YES Another FP thread

I actually think it is going to increase the RD crazies. I think more people will shoot for the RD so they can ride multiple times by later using their FP+ reservations.

I think that is very true - when you ask people the best way to use the new FP system, the sole piece of advise I keep hearing (and I agree) is to get to the park early.

Okay, now, I know some people aren't all that bright, but that's not like a very complicated concept that's easy to keep a secret.

My worrier self says that I'm going to lose my lovely quiet parks at RD (go where the crowds aren't and you have it to yourself!). But my rational self says it'll never happen. Every WDW book and website out there recommends making rope drop, and they have for years, and people still don't do it. The only influence FP+ might have there is people blindly agreeing to FPs earlier than they'd normally get there and then trying to get there early, but I bet that'll go pretty much the way EMH does -- most of the people who plan to get there for that don't actually make it.

My guess is that FP+ won't trump human nature.

Nothing should change with regard to fastpass lines. If anything, they should get shorter.

The fastpass system is distributed the same as before. Only a certain amount of people could get fastpasses for a certain time. Then it moves on to the next 5 minutes or whatever. That is the same for FP+.

The only thing that will change the length of lines is if participation increases or decreases...and from what I've observed, very rarely, if ever, did fastpass- times coincide with real time. There was almost always an hour gap at the least between pulling the fastpass and riding...which means lines can really only get shorter. The only other variable is fastpasses that get pulled but not used...which, once again, I would guess will increase with the new system...which would cause shorter fastpass lines.

This system is being a bit overcomplicated. The only thing that has changed is distribution amongst guests (no guest can use more than 3 to cut down on some guests having a higher fastpass ratio than others), and the system is now digital and selections are made further in advance. The rest of the system is largely the same.
