Yes, I'm On My Way - Surprise Trip 5 Years in the Making! - Non-Trip News 6/5/09

That sounds great! MSSHP sounds like so much fun. I wish I could go!

Tink is gonna be awesome!

I love her too.

I'm thinking about the drawing you asked me. I'll work on that tomorow ;)

Oh great idea, I love the PP theme. Have you thought about making your DF Captain Hook, you can pick the costumes up pretty cheap on the net, thats what we did for my Dad. There are some PG Tink costumes out there, someone on here wore one last year and it looked fine. I can't wait to see them all now.

I am glad you guys are going with Peter Pan- I cant wait to see costumes!! The shows start in a few minutes so I am off:-) Have a great night.

I know; I'm so excited! I've always wanted to be Tink; DH has already told me that in 20 years (haha; it won't be 20 years, but we aren't ready right now) when we have kids, he's going to use his Peter Pan costume again and dress our little girl up like Tink. He threw in that I could be Wendy, if I'd like.

Haha.

We went during Christmas a few years ago; it was nice, but I've always wanted to do Halloween there. I will take a ton of pictures to share with everyone!

I'm so excited that you're going to do that!! Must.keep.secret.from.DH...

Yeah, we thought about Hook; I think DH has his heart set on having a lost boy, though. Haha.

I've only found a couple PG costumes, and they're still expensive even on Ebay. I'm going to keep looking for a couple more months for something different; I'll talk to a seamstress then if I need her to make something.

He he, its nice he is getting so in to it . Yes costumes can be quite expensive, especially the Disney ones. That would be cool if you could get something specially made, can't wait to see the results :thumbsup2

Hello :goodvibes Loving all of your updates. I am super excited that you guys are going to MNSSHP too. Yay for figuring out costumes. I think we are going to go as Alice and the Mad Hatter but I'm not positive yet :confused3

Wish I could help out more on the menu items but we haven't ate at any of those you are asking about, but a lot of them are on our list of possibilities. I have decided that deciding on restaurants is the hardest part of the planning :rotfl: They all sound so good!!

We are going to be on the dining plan as well but it isn't free for us ... hope it pays off since we've never done it before :confused3

Can't wait to read more updates :goodvibes

Awww you will make the PERFECT Tink! I love the costume plans, they sound awesome. The "Neverland" theme is such a good idea.:thumbsup2

I'm not going to be there in September... but my birthday is in September so you should totally go and wear a birthday button just for me.:rotfl: I will be there in spirit (but sitting in a lecture in body LOL).

Hope you can find a PG Tink costume! I'll cross my fingers for you!:goodvibes

Ooh, so excited you guys decided on your costumes! Can't wait to see pictures. Are you or anyone you know a good sewer? If so, you could easily make your costumes. Finding a family friendly Tink costume might be difficult. I've seen some pretty risque ones out there.

LSAT prep is going. I've been using some free time I've had to buckle down. the PowerScore books are my new best friends! The Logic Game Bible is by far the BEST book ever...well, in my LSAT world. Yep, I'm still planning on September. I'm so glad that I'll know you are out there taking it that day too. We can commiserate with each other afterwards.

Have a GREAT weekend!!! :goodvibes

SO FUN!!!

I'm glad you're going with Peter Pan. You are going to have a blast!! And I absolutely can't believe that your DH is wanting to wear the tights. AMAZING! I can't wait to see all of your outfits! Have you tried Party Warehouse? They might have some Tink stuff...if not, they do have wings and accessories.

And I'm pretty sure yall will be gone before we get there, but what are your dates again?

DH and I have officially decided on a costume theme for MNSSHP. Drum roll, please....

PETER PAN!

After so many of you suggested it, it became a really obvious choice for us. DH is a huge Peter Pan fan; not just the Disney version, either. He has any book and movie remotely related to Peter Pan, and reads/watches that stuff all the time. He got so excited when we went on the ride at WDW, too!

At first, I wanted to find a Wendy dress for DM. But, after searching and pricing things out to have one made, I think making her Tiger Lilly is going to be much easier. My mom will also be more comfortable in that costume than walking around in a nightgown, too.

So, after we decided to go with Tiger Lilly for DM, we figured we should stick with a Neverland theme and not worry about Wendy, John, or Michael characters.

We're going to make DF a lost boy; DH is pretty set on making him the skunk, but I told him we have to just find animal ears and a tail when the Halloween stuff gets put out this year. (Which, will hopefully be towards the end of August/beginning of September so we'll have time to look around!) But, this is going to be an easy costume to put together.

DH is obviously going to be Peter; I was looking up costumes, and many of them just have baggy pants; he said no, he didn't like any of those. I asked him why and he said because Peter wears tights. My jaw hit the desk and I asked if he really wanted to wear tights. I didn't think he'd go that all out, but he is! We'll have to find him some green sweat shorts to wear over them, but I'm excited that he's this in to it!

