Yes Dear, you can bring CRAZY CRAB! A Magical Thanksgiving, SINGLE DIGIT BOOGIE!!

Signing on! I'm there Thanksgiving week as well, 11/20 to 11/27. 32 more days :cool1:!

And thank you for sharing your story of the earthquake. I don't think I have ever read anyone's personal account about it either. And being on the East Coast and that I was young when it happened, it's a vague memory to me.

We Thanksgiving DIS'ers should all meet up :) I was living in Gilroy CA at the time of that earthquake (I was only 9) I can't belive it has been 20 years..it seems like yesterday...It's one of those days that you will never forget where you were at the time...like 9/11

35 days!! Let the countdown begin!!!!:banana::banana:

I see I have some catching up to do here!!! We just got our DME package this morning with our bright yellow luggage tags. Maybe I'm just being a brat, but it clearly has directions on the tags as to what to do with them including photos. I can't tell you how many calls I get a day with guests having no idea what to do with their yellow tags. :confused3

Thank you all for the compliments on the Tea Cup picture. I was shooting my DH and DD and I saw them and they were both laughing and having so much fun!! Their cup just happen to come in my view and CLICK!! I have framed it and put it in my office, I wish I knew who they were so I could send them a copy!! I hope that is my DH and I in ....40 years?? lol.

Here is my DH & DD on the same ride. On the 50th Anniversary every ride that was around at the time DL opened had one ride painted gold. So of course dd wanted to ride on the golden ride every time. She was lucky on the tea cups as you see.

We got our DME Package too!! It was so exciting seeing that envelope in the mail box!!!

It's been a while. I can't believe it's only 17 days!!! :cool1:

We are in the process of selling and finding a new home as well as planning for our trip, so things have been CRAZY! Luckily everything has gone through and we found a place so NOW I can start getting excited about our trip. I feel like my excitement has been on hold.

Here is my Zombie Princess at Halloween!!

If you recognize the dress..it's the same one that she used for her role in Cinderella as Druzella, we just ripped it to shreds. Cheapest costume evah!

My DS turned 18 on Halloween!!! It's all going by soooo fast.

Coming up!! Our visit to the Disney Family Museum in San Francisco!

My husband had a furlough day last week and my foot has been feeling better so we took a day trip to visit the brand new Disney Family Museum in San Francisco!!

I wish I had more photos for you, but they were SO STRICT about taking pics inside. What an amazing homage to Walt and the legacy he's left to all of us. The tour brings you from his humble beginnings all the way to his death in 1967. Along the way you see the ORIGINAL sketchings of Mickey Mouse, which was amazing. THAT has got to be worth zillions..that little piece of paper. It gave insight on what it to be pioneer in the cartoon and movie business and what Walt and his family went through. The personal touches were really special to me like a book of Snow White autographed to his daughter.."To my daughter, from your Daddy, Walt Disney" or the items that he kept in his little box in his room like a pocket watch or cuff links and of course his Oscars including the seven little Oscars they Shirley Temple presented him with for Snow White. They gave in great detail what went into making a cartoon from Steam Boat Willey to Fantasia and all of the cast of characters that joined him on his incredible journey. My favorite "room" was the creation of Disneyland and everything that went into that. The little train that Walt had and he loved was on display and of course pictures of him riding the train.

The museum was built by Disney's daughter who lives in the SF Bay area. It's located at the Presidio very close to Lucasworks studios. It's prime real estate with an breath taking view of the bay. Because it's historic and all the restrictions there the only sign is a tiny, tiny sign in front of the musuem that if you blinked you would miss!! We hardly found the place and we are familiar with the area.

If you are a Disney fan and you come to Northern California you MUST visit!! They have a little gift shop where I bought some Mary Blair postcards, I love her art and they have a little cafe that wasn't very good. It's run by Wolfgang Puck. Overpriced and not very good food.

In the Disney tradition there is great attention to detail here and that's part of what makes it special.

One pic I took with my IPHONE, you can see the lady with the nametag catching me in the act, I got busted. The quote on the wall says..."You can dream, create, design and build the most wonderful place in the world, but it requires people to make the dream a reality" - Walt Disney

My dd learning how sounds are made for cartoons.

Afterwards we HAD to go to Ghiradelli to have some ice cream. That's a San Francisco treat!

disneym4.jpg

Oh yea, we got a flat on the way (we are about hour 1/2 from San Francisco)
DD helping dad fix it.

After our ice creat treat we went to House of Prime Rib, our FAVORITE restaurant in San Francisco. If you watch Anthony Bourdain he just did a show on SF and he featured this place. Amazing prime rib, a salad that makes you drool just thinking about it..that's right I said SALAD, creamed spinich and yorkshire pudding. The best Dirty Martinis anywhere and they give you extra in a really cool shaker.....:cloud9: AND if you are still hungry, they will give you more.

The whole day made me really proud that I am able to work for Disney and I like to think in my own special way that I am able to spread a little bit of pixie dust on his behalf!

Thanks MouseScrapper!! Yes, the brains do look delicious don't they? :rotfl:

So today I ordered a "welcome basket" for my dd10. I ordered it from Memories by Betsy

and she was very pleasant to talk to. She's going to email a picture so I'll share when I get it. I told her what I wanted in the basket and she's going shopping for it.

