We (myself, DH, DD7, DD5, DS3) are going to Disney World for 10 nights next summer. The last few trips, we have stayed at the YC and the kids love the pool. This time, we want to go back to the Poly to be on the monorail line, as the kids also love the MK. Has anyone changed resorts mid trip? Is it worth the effort to change resorts with 3 young kids, or should we just stay at the Poly for the whole time?

We split our stay a couple years ago. We didn't have kids then though.
It was easy for us since we had a car and it was the two of us. I would say to try it since you are staying for ten days. I would say no if you were only staying for a week.

I love split stays and usually I'd say go for it but with 3 little kids in the summer, I'm not so sure it's a great idea. Switching resorts itself is not much trouble, but you do have to check out from resort #1 by 11am and may not get your room at resort #2 until after 3pm.

So you're roomless at the hottest part of the day, which could be a big problem with kids that age.

We've done it a few times. The first time the kids were 3, 5 and 6. We're planning on doing it again this summer 10 nights at GF, and then 5 at YC. We love YC but this summer we stayed at YC the whole two weeks and I missed the monorail - this way its the best of both worlds.

My plan is to pack up the night before, leave the GF about 9:30-10:00, check into YC, have lunch at Beaches and Cream and then spend the rest of the day at SAB until our room is ready.

I think those are 2 great resorts to do a split stay! Monorail and SAB! Just try to pack lightly and be organized:) I know, easier said than done!

I agree with everyone else; since you'll be there for 10 nights, a split halfway through your trip sounds like a really nice idea, AND you'll have the best of both worlds - An Epcot resort AND a Magic Kingdom resort. :thumbsup2 If I were going to do a split stay again, those are the two resorts I'd choose. Have fun! :sunny:
