Yellow Mickey Ponchos

Does anyone remember the bright yellow ponchos with a classic picture of Mickey Mouse on the back?

I have this vivid memory of these ponchos, but I haven't been to WDW in a pretty long time. Now the only ponchos I read about in the parks are a clear plastic... very boring.

Does anyone know if the cool yellow ones are still available anywhere? I'd really like one of those in case it rains, rather than a plain old clear one

Those yellow ponchos cracked us up - nothing like large masses of ducks moving through the parks. I think they are all the boring clear ones now.

I still have our yellow ponchos! And we will be wearing them (if needed) next week! I think ours are almost 10 years old! I had 4 adult and 1 child size. My DS'd got ripped last year. I think I am down to 3 adult yellow ponchos. I will be pulling them out to pack this weekend.

I still have my BYP (bright yellow poncho!) that I got on my first WDW trip in 1990!!! I'm afraid to use it b/c I don't want to rip it or lose it!!! How silly is that!! We were a group of six at the time, and we kept calling ourselves the "banana brigade"!! It did look funny with all those yellow capes scurrying through the rain. I agree - clear is VERY boring!!

yellow isn't sold anymore for reasons above - harder to keep track of your group. at disneyland, it was blue. actually might still be for all i know.

I still see them all over the parks on every trip - I didn't even know they stopped selling the yellow ones! Long live the yellow poncho!!!

Oh we still have ours x4! Two adult ones and two children's ones from when we went in 1993, they then went back in '95 and '98!!

I don't think I'm taking mine back this time, one I don't think it'll fit now and two, if they no longer sell them, I don't want it going missing! I love my Mickey poncho!!

Yes we still have ours from 1995, 2 adults. I take them every trip and always forget that I packed them until we get in the parks.

I have the yellow ones, but I think the new clear ones are kind of neat. They have a picture of the castle on them for Year of a Million Dreams.

When we were there in June I heard a couple CMs say it was for security reasons...it's easy to tell if you're trying to hide something under a clear one. Don't know if it's true or not.

We have 5 of the yellow ones, & no, I have never seen them for sale in the past few years.

We never use them though...it's easier to just use the $1.00 disposables & then throw them away when we're finished with them.

Thats sad to know that they don't have the yellow ones anymore, I always look forward to getting a yellow poncho when it rains at WDW! Just got back from DL paris and happy to say they still have the Famous Yellow ponchos! they have the castle with the 15 years of magic to celebrate the 15th birthday of the Paris park!

We have the yellow ones, but haven't seen the YOAMD clear ponchos. Does anyone have a picture of the one with the castle? I would love to add to our collection on our next trip!

We have a hodge-podge collection of ponchos from a trip many years ago - 2 of the old yellow Mickey ones, a blue one from Busch Gardens with an animal on the back. I'm sure there's a blue one from Sea World featuring Shamu, and a plain yellow one. I packed them all for our July trip, and forgot them at the hotel when we went to Busch Gardens. Of course, there was a thunderstorm on our Busch Gardens day - after 2 hours of rain, I gave up on the idea of waiting for the rain to subside so that we could leave, and wound up buying another 4 ponchos! DH refused to buy one - on our way out of the park, DH stopped for a turkey leg, and was given a huge plastic bag to use as a makeshift poncho. He tore a hole in it, slipped it over his head and went about his merry way!

The BG ponchos are bright yellow with Busch Gardens written on the back - no animal pictures

We still have our 3 adult ones from 2000. I love them! There is no comparison! Why can't they bring them back! When were were there in March they had pink princess ones as well, and i may be imagining, but I believe i may have saw blue YOMD but that could be a dream who knows?!

how much are the ponchos if we were to buy them in the parks? I was going to stock up on dollar store ponchos but may get them at WDW. If you put them in your backpack when they are wet till you get back to the room at the end of the day, do they get smelly and gross after being folded up and packed away after using?
