Have a great time everyone...wish I was closer. I'm having 15-20 guests here tomorrow (plus my family of 5) for the afternoon & dinner. We have the pool so my Mother always "decides" that it's best if we have our gatherings at my house in the summer. But I'll be thinking of all of you talking "Mickey talk" and having fun. If I talk about Mickey here tomorrow, someone will probably throw me in the pool. They just don't understand. Think anyone will notice they're drinking out of wine glasses with hidden Mickeys on them?

Have fun...can't wait to see the pics and hear the reports when you all get home.

So sorry we missed everyone - we were there from 1:30 until 2:00 - we only saw one lady with a cute little mouse nose on but before we could go upto her she was gone. We didn't see anyone else with Disney clothes - we should have sent someone our photo so they could recognize us. Next time... we did have a blast there though, thanks for the idea - our girl LOVED the new splash pad. We have lots of photos from today if anyone wants us to email one (I can't remember how to add one to a post). Hope you all had a wonderful day!

As it turned out it was just one other person from my building doing the garbage sale and she begged me not to leave her there by herself!

I trust you all had a great time. I had asked someone from my building that was going to the zoo today to let you guys know! I told her to look for a bunch of "Disney Clad People"!

I did get punished, lousy turn out and I got a very bad sunburn!

Hi Alysa - sorry I missed you! My DD and I were afraid we had missed everyone too - we didn't arrive until almost 2:00 and figured everyone would have long disappeared! You would have recognized us though - we were both in "alien green" Disney T-shirts.

We made a stop enroute at Pacific Mall and got caught in city traffic!!! We did meet Lynda, TimNDansMom and CdnMickeyLover and a few others whose online names I can't remember. We were still waiting for DH to finish parking the car when people set out on their individual tours of the zoo.

We never ran into anyone again during the day. We still had lots of fun though and visited all our usuals - the polar bears, jaguars, the African Savannah and the Sumatran Tiger "babies". In tiger terms, they are babies, but they're looking pretty big these days! Sure glad my DD isn't growing up that fast!

In keeping with this being my Dis-day, we stopped off at TWO Disney Stores on the way home. DH bought his first Disney clothing - a "Stitch" polo shirt. Yippee - now he's got something to wear to the next meet!

Sorry you weren't able to make it, Scratch - we'll have to hook up next time!

Thanks for organizing this - I'll keep my eyes open for future opportunities to meet.

Alysa we were all standing by the bench out front of the green house gift shop. There was a guy juggling and trying to practice riding his unicycle. We had a little girl in a wheelchair with a broken leg and my self I was wearing a Disney T and so were CDN mickey lover they had on a stitch t shirt/golf shirt and a 2000 celebration shirt. Lynda Silk was there with us and she had her 2 kids and she was wearing a DIS t shirt. We also met another couple but their screen name eludes me currently. We had a great time this was my first trip back to the zoo since 4th grade.

Hi! We had a great time yesterday! Mat and I had a blast meeting our first Dis-ers. We were late too, and didn't stick around too long. After the zoo we had family in Scarborough to visit. We rarely make it out of our little 10 block radius of downtown Toronto.
Our favorite at the zoo is the mandrills. For some reason, they seem to like us too (or maybe it's dislike) because everytime we go by and they see us they run up to window and hang out. Here are a few pics.

Didn't it turn out to be a nice day yesterday! Perfect for a day at the zoo! I hadn't been there since Tim was a baby!

It was very nice to meet Lynda Silk, 4orm and mississaugamom! I hope you will join us again, perhaps at The Rainforest Café at Yorkdale, a favourite meeting place for DISers.

Gosh Alysa, I'm so sorry that you couldn't find us! I wonder if you were at the other gift shop?

Janet, you should have told your neighbour that you had a very important meeting to go to! Wendy, so sorry you had a family situation come up at the last minute! Hope everything is okay. We missed you both!

Jim, I made it home with no problem. I did as you suggested and got straight in the Express Lanes and it was clear sailing all the way home. Traffic was lighter too, thank goodness.

So Lisa, what did you buy at the Disney Store? I was tempted to stop there, but with my trip coming up in a couple of weeks, I thought I would wait.

We'll have to get together again in the fall, perhaps after all the October trips. There will be lots of new pictures to see.

Here's my favourite picture from yesterday. This Silverback came over to the window and sat and looked at us all for a few minutes. He almost looked like he was smiling. I wonder what he was thinking. It was a priceless moment!

To make me feel better about missing this meet, DD and I went back to the Eaton Centre DS and I bought her another collectable! I almost bought a cell but kept telling myself, "You have a CRUISE to pay for!" One has to set their priorities!LOL

We had a great time too after we got over the sticker shock!

Love the pictures. We are again talking about getting a digital camera but Jim wants a laptop too so we'll have to see.

Definitely on for another dismeet at Rainforest Cafe -- maybe the end of August? We might go into dismeet withdrawal if we want til October!

Hi everyone!

It was great meeting everyone! And sorry I couldn't stick around longer but we had been there since 1:30 (Alysa, we must have been inside the gift shop when you came around and although I kept sticking my head out, I guessed we missed you! Sorry about that!) and kids were so excited to see the animals. But I was glad to see you at the restaurant and later at the end of the day! I had to laugh because of course the Disney gang would have the stamina to stay until the zoo closed!

Anyway, it was a great day at the zoo and we had a blast! It was such a nice day! I was surprised not to come across anyone until the end of the day; I guess the zoo is pretty big!

Re another Dis meet at the Rainforest Cafe, I think this is a great idea! I think I'm going to leave the kids behind with my DH (he was away on business this past weekend) so I can concentrate on the meet this time!


Thanks again and it was so nice to be able to put faces to email names!

A rainforest Cafe meet would be great for Lisa and I. Lisa didn't get anything at the DIS store we are hgeading to Hamilton tomorrow to go shopping. We will let you know what deals we find.
