Yes! Michael Vick Indicted

The only difference between Michael Vick and his punk brother Marcus is that Michael was considerably more talented on the football field. As most people know, talent on the field will get an awful lot of things excused and covered up.

This time, though, he isn't dealing with Frank Beamer. Somehow, I don't think the Feds will much care if he's a football player or not.

It has a link "Tell the NFL to act", it's a pre-filled email that you are able to add your comments to.

Please immediately suspend Michael Vick from the NFL for his
alleged involvement in dogfighting. Vick's recent indictment by

of extreme cruelty to dogs who didn't "perform" to the fighters'
satisfaction only add to the disgrace Vick brings to the NFL.

Dogfighting is cruel and criminal, and football players must be
held accountable like anyone else. Please suspend Vick
immediately--anything less would reflect very badly on your
judgment, and on the league.

If no action is taken, it gives Americans the belief that it's
"alright" to do it because a "big-shot" like Vick got caught and
isn't being punished for it!

Playing on a major NFL team is a PRIVILEDGE. He forfeit that
priviledge when he deemed those animals his property to make him
even more outrageous money.

I think prison's too good for that mother******. His *** needs to experience what some of those poor dogs did. That is just freakin' uncalled for. If there's one thing I can't stand in this world, it's people who are mean to animals. God gave us animals to enjoy, not to torture. But, like some other posters have said, don't hold hope that anything will happen to him. He's famous, remember? Someone posted about a Rams player...I don't know if anyone's mentioned this, because I didn't read through all the posts (sorry!) but remember Ray Lewis? He was never convicted of killing the guy after one of the Super Bowl parties (about 5 years ago, maybe) but there was all this suspicion that he did. But who knows?

Thanks Eddie. I'll check them out. I've been a Nike customer since the 70's but I have no qualms whatsoever to leaving them in the dust. Their attitude is deplorable.

I have wide problem feet for which I have a hard time finding comfortable shoes. I find New Balance the only shoe to be super comfy with the wide widths and the great support. Who needs Nike?

Here's the "add your own" portion of my email to Nike (I went to the Humane Society website and used their partially completed email)

"Please cut your ties with Vick immediately--anything less would reflect very badly on your brand.

We are a sporting family - soccer, swimming, running and general lounging afterward. I can assure you that no Nike products that we already own will be used for any of those endeavors in the future, nor will we purchase any new Nike products, until your company does the only morally right thing and fully terminates its contract with Michael Vick with no payment of any additional funds to him. That means no separation payments, no "thank you for playing" and no penalties paid by Nike to Michael Vick as an "apology" for cancelling the contract.

I strive to teach my 9 year old son good values, and he will learn a lesson today - we don't support companies that support morally bereft sadistic trash like Michael Vick.

Until you do the right thing, there's no way I can reconcile purchasing Nike products with my choice to provide a home to a formerly abused, used as bait pitbull. Tucker, this one's for you!"

Great letter. Glad to hear from another pitbull owner. It's kind of sad, but finally people aren't talking about how rotten pitbulls are, they're realizing these are dogs just like every other dog. Unfortunately it takes something like this to recognize that it's the owner that's bad, not the dog.

I listen to WEEI in the morning (Boston sports radio) and there is a morning host who is so anti-pitbull he talks about them whenever he has an opportunity (i.e. a dog bite in the news). He's been out on leave for a while but I bet he's dying to get on air and tell us all how rotten these dogs are and they deserved to be killed. This is what he would have said before - not sure if the public outcry would change his mind. I have a feeling if he ranted about this right now, he'd get a lot of bashing from his callers.

I wish we could home more PBs, but unfortunately Tucker's early bad experiences make it impossible for him to get along with any other dog, but for our boxer who was here when we got Tucker, is dominant over him, and whom he worships. Instead, I tell anyone I can what great family dogs they are when treated right!

Jane, I was a PB owner for about 9 years. Her name was Ginger, and she was sweet as could be, unless you were a cat, LOL. She loved people and kids, and she was very loyal and protective. When she died, we kept her son (he was a PB mix, his daddy was who knows what) and he was a sweetie, too. I think PBs have bad names...a dog's not naturally mean unless ya make it that way.

Monday, NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell wrote a letter to Michael Vick ordering him to stay away from the Atlanta Falcons training camp until the league reviews the federal dogfighting charges against him.

Good for Roger Goodell.

Thursday in Richmond, Virginia attorneys are expected to decide whether they will request a jury trial or a bench trial heard by a federal judge. Vick will still receive his pay.
