Just got back from 12/17-23 stay. We stayed the first 4 nights at YC, standard view and the last 2 at the WL, main pool view. We LOVED YC. It felt like coming home, and then I realized it did look like our home. The striped curtains had colors straight out of my wardrobeoff white, light and dark blues, and khaki.
The wall paper was very similar to the one I had hung on our previous apartment. I found the resort refined yet not fussy. I loved the fact that there were other resorts in walking distance; it didnt have the isolated feeling of other stand-alone resorts.
We chose to split our stays because DH had wanted to stay at an Epcot resort and we have two young children--DS5 and DS3and wanted someplace close to MK. The WL was a sentimental choice as we honeymooned there 6 years ago. The resort is definitely more family and budget-friendly. Had YC have something like Roaring Fork Café we wouldnt have had to order room service or spring for expensive breakfast buffets at the Galley. The smaller pool at the WL was more suitable for our two boys.
However, we found ourselves a bit disappointed at the WL after 4 nights at YC, e.g. smaller room, darker hallway, the room not being made until 6 pm. Also, I kept bumping into the heavy bed frameI am rather accident prone.
In retrospect, it might have been better if we had stayed at the WL first. The CMs at both resorts were very friendly and nice to our boys. All in all, we had a lovely trip, and cant wait to go back.
