Yellow Mickey Ponchos

I think it's 7 $ for each... They are quite cheap and the best thing to wear in the parks. I would never wear them at home, but It feels wierd if you wear a normal raincoat in the parks :)
BTW: nice name...

Thanks. Nice to know the price is only $7.00. I will buy them there. Do they get yucky if you put them back in your pack after getting wet?

The name is I guess what my pediatrician used to call me when I was a baby. I was a really, really tiny preemie. 1lb, 13 oz. Doctors said they knew I would survive cause I had such a mischeivious sparkle in my eye and a good set of lungs on me which I used frequently. Things haven't changed much. lol

Thats sad to know that they don't have the yellow ones anymore, I always look forward to getting a yellow poncho when it rains at WDW! Just got back from DL paris and happy to say they still have the Famous Yellow ponchos! they have the castle with the 15 years of magic to celebrate the 15th birthday of the Paris park!

I wonder if it would be possible to order them from there. I remember a long time ago before stuffed Flounders were as popular as they are now, my sister wanted one for Christmas. My mother didn't even know if they made them - but she called the Emporium at WDW, figuring that if Disney made it, they would know (and probably sell it) They found one for her and sent it in time for Christmas, with a Santa Mickey card signed by the mouse himself! Now that's what I call pixie dust! pixiedust:

I got mine during Year of a Million Dreams, but it only have Mickey on them :sad2:

me too!!!:sad2:

I actually saw someone in Boston last Friday wearing the yellow Mickey poncho!! I laughed out loud when I saw it!

I like the Mickey ones better than the cheap dollar store ones....we used the cheap ones last year and I hated the way they stuck to my arms and the "hood" part never stayed on my head. The Mickey ones are heavier and don't stick as much...I just keep a large ziploc in my bag and fold them as much as I can when it's not raining.

We have the official mickey ponchos, but I never bring them anymore as they are so bulky. A disposible 1.00 poncho can be placed in everyone's waist pack and no need for a back pack to lug stuff around.

Yeah.... Disposable $1.00 ponchos are good for the kind of rain we get here in Southern California. But I grew up on the gulf coast of Texas, I know what hurricane season is like and those flimsy saran-wrap like ponchos are not going to cut it in a good deluge. The thing I liked most about the BYP (other than that they have ::MickeyMo ) was that they were good and sturdy, but also can be folded up really small to fit in a bag (which I already know I'm going to need) - better than, say, a full-on mackintosh!

*sigh* I may have to go without. But I'm still holding out hope for eBay.

Does anyone remember the bright yellow ponchos with a classic picture of Mickey Mouse on the back?

IDoes anyone know if the cool yellow ones are still available anywhere? I'd really like one of those in case it rains, rather than a plain old clear one :sad2:

OMG! I am leaving for DW in 3 days and my mother just pulled 2 of these from her basement in great condition. We went as a family (me in college & lil sis in hs in April of 1990. That's how old these things are & they look new! If they mean that much to you, you can have them at cost of shipping. Just PM me AFTER I get back & I'll give them to you!. (no time to deal with email right now.) These are the really bright yellow ones with Mickey holding his hands behind his back.

It is funny, we just watched the video from that 1990 trip the other night & I was floored. My parents were only 2-3 years older than I am now & looked so young and thin. They are both extremely overweight now (dad quit smoking shortly therafter and they both started dining out EVERY night) I'm taking it as a wake-up call to take better care of myself. My sister's hairdo in the video is worth every penny it costs to transfer! She was classic South-Philly rooster-doo --------it looked like a plastic scrubby on the front of her head! Too funny! Just PM me and I'll send them to you! They are cute!

I still have my yellow poncho's. Take them every time we go. Was there 1st of month, it rained the entire day we were at MK and was so glad I brought them, you can only buy clear ones now. We needed one more and I had a hard time finding one with Mickey on it.

I actually saw some of those for sale at a 7-11 this week while we were in WDW. If we did not already have poncho's I would have gotten some

We do have those.....

We bought clear ones last year though....

It's easier to recognize someone from the back since you can see the clothes they are wearing

I have the yellow ones, but I think the new clear ones are kind of neat. They have a picture of the castle on them for Year of a Million Dreams.

ooohhhh, mine from 2 years ago only have Mickey on the back. Now I want one of those!!!

I just found my yellow poncho from my first trip in 1990! :yay: I still love it, but I bought new (non-Disney) ones for this trip b/c I didn't want anything to happen to my yellow one!!!

My parents still have the yellow ponchos from when we went in 1989 when I was 5, they were also used in 1995 when we went for the second time.

Some of the area gift stores (like Bargain World) sell colored ponchos with Disney characters on the back. They have yellow with Mickey, but they say Florida instead of Walt Disney World. I have a yellow one with Pooh on it from our honeymoon. I bring it to the summer camp where I volunteer and wear it every time it rains! :)
