Year of Million Dreams -- anyone else get something yet? Post your wishes won here!

Wow, what a special thing to happen for your DD and her DF, how wonderful (and magical!)

My cousin and her boyfriend got 3 YOAMD things (one official and 2 unofficial)

She got the Dream FASTPASS at MGM while waiting for Rock N Rollercoaster.

They also got a special thing, while riding Test Track, a un-uniformed Cast Member was riding with them and identified himself as Public Relations, and they talked about the ride. They also mentioned being from Red Deer (halfway between Calgary and Edmonton) and he said he was from Medicine Hat, which is in AB as well. Afterwards, my cousin said to her boyfriend "Let's do that again", and the CM said "Don't go too far". He then took them to see the control room of Test Track, and let them skip the line.

Also, when they went to buy their photo of Test Track, they got a free frame.

DCA_MillionaireFreak: Good to see another Calgarian on the boards! What is the best way to get cheap WestJet flights direct to Orlando? We're heading down on United because they were the best at the time when we were reserving, but now WestJet looks pretty good. We're paying ~$600 CDN/person return (April 29, 2007 to May 11, 2007). I saw that sometimes fares can get as low as $165/person one way.

Just returned yesterday. When we arrived we upgraded to the concierge level which was awesome. So after that I was content not to win anything else. The parks for really crowded for our 4 night trip and we saw a few people with dream lanyards and fast passes and even a few with mouse ears. Whenever something weird happen on a ride I would think that it was because someone was winning something and yet I saw nothing.

However on our departure day we ran to Magic Kingdom to hit the fantasyland rides that we missed. After out first ride (Peter Pan) the attendant said "Congratulations you won" and were given the "Year of a Million Dreams" Lanyard with two pins. We were very excited.

Another magical moment was at dinner at Cinderella's castle when the couple at the table next to us got engaged. It gave my husband and I a chance to talk about he proposed and how different that was. :)

This is the reason I love Disney so much - because they seem to go out of their way to make you feel special, even without special promotions. My husband and I went to Disney World on our honeymoon and it is unbelievable the amount of special treatment that we got! We wore our bride and groom pens and so many small things happened - we got free desserts, we got to be volunteers in shows, housekeeping decorated our room (we had bride and groom Mickey hats so that tipped them off), special treatment at shows, etc. We were truly made to feel special. My husband had initially agreed to go as a concession to me, but when we came back home he told everyone getting married that Disney was where they needed to honeymoon! I am so excited about going back this Feb with our DD(1) to experience more magic!

I agree! We went for our honeymoon and we were treated like royalty! Every time we go- we've always had those "extras" that make a WDW vacation better than anywhere else- I think the CM's have always gone out of their way to make every Disney trip a magical experience! THat said- I hope I get one of the wishes on our Feb. trip!

A friend of ours just came back and it was his daughter's birthday.

She had a pin on that said it was her birthday and while they were waiting in an hour and a half line to see the princesses when suddenly a woman came up to them and said, "Your wish is granted!" She pulled them to the front of the line where she got a one on one with the princesses. she also recieved a special dreams pin.

happy birthday! :cheer2:

I can not wait to go in a couple of weeks...It will be our 12th wedding anniversary on the 12-3 and am just so excited to celebrate at WDW!!! And who knows maybe we will get some this magic pixie dust! Here's hoping that WE ALL get some Magic Pixie Dust!!!

It is so nice to hear all of these magical stories! I really can't wait to go in January!!!! :woohoo: :yay:

I was at the Contemporary between 11-11 and 11-16 for a convention. At check-in, I was given an upgrade to a suite with a view of MK - fantastic fireworks show every night and even had to go on the balcony. Not sure if the upgrade was a part of YMD or not, but it was completely unexpected. Went into the buisness center to check email and was not charged the standard $10.00 - again not sure if it was YMD or just the lady being kind, but again it was completely unexpected. Went to MK one afternoon and had a ball - saw the "prize guys" and they were truly being stalked. Had a great convention, booked my family's summer vacation and got a great deal! I was expecting anything less than a great time (even if I was by myself) and I had a ball. Disney just knows how to make you feel special and at home - there truly is no other place like it on earth.