And, last but hopefully not least, is me. I'm going to be Tink! I loved the suggestions you all made, so I'm sticking with it! But, I'm having a horrible time online finding a WDW appropriate Tink costume. Let's just say many of them are NOT PG rated; I'm going to price out having one made. My seamstress said to try and find her a pattern, but I haven't had much luck with that, either. If anyone wants to help, I'd me more than grateful searching online for costumes or patterns!

Oh this is gonna be so cool! Promise you'll take pics as you get the costumes put together and stuff?

Hi Heather - So glad you decided on costumes!!! I just LOVE Peter Pan! I love the ride, the (Disney) movie, and the story! I am the one knocking down the little kids to get in line for this ride!! :lmao:

I am sure you will be able to find something nice for your costume. There just HAS to be patterns out there. Have you tried your local craft store for a pattern? They can be really inexpensive (sometimes $1) and if you got your fabric on sale, you might be able to make something for less money that you would by buying something online.

Good Luck!!!

oh I :lovestruc your costume ideas! I think that will be so great! It's fantastic that your DH wants to be authentic Peter. ;) You guys will be a great bunch that night! Can't wait to see pics! :goodvibes

I pretty much agree with everyone who has commented already: WHAT A CUTE IDEA!! That would be so fun :) Can't wait to see the pics when you return!!

OMG, DH is going to wear the tights!!! :rotfl2: That is just TOO awesome. You picked a good one, Heather. :thumbsup2 But you might want to tell him to lay off the cheesecake for a while, tights can be pretty unforgiving... :rolleyes1 ;)

I love that your mom is going to be Tiger Lily! She was my favorite character in the movie when I was little. And you'll be an awesome Tink! While I'm sitting here eating lunch, I googled "green fairy costumes" and these popped up:

http://www.halloweenmart.com/adult-costumes/angels-fairies/nymph-fairy

http://www.buycostumes.com/Neverlan...s-aed694e88b74a3a80a4dd4a5d4c0b5ba-sc21971735

They're pretty good costumes for the price compared to some of the higher "deluxe" prices. I especially like the first one. Those wings are just really different-looking, you know?

I can't wait to see pictures of you all! You're going to be so cute!

Cant wait to see pictures..

I wish I could get DH to get in a costume, but I dont think I stand a chance.. :rotfl2:

I need your info for my DIS list, pppplease!

Alice and the Mad Hatter would be SO cute! We thought about that one, too. I love that choice!

We've never done DDP, either. I've hear it's wonderful, though. I'm sure it's worth it!

Aww; thank you! I'm so excited!

I will be more than willing to celebrate your birthday for you. I could see what now:

"Oh, Happy Birthday!"
"It's not my birthday; but, they asked what will you celebrate, and I decided to celebrate my friend's birthday while I'm here!" :rotfl:

Yay for costumes!!! I can never get DH to even cosider it. :sad2:

DH is so laid back; he doesn't care. Haha.

I need your info for my DIS list, please! :goodvibes

I don't know anyone who can make all out costumes. I'm still looking online and talking to the seamstress who worked on my wedding dress. So, we'll see!

I have Perfect Score and Kaplan. I need to crack down on it all more, though. I have no time!

You too!!

SO FUN!!!

He's so funny; he goes along with just about anything. It wasn't much of a shock for long.

I need to go see if any of our local party places have any costumes out year round. Yay for an excuse to go shopping!

We'll be checking out on September 13! Will you happen to be there at all then??

Oh this is gonna be so cool! Promise you'll take pics as you get the costumes put together and stuff?

I will take a ton of pics; don't worry!

That's what I'm going to start looking at - finding a pattern and fabric. I just don't really like any of them online. I want it to look as much like WDW'S Tink as possible.

oh I :lovestruc your costume ideas! I think that will be so great! It's fantastic that your DH wants to be authentic Peter. ;) You guys will be a great bunch that night! Can't wait to see pics! :goodvibes

I finally got your stickers!! The envelope showed up completely threaded on the end with an apology from the post office (doesn't say where) for the inconvience and that the envelope got a bit damaged in the mail process??

Oh well; I love the stickers! Thank you, again!

I pretty much agree with everyone who has commented already: WHAT A CUTE IDEA!! That would be so fun :) Can't wait to see the pics when you return!!

I know; I'm so excited!! I have been spending every extra minute I have trying to find a costume already!

Thank you for the links! If you come across any others or are bored, I'd appreciate it anything else! I've bookmarked those two.

DH? Give up cheesecake? :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

We'll put some green shorts on over his tights; there's no way he'd give up his cheesecake!!
