Its now offical, flights booked to Miami for 21 July going for 17 nights. can I request a bulkhead seat due to having an infant with us or can we pay for extra leg room seats.

Went through Quidco when booking so hopefully another 10% off.

Wayne thanks for the tip off

Threads that start with an angry faced icon or things like 'Grrrr' worry me before I even start reading.

Yeehaa? I LOVE IT! It spells good news! Congratulations! I do like to hear happy news. :cool1:

So glad we now know we will be returning to WDW and at a great price too, even factoring the extra flights and maybe a hotel the night before will work out alot cheaper than flying from Glasgow.

You're so right. I learnt after the fact that our flights from Glasgow this year cost us £1450 odd for myself and DD, mainly because Flight inclusive packages to date have meant DD is a full paying adult. By booking my own flights I am saving several hundred ££. DIY can be a lot of work, but I must say, I am enjoying it. I did similar to what you did, but wanted a different route. Okay, I shouldn't say 'did' as I still need to book the flights. In past years I found it cheaper to fly from MAN, even with the hotel and connecting flights. This year, for the same price I can fly from Edinburgh. Difference for me is, it's a nicer route and I prefer Edinburgh airport. :confused3

So aside from your ADRs and fine tuning your itinerary, are the big things pretty much sorted?

Just need to readjust where we are staying, already have BWV, HRH booked. Need to see whats on offer for miami or just head up to Vero beach for a few days. So excited now

Not surprised you're excited! You're doing some new things this time aren't you? What are the kids saying about it all? Are they helping with the research? (Kids are great at that - they go straight for the most expensive places :lmao:).

My DD aged 12 wants to stay in Miami for a few days and do everything like they all want to do, but my other DD (19) wants to go to Vero Beach for a few days to relax and get a sun tan. Both are making plans without taking myself or wife into consideration. Typical kids.

Well done, Happy Planning.
Hope to see you at a DISmeet, although we don't get there until the 5th August so maybe not, we will see what I can arrange nearer the time.

Not heard of the 10% offer but doesn't look like you are going in the offer dates or the correct airport so it will be 2%.

Details
- 10% cashback for return flights to Orlando
- From London Gatwick only
- 10% Eligible on departures between 4th of November and 13th December inclusive and departures between 1 March 2011 and 22 March 2011 inclusive
- Qualifying transactions will initially track at the default rate of 2% and will be uplifted prior to payment.
- Virgin Atlantic will not pay commission on airport tax or fuel surcharge

Hey...well done:thumbsup2, we are going the week after you and also booked thru quidco, because you only get cashback for the flight price and not all the tax you have to pay we have made about £15.00. But its better in my pocket than theirs.....Made over £70.00 this month thru quidco (thanks for the tip Wayne) and Ive not started on the xmas shoppoing yet.

Wayne think you are right about Quidco, got email last night and the cash back was £16.24 on price of £812 so must have been over £1000 in taxes.

You wouldn't be able to sit in extra leg room seats with an infant, you have to be 16 before they will give you these seats, my 23 DS was ID last week as he had requested an extra leg room seat

The VS LHR fleet don't have the extra leg room seats in Econ that you get on the LGW/MAN fleet. They only have exit rows which need you to be over 16 to sit in.

I would request bulkhead if you are going to be able to use a skycot as it will give your arms/laps a rest otherwise there are no real advantage.

On the LAX/LHR last week, an airbus A340-600 346, there were about 10 extra legroom seats available to buy at $50 per seat that were available to anyone ie. not exit row.

These seats were covered in a purple fabric instead of the red fabric to distinguish them.

We were in the bulkhead so didn't need them but I had a quick look...they offer perhaps 3" more legroom, the width was the same.

As to the bulkheads, do not sit in row 43 DEFG if you are a size 14 or above/16" shirt for a male....terrible seats!!!!!
