Yes, I'm On My Way - Surprise Trip 5 Years in the Making! - Non-Trip News 6/5/09

I've read the first page of this and am almost in tears!! This is SOOO sweet for you to do this for your mom with everything she's been thru!! I too am surprising my mom in September, she too, is a cancer survivor, but it's mostly for her birthday! I can't wait, my sister is helping me with this, so it's not just me! I'm gonna start a pre-trip report soon, got a small one going for the May trip, but mostly just want to send you some hugs and well wishes!! I'll be here waiting with you!!!!!!

Hey, Heather! Sorry to hear about DH and his food poisoning. That's always yucky, but it really stinks that it happened on his Sunday off. I have to work a lot of Sundays too, so I know how precious those weekend days off are. Tell him to get well soon! :goodvibes

Sorry about DH Heather!

I'm thinking of you & praying for ya too! <3

I hope DH feels better!!! You sound like you're being a wonderful wife and taking good care of him!

 Awww I'm sorry your DH has food poisoning. How awful. Sending healthy thoughts his way!! And hugs for you taking care of him.

Ah I hope your DH feels better soon, poor thing. Good job he has such a lovely wife to look after him. Cant wait for some updates. Love to you both

Well, DH is FINALLY better. Poor thing was so dehydrated for days once he finally stopped getting sick just thinking about food. He still feels really run down and weak, but he's much better than before! Thank you all for your kind words and well wishes!

We had another rough week, but oh well, it's over and I don't like dwelling on crummy days!

But, middle of the week, I logged on to the DIS (sorry I've been so MIA, but I promise I'm back) and noticed there was a calendar for MNSSHP already! I've been so worried that we'd miss it and we can't push back our trip dates because of my LSAT at the end of September. After debating if I wanted to click the link after the cruddy week we'd been having (I was afraid it'd be more bad news), I finally let WDW get the best of me, hoped for some pixie dust, and clicked.

MNSSHP WILL BE GOING ON WHEN WE'RE THERE!! I'm so excited! I have always wanted to go during the time they have their Halloween decor out!

So, I need help from all of you! DH and I want to do something Disney related for costumes. We don't want to spend a ton, and it doesn't have to be couple related - just some sort of theme. Suggestions, please! DH is trying his hardest to convince me to be Turk from Tarzan and he'll be the elephant. I shot that one day pretty fast; haha. But, we want something fun and that's not over done a lot.

We have our list of TS ADRs! No idea when most of them will be yet; it'll depend on park hours once those come out (which, will hopefully be before our ADR date!)

But, here they are:
*Crystal Palace (dinner)
*Teppan Edo (lunch or dinner)
Chef Mickey's (breakfast)
*Tusker House Breakfast w/ Donald
*Le Cellier (dinner)
*O'Hana (breakfast)
*Whispering Canyon (lunch or dinner)
Sci-Fi Drive-In (lunch)
*Akershus (for the girl's night together)/*ESPN (for the guy's night together)

Oh man; I'm already drooling. I put a * next to the ones we've never been to, so I'd love suggestions on must haves! We wanted to try as many new places that we could, so that pretty much fills up our WDW days. The only place that I wanted to try but don't have an extra credit for (or the time, really) is 1900 Park Fare, so that will definitely have to be next time! We'll be on the DDP, too! (FREE!!)

I'm going to take some pics of everything we've started to buy for our trip this week and get those posted soon, too!

So, let's hear the costume and menu suggestions, please! I can't wait to hear what everyone has to say!

Link to the next update!

I wish I could help you with ADRs but the ones you haven't been to, turns out I haven't been either ;)

Though they all sound great!

*Le Cellier (dinner): I had the filet mignon with mushroom risotto..It was SO yummy!

As for costume ideas...you could go as Peter Pan and Wendy! Wendy would be easy...all you'd have to do is find a cute nightgown that is close to hers...and get a ribbon for your pony and do your hair like hers! DH could be Peter Pan...or Capt.Hook...or one of the lost boys!

are you looking for more restaurants?or just the opinions i already gave lol

Oh forgot to say we did the Tusker House breakfast with Donald.

We liked it...but preferred Chef Mickey's :)

Glad to hear your DH is feeling better, I hope he gets back to his old self soon. Your ADR idea's look great, we have been or plan to eat at nearly all of those, can't wait to hear your reviews. And I'm glad you managed to be there for MNSSHP, it looks so good you guys will have a blast. I can't think of any costume idea's at the moment but will try and think. We were at Disneyland Paris for Halloween last year (Nick, my parents, little sister and I) and all dressed up, we didn't really go for a theme but had a great laugh doing it. The men looked great as they had proper costumes, Nick was Jack Sparrow and Dad Captain Hook, then Sophie and I were bad fairies and Mum was a witch, not all Disney but kind of. Anyway I hope you get some ideas soon, cant wait to see your costumes.

Hi there! Thanks for commenting on my PTR. I was worried I was all alone over there!!

I'm catching up on your report and I think it's great what you are doing for your mom. I can't wait to read the rest of it!

My DH and I went as Peter Pan and Tiger Lily one year- that was fun. How does your DH feel about wearing green tights?! :rotfl2: (Mine didnt wear the tights- I think he had green sweat pants or something?)

Wow! It sounds like your mom is an amazing woman who really deserves this trip!!

I love the picture with Mickey giving a high-five after checking you out! I seriously laughed out loud!!

About your ADR's - I've done Akershus lunch (cold buffet was weird, entree & desert was great, and princess interaction was AWESOME!) and Whispering Canyon dinner (one word: bad).

Plans look great and I can't wait to read more!