Not from the 'Dream Team', but we had the most magical time at Epcot last Saturday 11/11. We went for EMH and were maybe the 5th or 6th family in line at Test Track waiting for the rope drop. A CM was walking down the line talking to folks and I happened to notice that she was from my home state. I pointed it out to my DS7 and we started talking to her. After a minute she asked our family to come out of the line said we were the 'first family'. We went into TT and were the first riders in a car by ourselves. My DS was psyched since TT is his fave ride at EP. When we were done, she was waiting and asked if we wanted to ride again without getting off!! We said sure. After our ride she gave us a free picture of us on the ride. She asked my DS 'what do you want to go on next'? He said Mission Space--so off we went with this wonderful CM. We got to go in the control room and then on the ride--we chose the mild side. She told us all kinds of interesting facts about the ride--it was awesome. Then she walked with us to Spaceship Earth and then to Soarin' where she was able to get us fast passes!!! It was truly a magical morning thanks to this wonderful CM!! :thumbsup2

trip length 11/6 to 11/13

DW & DS9 both wearing birthday pins, free ice cream at ice cream cart MGK

2 YOAMD memory certs. for DW & DS-9 for their birthdays

DS-4 was w/DGM while we (DW/DS-9/me) went on on Test Track. CM challenge DS-4 with remote control car race, got YOAMD memory cert. for it

CM had my 2 DS's 9/4 challenge each other to a game of Joust video game. DS-4 won, I helped on the wing control, he received the YOAMD cert and a small put it together yourself car, he was asked to share it with his brother.

none of these from the dream team.. cool.. :)

Sunday, Nov 19 (Today) - We won this morning at Test Track! After we were all funneled into the "holding area" the doors shut and the CM said "We are from the Dream Team!" Of course I was SOOOO excited...even before I knew what we had won!

We won VIP fireworks viewing for tonight and then EPCOT to ourselves for an hour after closing! They gave us special armbands and a special pin to wear. I was just excited to witness anything from the YOAMD!! :rotfl:

I did think it was funny that most of the people seemed to have no clue what the CM was talking about - even after they were done passing the stuff out people were like "now WHAT is this for?" It made me realize how important the DIS boards are! I immediately told my husband that NOW I HAVE SOMETHING TO POST! :rotfl2:

was it really only your family and no other guest?

No, it was everyone who received the pin and armband throughout the day at Epcot. I think it ended up to be at least several hundred people. Here is what happened (don't read if you are going soon and want to be surprised if you win):

We met at the designated spot and watched the fireworks. It was very nice to be that close but I'm not sure our view was any better than other places. Then we waited about 20 minutes and the doubledecker bus with Mickey & Minnie showed up. They announced it was time and we got to go into the park for an hour by ourselves (us and all the other people). Most of us went to Soarin'...and guess what! We waited and waited and it broke down! So, we didn't get to ride anything on our special hour :rotfl: BUT we were excited just to have experienced everything else so it was no big deal to us but there were some UNHAPPY people!!

We didn't get a dream but one of the cast members tried to get one for my nephew. We were getting on the train to go to Rafiki's Planet Watch and he asked if he could ride in the engine. A cast member asked me what he wanted and I told her. Then she went and asked one of the cast member's working there if he could ride up front. Well, they aren't equipped for that but I thought it was nice that she asked. I don't know if she was an official "dream giver" or not. Then one night we were at Epcot waiting for Illuminations and my sister had staked out a spot on a bench by the boat dock in front of Monocco and a cast member asked if she was waiting for the fireworks. My sister said that we were and the cast member said that she was going to try and do something for us. Sure enough, just as the fireworks were starting she came and got us and let us go down on the ramp to the boat dock. We had to stand up but there was no one else there so we had a great view.

I'll be keeping an eye out next weekend for you all :)

I hope to see at least someone receive a wish while we're there!! :)

11/16-11/23

Nothing

Only day we saw people with YOAMD fast pass or the Mickey hats was on Friday the 17th--very rare afterwards to see people with these--perhaps also it was cooler weather-wise and people were bundled up?

Another Disney guest at Epcot handed us two of there Mission Space YOAMD fast passes--so we used those.

We had DDP as well so they couldnt have given us any more food.

We didnt book because of the YOAMD but would have been nice to win something.

I don't know but it doesnt seem that WDW is ingraining this YOAMD into the CM's culture? Is it being stressed? 'Remember today to give 3 free popcorns or whatever?'

The Air-Tran Stewartess did give us an extra bag of peanuts so that made my day

Just returned from a trip this week. On the 20th, while waiting in line for Dumbo with our DS, my DH and everyone else in the front of the queue about to board the ride received a YOMD fastpass. It was a crowded day at the Magic Kingdom, and the fastpass made it so much more enjoyable and easy to take our son on the rides.
