It happens rarely whereas human beings, people just like me and you, are assaulted, groped, raped, victimized every minute of everyday in every part of the world.

Statistics show that false reporting is quite rare. It happens, but not often. I'm not pretending it's never happens. It's rare enough though that it shouldn't be the default reaction.

I'm actually quite disgusted by a lot of the comments on this thread. It really shows exactly why we need the #metoo campaign. People really are blind to sexual assault and can rug sweep it in a heat beat.

There isn't always proof in these kinds of situations. In fact, there isn't proof in most of these situations. That's why people get away with it. It happens in private.

There's also a lot of it's just a squeeze and it's no big deal and why didn't she report it going on. As awful as it would be to be falsely accused, as a victim, I can tell you it's a million times worse to live your life knowing your abuser is walking around likely abusing others.

I'm reminded of a question posed of "what is porn?" and the answer is often "I know when I see it" which usually means to one person it's porn but to another it's not, it's just a naked photo. Could this be a case of to her it was sexual assault but to someone else it would have just been a harmless, inadvertent brush against a butt?

This type of thinking just absolutely blows my mind. That's not how any of this works. So many people become predators and get away with it because others trust and like them. When allegations first came out, people didn't want to believe Bill Cosby and Stephen Collins (7th Heaven dad) were like that, so they made excuses. And they had MANY victims. Larry Nassar, a doctor from USA Gymnastics, has HUNDREDS of victims and when he was first accused he was backed up as trustworthy by many people. This kind of thinking is the exact problem in our society.

Sorry to blow your mind . You are doing a really great job of cutting out sentences of people's comments to make your points. Did you miss the part where I said I believed Michelle thinks she was assaulted and that if it's true that Bob did assault her then he should be fired?

I sort of took the scenario that someone in the group had a phone and when they saw the hand on the butt they snapped a pic, not that they were taking a pic and just happened to get a pic of it by coincidence.

You're right. I went back and re-read what she wrote and it does sound like the pic was snapped specifically of that. When I first read that there was a picture, I was picturing some sort of group picture that happened to have caught the hand on the tush.

I have no idea what you do but simply allowing public accusations without proof isn't the way. That is far from a straw man argument; public accusations with no proof will have a lasting effect on the accused in the court of public opinion. If you allow it to happen in these cases it will become acceptable for anything.