Epcot Passport
Tinkerbell Penny Press holder
Large Doug Plush that talks
Sequin Minnie ears headband
Tinkerbell Lanyard for her KTTW

My dh, dd and I will be in one room and my ds and mom in another. I think I'm going to order this for her from the Disney Florist as a welcome gift and she can share with ds.

Disney Family Treat Tote.

Now I'm under pressure from my DH to order a birthday cake for myself. LOL! My birthday is the 30th and we'll celebrate at 1900 PF. I looked at the cake thread and really liked the haunted mansion themed cakes and red velvet is my favorite!! Why my DH can't do this is beyond me. He said he would screw it up, so I guess I'll do it. Any suggestions for a theme on the cake??

12 MORE DAYS!!!!!!!!

 :cool1:  :cool1:  :cool1:  :cool1:

:woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo: :yay: :woohoo:

:dance3: :cheer2: :dance3: :cheer2: :dance3: :cheer2: :dance3:

That's all I've got today!! I'm just getting excited!!!!!!!

That is all you have to tell us?

:cheer2:Well that is very exciting!!!:cheer2:

I haven't looked yet on the cake thread...didn't know there was one. :confused3 how many cakes are available? That should be fun picking one!

I bookmarked the memories by besty...that looks great. I may seriously consider that idea for our trip next yr and get a special birthday gift basket for each of my girls whose b-days we'll be celebrating. I love the idea of spending money on a whole customized basket! That would be so worth it :thumbsup2

thanks for sharing and now I have a great tip and idea :disrocks:

Wow...I just read your description of the earthquake...that sounds pretty traumatic...Your description of walking home and some of the power outages remind me of some of the things friends of ours said about being in NY on 9/11-just difference between natural disaster vs. terrorist disaster...don't know if one is easier to understand or not...I guess as terrifying as 9/11 was...it may be easier to have people to blame for a tragedy than simply something caused by nature...:sad1:

I love that D&B bag and have also heard it may come out in blue...but I just read on the Community Board that it may be coming out in beige/brown?...:confused3...somehow I can't picture it...the blue would be prettier/more fun...

Lucky you getting to go to the Disney Museum in SF...:confused3

Since I love SF (in spite of the earthquake issue...)...

SF + Disney Museum=bliss...:cloud9:

btw...my son who is now 7 associates SF with the Golden Gate Bridge and Ghiradellis oh and Alcatraz...;)

I went ahead and ordered MY cake..lol. I felt so weird, but my DH insisted that if he did it, I wouldn't get what I wanted and if I did I would. My 42nd birthday is on the 30th, so I ordered a Haunted Mansion theme cake. I can't wait to see how it turns out. We are going to be dining at 1900 PF on the 27th so I figured we would celebrate there. I told the wonderful CM who took my order that I worked for Disney and she was so excited, I can't wait to see what she does!! :woohoo:

If you do go ahead and use Betsy tell her I sent you her way!! She sent me a picture and I know my dd is going to be sooooo happy and surprised. I really like being able to choose what I want to be in the basket, then she goes shopping for you!!

She emailed me a picture of the basket :cheer2:

8 DAYS..I can't believe it!!!!!!

I wished I lived closer to Disneyland, I would totally love to do a business like this.

Thanks for joining the thread!! I know, I LOOOOVE SF and wish I lived there. Awww your son sounds cute. Ghiradellis is sooo SF. You know I have lived in the Bay Area for most of my life and I have NEVER been to Alcatraz. How crazy is THAT??!!

I'm waiting to see if the purse comes out in a different color too. White isn't the best color for me and I'm hoping by the time we get there that they will have the new ones out for the holiday. I'll keep you all posted!!

Hey Mousescrapper..

I was looking at your ticker and saw your dd's name is Margaret. So is my dd!!

She was named after her great grandmother who passed away a few weeks before she was born. Margaret Katherine (my mom is Katherine) and we call her Maggie Kate for short. She's Margaret usually when she's in trouble!!

I love the name Mae too. Great minds think alike!! :cool2:

Happy Birthday Mickey Mouse!! ::MickeyMo :bday:

This week is not going by fast enough. Our red-eye leaves on Friday and I just want to BE THERE!!!

DD and I are going to get pedicures this afternoon. Thinking of doing a Mickey design on my big toe. Because of my foot injury, I'll be wearing Croc flip flops (can't have anything on my heel) so my toes need to be purdy.

I've pretty much packed as much as I can. I've checked in online. Ordered groceries to be delivered. Stocked the house with food for my housesitter/petsitter.

IS EVERYONE ELSE GETTING EXCITED?????????

Being the avid scrapbooker that I am I have been resistant to learning how to digital scrapbook, just because I'm set in my ways and I didn't think I would like it. Well a couple of my friends taught me how and now and love it. I can scrapbook while I'm watching tv w/o any mess and there are so many possibilities. So I've been thinking of layouts in my head for our trip. I plan on taking lots of pictures. I did not pre order the photo pass, did anyone else order??

Here are my first attempts at digital scrapbooking:
