YC, BC or BW? Main perk is walking to EPCOT and HS

I have been reading the threads on each of these resorts but I'm really on the fence between them. I will be honest that until I started looking into them neither of them were on my radar. My main purpose for the shift is the fact of being able to walk to both parks. I read that the Skyliner goes from this area to CBR first then onto HS....that sounds a bit painful since it sounds like you are contending with folks staying at CBR and you need to walk to switch skyliners to get to HS. We are walkers in general, so walking directly to HS or EPCOT will not be an issue for us...but I'm looking for info that might push me more in one direction then another when looking at all 3 resorts. I am aware some of them are only booking villas at the moment, but we are looking for June 2021 (Sun-Friday) so hopefully by then the resorts will be fully open. Thanks for any insights!

I wouldn't count on BC or BW non-DVC rooms being open in June since they are not booking them in July.

I've stayed at all three multiple times. I prefer YC but just because it feels a little more adult to me and I like the looks of it but frankly, I tend to stay at whichever one is less at the time I'm booking. Epcot and HS are our favorite parks and pre-Covid with PHs we would go to one if not both every single day. We always walk to both parks and between both parks. There are boats that run (pre-Covid) but we found them slower and really only take them if it's pouring down rain or late in the day and I'm just too tired for words.

Lately we have been staying at Swan/Dolphin because I'm cheap and you can get them for much less than the WDW resorts.

It's really a matter of theming for the decision between YC,BC and BW. BC is more kid friendly and all the upstairs rooms do not have sit on balconies, some have the tiny little Juliet balconies that you can walk on but there is only room to stand. There aren't any inside food choices except a little bar with bar food at BW, all the food available there is on the BW. YC and BC share the big pool and it can get crowded and noisy. For some reason, and it might just be perception on my part, but the hallways at BW seem to be longer than the other two, I call them the REDRUM hallways. Some people are put off by the clown slide at BW but we tend to spend our time in the hot tub in the bar area so it doesn't really bother us. The leisure pool is great there.

You really can't go wrong with any of them.

Ahh, so maybe YC will be my only option then! Hoping it might change and they open up though, b/c that would be nice! Thanks for the info!

Thank you SO MUCH for all this info and input. I kept going through all 3 looking at the pics to try and get a "feel" for them. Even though DS is 15 he would live in the pools if I let him and since 2 of the 3 share a pool that really isn't a big deal. Good to know also about no inside food choices and I know that food options are really open to all 3 since it's just a walk from one to another. Funny that BW seems to have longer hallways...maybe it's just the layout!

If your son is a pool fiend, YC or BC for sure!! I know they are taking down the clown at the BW, but since you'll be there in the summer, SAB cannot be beat.

How many are in your party? I, personally, wouldn't shy away from the villas if they are in your price range. We are a family of 3 and really like the 1- and 2-bedroom villas for the extra space, full kitchen and washer/dryer. You can walk to DHS from all of those resorts. If you want to be slightly closer, consider BWI/BWV. It's a bit of a further walk to EP than BC/BCV, but not by much. If you don't mind getting your own transportation from the airport, the Swan/Dolphin will also put you within walking distance of both EP and DHS. In terms of proximity, BWI/BWV are closest to the walking path to DHS. BC/BCV are closest to EP, but, again, you can walk to both parks from all five resorts in that area. I guess it depends on when you are going, but we've done the Skyliner transfer at CBR and it really didn't take a tremendous amount of time.
