A few years ago we were thrilled to be given a free upgrade to YC concierge. It was Easter weekend and one of my fondest memories was an adorable and delicious bunny shaped coconut cake in the lounge. Throughout the 2 day stay we were also treated to many fine pastries and chocolates. I knew we wouldn't be getting any bunnies this trip but expected the same quality of sweets. Not even close. The desserts consisted of stuff you'd find at a kid's birthday party, i.e. cupcakes, cookies, rice krispie squares(yuck), gummie worms...you get the idea. Needless to say we were very disappointed. The breakfast stuff was equally mediocre, heavy on doughnuts. I'd say it was comparable to the free breakfast buffet you'd get at a Hampton Inn. There was a tasty hummus dip appetizer and the mint iced tea they served was delightful. The coffee and hot water for tea were not kept warm enough. All in all not enough to entice us back to YC concierge.
