Yelled at by Cast Member

This is why we love to pay the high prices for the MAGIC .I go to a lot of other parks have AP's to the 1 by me .But Disney prides itself in cust.sat. I hate to say it but the generations are changing and life is putting more stress then before and it shows up everywhere.
It's not right but thats how it is .If they are having a bad day they should ask to be moved to a stage not in front of the public for that day.
It's sad because Disney will just be another Universal with smaller rides .Not that US.is bad just different then Disney.

I did go to city hall and gave them the name of the CM. Canndee at city hall was very nice and had me write out a complant card.

Good for you.
They really should hear about these things. How else will they know that the quality of their customer service is going downhill otherwise?

She fell backward onto the ground. The CM noticed, and completely ignored her.

Now this is just plain mean. She should not be allowed to work with guests at all. That's dangerous, not paying attention to guests with handicap or disabilities.
I'm glad you said something about that.

On the flipside, if we see a CM giving over and above what is expected, we really need to write in a commendation letter also.
I've done that several time with CMs in WDW, and always gotten an acknowlegement letter/email back.

To explain the "shortness" of the CM's at Space Mountain, when we were there this summer, while in line for Space Mountain, the ride went down twice. The family in front of us were getting a little unnerved until a CM explained that there is 8 seconds for the riders to exit the vehicle, and 8 seconds for the new riders to enter the vehicle. If they go beyond that 16 seconds, the ride shuts down, and it takes 15 minutes to reset it (which we experienced while on the ride the night before!). Not that it's o.k. to be yelled at, but it does explain their "shortness".

OMG!! It's funny you mention that!! A CM told my boyfriend and I the same thing before getting on the Winnie the Pook ride. She didn't go into details but just asked us if we were going to "behave". My boyfriend and I only exchanged looks but didn't really do anything about it. I do think in your case she definitely crossed the line!!

I agree with the above post. The people they hire these days seem quite disgruntled. I noticed that they are given a paper which lists schedules and times for stores and restaurants throughout the park, but each time I need help most of them respond with "I don't know" or give me a blank look.

I've never been yelled at by a CM but I did run into an extremley rude one this past July. I did write to their guest relations. Here's my e-mail to them:

Dear Sir,
Recently I visited the park with my boyfriend in celebration of my birthday (July 2nd). Every year I celebrate by spending the day at the park(s). Each year has been great except for this year. On my recent trip my boyfriend and I waited in line to ride the new Winnie The Pooh ride. When it came
time to board the ride, the cast member who greeted us was extremley rude. The first thing she asked us was the normal "How many?" and we said "Two." Then we were shocked to hear her say "If you two are seated in the back will you keep your hands off of each other and not make out?" I thought she was joking but she was quite serious and looked angry. We are grown adults and not hormonal teenagers! I was speechless and my boyfriend was angry and we both could not believe she said that to us. As we sat down on the ride she then turned to us and said "Remember, we
have cameras! I can see you two!" Do all cast members greet park guests with such disrespect? I'm sure if any other party were in our shoes, they too would be offended. I don't know if she was grumpy from having a lousy day or if she was disgruntled for having to work the 4th of July weekend,
but her attitude and outbursts were unexcusable. I honestly hope that if my boyfriend and I visit the park in the future that we are not treated with such rudeness again.

They did respond with an apology. Unfortunately, I did not catch the CM's name. I'm sorry you had a bad experience. Don't let one rude CM ruin your love for Disney. The chances of you seeing them again should be quite slim. Just try to brush it off and I hope your next visits are more pleasant. :earsboy:

Whoa! I never knew that! Are you sure? It seems to take me a little longer than 8 seconds to get seated properly with the bar pulled down. I try to climb in as quickly as possible and then lift a leg to slip my backpack strap onto my thigh. It's so tiny to squeeze into the bucket seat. As for long legs, my uncle is 6'1 and the CM recommended he sit in a particular spot. One of the cart rows has more leg room for tall riders. I never knew that either!

I for 1 understand CM are people also but I just say one thing to them WWWS (What Would Walt Say) in a very calming voice. They will either smile and thank for the reminder or snip further and get reported.I try not to be confrontational ,rude or embaress them but get the point across that it's not exceptable on most cases.

As for the times to get on and off the ride they should explain the time issue in the same time as they could do the rudeness and get better results.

There is probably not enough time to explain the time issue :rotfl:
Maybe they should post a sign? I like your gentle reminder to the CMs. I will have to give that one a try, thanks! :sunny:
