’s entrance at 7:45 and even beat the IL’s there!! (we are NOTORIOUSLY late for everything and the IL’s are ALWAYS early – so this was a first!)

Breakfast was GREAT and the characters came around twice for us!

After breakfast, we took the monorail over to MK. We were able to ride in the front of the monorail for the entire loop over to the MK! (notice DS holding his new buddy, Dino!)

DD had wanted to get the pixie dust put in her hair the day we got her hair cut, but we knew we were going swimming that day and so I promised her we’d stop in and have it added another day. This was the day. Had I known how HARD it was to get out, I probably wouldn’t have reminded her that she wanted it. But that was part of the deal. Her main reason for the haircut happening at WDW was because she knew they had pixie dust! So we stopped in, and there was NO WAIT at all! A couple minutes later, here’s my little girl…

Afterwards, we made our way down Main St. USA and caught most of the new castle forecourt show. It was really cute and the kids loved it.

The IL’s met up with us here, since they had to take their car back to their resort and then make their way to MK (the Contemporary would only give them a 2 hour parking permit for the breakfast). We asked the kids what rides they wanted to do today since it was (dum dum dum) our last day. This day was all about them and not about what we (DH and I) wanted to make sure they experienced. We went on the Winnie the Pooh ride and Dumbo.

DD wanted to make sure she saw the new High School Musical show. She and I made our way over to Tomorrowland to get a good spot. (only one other woman was waiting there, so we planted ourselves on the concrete in a front row spot!!) The show started about 15 minutes later and the place was packed! (DH and DS met up with us after riding Buzz) Lots of people came out for this show! It was really cute, but the best part was how much my kids got into it. YES, we’ve watched the movie a million times, and YES we have the soundtrack CD that we’ve listened to a million times. But we never get tired of it – me included. I love watching them pretend to be Troy and Gabriella and perform the songs for me. :rotfl: The kids were chosen to go up into the show several times.

In this one, they are asking DS what he wants to be when he grows up – he said “Jack Sparrow!” pirate:
DisneyNov2006394.jpg

They asked DD the same question and she said “a princess”. See what a week at WDW does – it helps my toobigforprincesses daughter to love them again! princess:

Tuesday – November 14th (part 2)

We had been to the MK several times on this trip, but hadn’t made it over to Toontown yet. It was time. We hit one of our favorite rides – Goofy’s Barnstormer (but why do the backrests have to be SO hard? :confused3 ) and then found some more characters:

I think his name is Friar Tuck from Robin Hood.
DisneyNov2006397.jpg

Brer Bear (or as DS says - that Bear from Splash Mountain)
DisneyNov2006399.jpg

I forget her name, I think Clarice or Claribelle.

DD and her buddy.

One of the things that DS wanted to make sure to hit this day was Pooh’s Playful Spot. My boy likes to run and burn off energy. DD is too old, according to their sign (it says that the playground is for kids 5 and under) but there wasn’t a CM around to stop her so I let her go in, with a warning to watch out for the littler kids. They had a blast and DD even ended up trading pins with another little girl who seemed to love DD’s Ariel pin. DH ran over to get a FP for BTMRR, so we were going to head over there to meet up with him. The IL’s were ready to head off and do a few of their favorite WDW things before leaving, so we gave them kisses and told them we’d see them at home in NJ! The kids and I made our way over to Frontierland and found DH, which is amazing in itself. My sense of direction is non-existent. I was SO proud when I actually made it there without having to ask for help! We went on Splash Mountain and then BTMRR and then found Captain Hook and Mr. Smee before going on Pirates again.

We caught Woody’s Cowboy Camp just as we were leaving Frontierland:
DisneyNov2006417.jpg

We FP’d Peter Pan and then DH and DD went to see Mickey’s Philharmagic (another one that DS is seriously afraid of). Once they came out, we went and had lunch (hotdogs from the Village Fry Shoppe and milkshakes from Mrs. Potts Cupboard). It was time to hit Peter Pan and then go back to OKW. We did make a stop at the photo shop on Main Street to buy the Photopass CD (we had 111 pics on it!)

It was SO sad leaving the MK. I cry when I see it on my first day there, and I cry when I’m leaving it on our last day.

We got showered (got most of the pixie dust out of DD’s hair) and dressed and then took the boat over to Downtown Disney to shop. We shopped and walked around for probably 2 hours and then we got the kids McDonalds “to go” and DH and I got food from the Earl of Sandwich (anyone else get confused in this place? I didn’t know where to go to get my food/condiments/drinks). We were gonna take them back to the room to eat while we packed, but DS was crashing hard. We decided to just eat at the outdoor tables at Earl. I think DS had 2 bites of his cheeseburger and then passed out on DH’s lap. My boy just can’t hang after 8 o’clock. :rotfl: Before he fell asleep, we had taken these pics:

DD was asleep about 5 minutes after getting back to the room, and DH was basically snoring on the bed. So I was left to pack up all of our crap. How in the WORLD do we accumulate SO much paperwork from WDW? I threw away probably 20 maps (at every park the kids wanted their own maps ;) ) and a stack of other miscellaneous papers that we had cluttering up our room. I also threw away 3 popcorn buckets. I struggled with this one. I love those buckets for some strange reason. But there was NO way I was gonna be able to bring them home. Our luggage was jam-packed. (and for those of you wondering…I like to buy the bucket because it’s only one dollar more than the cardboard popcorn holder and it seems like a lot more popcorn for that dollar!) But sadly, I had to leave them behind. I did get everything packed up and went to bed.

