Hi everyone.....
it was a crazy Monday at work, and I had a lot to do catching up with my father and communicating with siblings. DD was on the computer here all evening with her AP Bio lab-mates doing a project......then when I got on at 9:30 I'd received an e-mail reply from my dad's primary care doc.........so here I am an hour later.......
he saw his PCP today to get his elevated blood sugar checked out...is pre-diabetic and needs to improve his diet and exercise more for 3 months and then be follwed up for that.....the appt with urologist is not til wednesday.....he's overwhelmed, confused, down........I think we all are with the 4 year anniversary of my mother's anuerysms/brain surgery/stroke coming up on the weekend....hard to believe it's been 4 years since we almost lost her adn she's been in the nursing home over 3 1/2.
And with the holiday season.....it's just hard.

So, I will get in here as much as I can- as usual - to "escape" RL but today was just one of those days.

Ann, would love to take you, but I have a connecting flight going in the opposite direction. I'll be in Cincy tomorrow morning...I know of at least TWO cheerleaders I could pick up on the way...but they're not letting me!

Not sure if I'll have time to check in later, since of course the list is much longer than I'd like it to be, and my flight tomorrow is BEFORE the crack of dawn so I'll need to get some sleep, or take a nap, or sumpin'...

Have fun while I'm gone - don't get into too much trouble! Pssst...most of the mods are heading to DIS Con, so it should be a free-for-all 'round the CB!! I wasn't inciting them, I swear...nope, not me...

O.K., Debbie, I don't feel so bad now. It is a little warmer here. my weather channel icon says it is 27, not sure I want to know the windchill though, so I'm keeping it minimized!
I did maximize it long enough to get forecasts for Cookie while ago and as soon as I saw a witer storm advisory that lasts for the next three days, I clicked right off of Louisville and pulled up Cincy for her (am flight) and , of course, Orlando. Now I'm really depressed. It is supposed to be 79 in Orlando tomorow! Last year we were there and I really wanna go so bad I can't stand it!

Ann- you made me feel almost warm. It is 29 w/ a windchill of 15 here. You should go home, take a nice hot bath bat, put on some warm, comfy jammies and curl up w/ some hot chocolate to read (or watch tv, whichever you prefer) and tell them you'll be back when they have the furnace fixed or spring- whichever comes first! Hope your day gets better!

i forgot to update everyone on my sister!! the lump/tumor was benign...they are in no hurry to remove it and due to it's location, unless it becomes threatening, they probably won't remove it. we are all breathing lots and lots of sighs of relief around here...


my friend just e-mailed me and said that she's on her way to the hospital for her scheduled inducing for her baby! she lives in the area where all of those sniper attacks were. i was so worried about her then. she's got 2 little girls already and is a single mom. she's had an unfortunate history with men. she's in the process of divorcing her creep of a husband...i wish i were closer (geographically) to her so that i could help her!!! we've been best friends since our junior year of high school (1989-1990). our families were both living in the same area, hers on the military base ft huachuca, and mine in the town sierra vista in arizona. our dad's were both sent to new stations at the end of the school year. we kept in touch for a while, but once she moved back from korea, i lost track of her until about 2 years ago. we've kept in contact via e-mail ever since...and we've seen each other once...
