Yes, I'm On My Way - Surprise Trip 5 Years in the Making! - Non-Trip News 6/5/09

I've actually heard that Pop Warner is staying at CSR; not sure if that's true or not, but it's been over on the Resort board that they're booked there already. We went during some cheer/dance thing a while back, and even though they were all at our resort, it didn't seem to make any difference on crowd levels. I've heard Pop Warner is the same way.

Let me know where you end up staying!

I always thought Pop stays at the All Stars and the overflow (if there is any) would stay at Pop. Who knows, maybe with the recession some teams wont be able to go this year. We were there that same week and really didn't see much of an increase at all at Pop!

I posted on another board about it and just checked the replies. It looks like they stay at the All-Stars, and their moderate is normally POR, but they're using CSR this year. Seems to be the verdict, so I think we'll miss them at POP. (Thank goodness that's the value DH picked, and not an All Star!)

Sorry you had to reschedule, but what a perfect time of year!! The crowds will be low and the decorations will be beautiful!!
Hope you're feeling better these days!! :grouphug:

Hmmm....I will have to think upon this and see where I want to go. I was thinking CSR, but not so much now. I wanted to try AKL, so maybe that will be a reality.

I have to check Pop and see what's that is all about. :goodvibes

It all happens for a reason ya know! And it sounds like your new vacation will be wonderful.

Hmmm... Pop Warner week huh? Well, we might just have to meet up :) IF Cat's squad / or the FB team they cheer for do well, we might just be there for competition.

Hope they do well and we might be seein' ya!

Aw, Heather I'm sorry you had to alter your plans. BUT...going to WDW at Christmas time is SO fun!!!! AND...I think we're going to be there during part of your time there! My sister and I are trying to plan a birthday/Christmas trip during around that time. :woohoo:

We went to US during that same week in 2007. It was EMPTY! We walked on everything and usually had our own car (even for the Mummy). It was a great time to visit. DH and I wondered why we ever went during other times. Seriously, it was THAT slow. You'll have a great time!

Btw, how are you feeling?

It seems to be one hit after another the past few months, and I have more bad news. (Hopefully, our luck is going to change soon!!!)

We had to put our older dog to sleep Wednesday.

When I was 9, right after my mom was diagnosed with breast cancer for the first time, I decided she needed a baby (a puppy) to cheer her up and help get her through everything. So, despite her disagreeing with me, I saved my allowance for months and kept a little chart to keep up with when I could afford my mom's puppy.

I ended up picking out a border collie, who soon earned the name Buddy. When my mom lost her hair to chemo, he slept on her head to keep her warm. Even though my mom wasn't sure about getting a puppy while she was sick, he quickly became a major love in her life. He was there to help me take care of my mom the second time she had cancer too. He was a best friend to all of us and has been there for over half of my life.

I feel like I've lost the other half of my team that helped me get my mom through the nightmare that is cancer. :sad2: It's always terribly hard to say goodbye to a pet, but this one has been even worse on my mom and me.

Here's to hoping this is the last stroke of bad luck for quite some time...

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Pets are family members and it sounds like Buddy was a very special! You're in my thoughts!

That is so sad!!!! :sad2:

When my cat passed when I was 12, I cried so hard! And she was such an evil and mean cat!

I have another cat now that it 12 and she is my baby...I will be heartbroken when she is gone.

Keep your chin up!

And that is probably one of the most generous stories I have heard...a 9-yr. old saving up allowance to get her sick mom a puppy!

Oh and I didn't get to comment before, but Christmastime is going to be magical! We went in the middle of Dec. in 2007 and the crowds were pretty light and the decorations were awesome!

I'm so sorry about your dog, Heather! Pets are part of the family, and it's so sad to lose them. I'll be devastated when we lose our Buddy too.

And, I am putting a moratorium on the bad news. You are spent for the year. Only good things from now on. :wizard: Pixie Dust so that happens! :goodvibes

Oh, Heather! I'm sorry to hear about your dog. I'm really hoping that things start looking up for you. Just remember, you're only given that which you can handle. All these trials just mean you are one tough chick! Still, it's never fun to go through so much in such a short time period. You will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers.

Oh, Heather! I am so sorry! I wish there was something I could do to take the pain away. But I promise it will get easier. Try to think of the great memories you all had with Buddy and the love that you shared! We'll be praying for you guys!

Oh honey....

I swear youre due for the mega millions lottery.

 *hugs to you*

I cant imagine loosing our dog.

My Dad keeps saying he doesnt even wanna go to Disney because he doesnt want to leave the dog.

Keep your chin up babydoll, things have to get better right? The world needs to balance itself

Heather...I have not had the chance to say I am sorry I won't get to meet you in Sept. Hopefully there will be amother chance at disney, or if you ever get up here in New York you are more than welcome..There are a lot of great places I am sure you would enjoy, museums, Niagara Falls is not that far away...The invitation is there and you and your mom are still in our thoughts and prayers. I can sure relate to everything you all have been through.
I also can;t begin to say how sorry I am about Buddy....having been through that also, I can only offer my sincerest sympathy...just hang on to the great memories. Best wishes Heather & everyone!

I can confirm they were at POR last year and they were pretty loud (we had one above us and I swear they jumped on the beds all night long!), drove the cast nuts I think. It was a miserable experience, avoid Pop Warner, cute at the games, not on vacation! POP does not usually allow those types of groups.

Reading your post about Buddy made me cry. My roommates are looking at me like I'm crazy! You should check out the book "Dog Heaven" - someone gave it to my family when we unexpectedly lost our last dog and I just gave it to another friend who lost her 17 year old dog. I'm so, so sorry. I am a HUGE animal girl and your story shows just how important pets can be in our lives!