Wednesday, November 15th

We woke up and drug all of our bags over to the Hospitality House for our 7:10am DME pickup. We were picked up right on time and made a stop at SSR to pick up some more sad people that were heading home and made it to the airport by 8:15. Everything was running smoothly until we were checking in at the airport and one of our bags was over the weight limit. We were told that we’d have to pay $25 or we could try to move some stuff around. I was just about to say – we’ll pay the $25 (because I knew how packed all of the suitcases were, and the one that was overweight was the dirty clothes suitcase) and DH says, let’s move the stuff. UGH! We did it, though and were able to make that suitcase 50 pounds exactly! Who cares that we just dropped hundreds of dollars at WDW, DH wouldn’t pay the airlines another $25. The vacation was over, my DH is back to being a tight-wad! :rotfl: We made it home safe and sound and now we’re back to the “real world”.

Up next….some final thoughts!

Hi guys! I just wanted to say thanks so much for reading and commenting on my trip report. I wanted to write it to have as a memory for our family, but it's a great feeling to know that people actually want to hear how our trip went! Hopefully I kept you entertained as I put our wonderful trip "on paper".

kaysmommie - thanks for sticking with me! Locks of Love is a GREAT organization and I plan on continuing to support them.

Jeff, TK, Elaine and Byoung - thanks so much for stopping by!

Jen - whew! I'm glad I got another installment posted today before you showed up on my front step!! :lmao:

Ellester - I totally know what you mean about the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. In August we did the Playhouse Disney character meal at MGM and she was dreading it. Didn't want to go to a preschool breakfast. She ended up dancing for our last few minutes there, and regretted missing out on the fun afterwards. :sad2: Oh, and my DD's top 3 on her Christmas list this year - cell phone (yeah right), tv (yeah right) and an ipod (I did get her a cheap MP3 player - but no way for an ipod!).

Kat - have a GREAT trip - and I'd love to read a trip report! :teeth:

And Marie - I'm SO not a writer, but thanks!

What a beautiful trip report!

You have such a wonderful Disney Family...I got teared up at what your DD did for Locks of Love. She truly is a princess: :)

I'm so glad you enjoyed yourself :)

Kim....now all you have to do is print this entire trip report - pictures, and words and put it into a scrapbook!! Something you AND the kids can look at from time to time.

GREAT trip report....when ya going back?

marie

Loved your trip report - we are leaving Saturday and you've got me even more psyched now :)
Your family is adorable & it is so wonderful of your daughter to donate her hair! I'm in the process of growing mine now and am just about there, so I know how she felt wanting to get her hair cut, it begins to drive you nuts!!
Thanks for sharing your trip with us :wave2:

Hi there! I just wanted to let you know that I just finished reading your entire TR. It was great! Your kids are darling! And it was super sweet and thoughtful of your DD to have donated her hair to Locks of Love. Her hair looks really cute! Thanks for taking the time to post such a great report, along with all the pics. I really felt like I was there with you...you did an awesome job!

I am always envious of women who are married to husbands who are avid Disney nuts, I think men who truly enjoy themselves at Disney are one of life's treasures.

My sister's husband loves Disney. He is a huge kid while they are at Disney, its like his cares just melt off. They always have such a lovely time, and my neices talk about each trip they have made down there.

Want the same for my daughters

You are lucky..i was just leaving to come over!! THe joys of living so close to you--you always need to be afraid!

Thank you so much - all of you - for stopping by and reading about our trip! I wasn't sure if I should do a trip report or not. I knew I couldn't run with the big dogs on this board. But I'm SO glad I did! I can't wait to share it with the kids when I'm all done!

Thanks again for the wonderful compliments!

Thank you for posting your TR, it was really fun to read! We leave in 11 days and I'm so excited for DD. We're crazy too, its our 3rd time this year, but I just think you HAVE to make the APs count, right? LOL

Your kids are adorable and its wonderful how well they do on vacation. They are pixies arent they? DD(5) is almost 45" already! (btw: its NOT from me.. I'm 5'). I am hoping to get her on a few more rides this trip... we'll see :)

Thanks again! It was a blast to read!

Great report! I felt like I was right there with you. You have a beautiful family! I hope my report is as good as yours when I go in January. Great job!

Kimwim,
What a great trippie! Your pictures are awesome. And you're kids are the cutest. You look like you had a fab trip.

Enjoy it with the little ones. They grow up so fast. My oldest DD is now 14. She went through the "too cool" stage, and still hangs on to some of it as she's now a "teenager-who-is-way-smarter-than-her-parents", but she did surprise me on our recent trip by requesting we still do a character breakfast. And she bought and wore a tiara around Epcot. :thumbsup2

See...Disney still brings out the kid in us...no matter what the age!

That was a great report - loved all the pics too! Your daughter does not seem shy in front of the camera at all! Lovely family. :sunny:
