YES group/program Thanksgiving week 2011

I am trying to form a group of older kids for the week of Thanksgiving. I have 2 kids, 13 and 16, and need 8 more. I am especially interested in the conservation class at Animal Kingdom. I will be calling tomorrow to get more info, particularly whether we can do the class over the holiday weekend, or if I would need to hold it earlier in the week, and will update this thread with info. I would love to hear from others who are interested in the program, and the ticket savings! I have heard there will be no open enrollment at that time, and I know there were no classes at that time last year, so this is the only way to participate. Come join us! Thanks!

I was thinking we could do it over the weekend so that the largest number of folks can participate. I do need an approximate number of kids, so that I can register the group, so if you are interested please let me know.

I might be interested in this class. We are in the planning stages for Thanksgiving week. Actually we will be there for about 10 days beginning Nov. 18. My children would be ages 10 & 12 at that time.

I have a 17 and 9 yr old! I am definately interested! Please let me know what you guys find! Can anyone tell me How many discounted tickets I can Buy if I have two kids in the program? My inlaws will be joining us too. So I will need tickets for Me, DH, 17, 9, 3 DD's and DMIL and DFIL.

Did you find out if we can do a class over the weekend? How many more people do we need?

I think we are up to 8 kids, so we need a couple of additional ones. The difference between this and open enrollment is that you can only order the same number of adult tickets as there are kids participating. If we end up with people who have more kids than adults travelling, you could have the extra dult ones for your group. I was told we can do a weekend, if that is best for all of us.

What a coincidence! I happened to just call YES yesterday about Thanksgiving week. They did confirm that if there was a group of 10, that group would get to choose any day out of this week. The group must choose a class based on the kids ages and then YES would check to see if they had someone available. If so, it would be possible!

What are the ages of the class you are interested in? By that date, I will have a 18 and 10 year old. I was looking at classes ranging from 8 to 18. We are still trying to decide if a trip to Disney is still possible for us budget wise. Hoping to stay on the loop for this thread!

We might be interested too. We will be heading to Disney World after we get off the Dream on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Not sure how many days we are staying due to work but we will have 3 kids ages 13, 12, & 8.

My kids will be 13 and 16, so I was hoping for a group of older kids. It looks like interest is building, so we may have enough for 2 groups, one for your ones, and one for the older kids. I have also posted on the Family board about this. Perhaps I will ask everybody to come join us here, so we can consolidate. It looks like we have more than 10 interested in total, but it would be nice to narrow the age ranges if we can. I think that Disney prefers it, and I am sure the facilitators are better able to target the group. What do you all think? When I called they wanted an estimate of the number of attendees on the registration form, so I think we should wait just a bit to rester the group, but I would like to know we are definitely doing it, so I can figure out our time, and budget. Do you all agree?

Definitely interested too for that week. We arrive on Nov 19 and are scheduled to depart on Saturday Nov 26... so would need a program by Nov 25 or even prefer one earlier in week.
Kids will be 9 and 11 1/2. Both are in gifted programs at their school.

A question on tickets? if one has an annual pass, can he get multi-day ticket to be used later on in the year?

I have ds 9 who is also in the gifted class at his school. We may be interested depending on the date. I'm still a little confused about the tickets????

We're going to be there starting on 11/27. I've got a 15, 2x12s, 10, 9, 7.

Can we still make up our own groups? I've heard conflicting stories on that, but I would LOVE to get in on one!
