YC scented tapers

Went to Omaha this weekend and found myself at an outlet mall. Went into a knife shop (or so I thought). Chicago Cutlery Factory Second Store. Had about 5 displays of knives and the rest of the store was a hodge podge of different things. In the back of the store I had to do a double take. I saw Yankee Candle scented tapers. I've never seen these before. And they were only $1.99 a pair!! I got Fresh Peach, Storm Watch, Hazelnut Coffee and Harvest tapers. They smell wonderful!! I just wonder why I've never seen them before? I've seen the unscented tapers that are in the catalog but never anything like these. I now wish I would have grabbed some more. Has anyone else had scented tapers?

I have some that I love and use seasonally. If you ask about them, they usually have them in the back.

Oooh, sounds good.. I have a fireplace cadelabra (sp?) so if I put long tapers in the holders it LOOKS like I have a working fireplace....


Do they smell nice? How fresh do they smell? I need nine of them to make it work for me.

I got 3 pairs of tapers at the YC store when they were on sale. They smelled good for a short time. The color faded out of the really quickly. All 3 pairs are white now. I was disappointed in them. And I really like the rest of the YC candles.

Carol, I was afraid of that happening... I guess I will just stick with my cheapies for now... they are the Martha Stewart ones. They burn clean and nice.....

I haven't had the tapers, but the same thing happened with the pillars. Faded and scent lost

I also believe (not 100%) that I was told the tapers are being discontinued.

I'll stick with the jars and tarts......and plenty of those
