VMK staff members are paid. It's a regular job, similar to cast members in the park and any other job.

Don't you have to have a degree of some sort, maybe computing?

I know testers should have a degree in computer science for the programing that they do.

:O I should get a degree in computer science due to all that I know about computers.. + Tester.. XD You get to do a fun job, what more could you ask for?

Good luck! I know someone getting a minor in computer science and she said that computer programing is very difficult. One wrong thing (could be a ; instead of : ) and the whole program won't work. Then you have to find where the problem is. If you feel you can do it and are up for the challenge, more power to you. :goodvibes

LOL.. I'm 13 and I can already make my own programs with VB6..

I wish I could get paid to work on VMK. Actually, I think I'd like to design the graphics, like the costumes, pins, and furniture. I don't have any formal education though.

It would be fun, but did you see those hours? And is it really fun to work with difficult people and not be able to make friends? Get new releaases or quests?

That's a great start! You have lots of time to prepare for it, then, and some experience under your belt. (Lucky! lol I wish I could do programing) Keep in mind that math is an integral part of computer science. At my university, a computer science major/minor has to take calculus. So, the only advice I can give you (since I don't know that much about computers and computer science :)) is keep up your math grades. The girl I know said that the people in her classes struggle with the math part. (She's a math major, so she struggles with the programing part.)

You make the heard things seem easy lol. I have made my own site.
You can got through the whole thing see if it works by previewing it. After that You see any problems you go to a CSS which helps design the web page, I dont use them but you do that then, you look through your HTML (the thing that makes the site run) then find a problem fix it. Then it could give you another problem, trust me it is happening to my new site now and I am even using a professional Site building program

That's a website though, see.. Making your own programs.. Like games and things, IS MUCH HARDER than a website.

that is so cool!!! i wish i could do that!!!! i'm a little bit younger than you and i have no idea how the heck you get started with that kind of thing!!! i would like a job on vmk as staff in several years, that would be awesome!!! i have top grades in all my classes and if i worked hard, i could possibly get a vmk staff job when i'm older!!!! then again, you don't get much excersize, and i would die if i didn't have an active job when i'm older!

i wonder how you apply for a vmk staff job? i suppose you could start by becoming a community leader.................... WAIT!! What if vmk closes before i'm old enough to consider jobs? LOL!!! Just think what your parents would say if you said you wanted to work for vmk!!!

I think VMK will be around for a LONG time..And it depends what kind of job you'd want... For the testers.. I think you go to disney.com or somewhere at VMK.com

well in my high school in twelfth grade ( which im going to ) we get to decide to take a career plan thing or something...its an after-school thing and one of the teachers teach you stuff..( go figure! teachers teach you! )well i signed up for the computer programming and basics, because when im old enough i'd rather work on computers than anything else....Maybe i could get a job with VMK ;) EVERYONE LOOK OUT FOR HOST_/VMK_Kiley!!!!

programming in Visual Basic is easy.
I had to learn Pascal when I was in high school and just like it was mentioned, one wrong symbol can throw off the entire program. and if it's complex..having to wade through pages upon pages of code to figure out why it's not working can be really frustrating.

that's why I don't do programming...I dono't have the patience for it! :rotfl:
p.s. once you get to college you'll learn the fun programming languages like Fortran, Cobol, C++ if you pursue a computer science degree.
