It's good to have Yavn back. He was missed, but as others said... I've been around long enough that I remember a time when there were no Newsletters at all. So while not having any for a month was a little disappointing, I wasn't dying. Heh.

I think the new water ride starts are cool - Neat new colored tubes! Woot!

I love the 4th pin. And the new strawhat/sunglasses - Those will go great with either surf, or safari-wear! Probably go fine with a sort of metro-cowboy look too. Thumbs WAY up on that!!!

I don't foresee any problems for me with the moderation stuff as I keep my own patio clean. While the turnstiles would be neat to have, it would have been nice to get a few credits back on my ride-investments, but I don't really care that I'm not going to be able to get them.

I have regular access to DLR so I'll get the middle sub piece. I agree it odd that they have an online game for some of the sub, but the middle is DLR only. Seems askew, but not too unsual for the oddball way VMK does things. Sorry for you WDWers out there, but hey - you still have a VMK Central to get cards from. Oh well. I just wonder if each Middle Piece card will give one or two pieces. Do we have to get two cards to get a matching pair? Hmmm... End of next week? I'll be river rafting next week, on Friday I'll be driving home past DLR, maybe I'll stop in.

Finally the Food Cart - OMG!!! That is AWESOME!! I agree and hope they come out with a classic popcord-type cart. Maybe an ice cream cart. Surely we need a turkey ley cart. Wouldn't it be cool if they gave us some kind of server-uniform. Like a soda-jerk costume from a 50s malt shop. You know? For the boys - White pants, shirt apron, black bow tie and shoes, paper navy-hat... that sort of thing. The girls get those little roller skate waitress skirts and a similar navy-style hat.

I also hope the cart is similar to the candy dispensers. Double-click on it and your avatar eats a churro. I hope I hope I hope...

I agree. I don't think people were bashing Yavn at all. Most just wondered what happened to the newsletter. Like some have said before, all VMK needed to do was put up a "Yavn is off this week" message and most of the wondering would have been over.

I agree with that, but I'm still glad to see there's a new newsletter up and I'm liking all the changes that are mentioned in it. Now, when will we actually see all these things is the question, but I'm nothing if not patient.

I would love to see costumes like those we see CMs wearing in the parks. So something like what you might see at one of the outdoor vendor carts to go with the carts would be cool. It would really be cool to see our little toon selves eating churros or popcorn in game. LOL

You know, I was doing some thinking and while I don't doubt that Yavn really did go on vacation, I'm wondering if he truly went on a month long vacation. I wonder if he was just laying low until the pitchforks and torches were put away from the DLRers that were angry about that last newsletter

I had thought of that as well and wouldn't surprise me. To me it sounded like he was gone for 2 weeks with how he said he it would take him more time to see the places he listed then 2 weeks. I am going to assume if he was still on "vacation" it was resting from that and the WDW trip he mentioned. But I'm sure it was a nice way to avoid all that for a bit of time. Its not uncommon for something like that to happen when someone in a business knows the kind of backlash that will happen with a choice and the so called reasoning given behind it.

But anyway, maybe it wasn't a great idea to "tease" us with the turnstile, but they really did have the best of intentions, just like they have the best of intentions to take it away. Honestly, I think it actually was a good decision not to release it, looking ahead to the long run.

I don't read the newsletter to claim that he was on vacation all month. He says it was a 2 week vacation, and that he's been super busy. I took a 2 week vacation once, and when I got back, it was miserably busy.

I totally agree Mint, could you imagine the scamming headaches this item would have caused? While some would have used it wisely, sadly, some would not, and it would have caused a reporting night mare for the vmk staff to monitor.
